Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

My problem with the movie is how Luke and Lando were searching for the dagger together. This contradicts (unless I am wrong,) the fact that for 40 years Luke Skywalker went missing and NO ONE knew where he was. Unless I am crazy, but wasn't Luke training Kylo Ren AKA Ben Solo, to be a Jedi at this point? But because Luke and Lando couldn't find the dagger, Luke gave up. Is that why he went into hiding?

Wasn't Luke suppose to be very sensitive to the force, that he should have found the Sith Dagger the first time he went to the Burning Man planet? Also my problem was the dagger it self. How the hell was that dagger a map to where the Sith NavePoint on the Ruins of the Death Star? That can't be a coincident! It means that whoever made that Sith Dagger knew about the destruction of the Death Star and instead of saying to themselves, "Hey, why am I making a map to the Sith NavePoint to Exegol? I just won't make this dagger AT ALL." And thus ensure that the Sith would win.

If I was Palpatine, I would have killed the Dagger Smith and destroyed it. Thus when it was time to run the galaxy I'll just show up out of the blue with my huge ass fleet of Planet-Destroying Star Destroyers.

I know I'm ranting but I just have to point this out. Rey's Yellow Lightsaber means that she is a Jedi Sentinel. The Jedi Sentinels were the Guardians of the Jedi Temples and they were the Strongest of all the Jedi's. Their Lightsabers usually were either Yellow or Orange colored to show that they had mastered the force. There were usually about anywhere of 20-30 Jedi Sentinels, (I think,) to guard the Temples. My only problem with Rey having a Yellow Lightsaber, is that we don't see her getting the crystal. And from the look of the ending, she went straight towards Tatooine immediately after the defeat of the Final Order. Unless it took months for her to get to Tatooine, I don't know how she should have crossed a yellow crystal.

These are my problems with the film.

I'm gonna guess Kennedy is done, Rian is done. Lucas, covertly, will probably get with Filoni and try to work/establish some proper creative team going forward. Lucas doesn't give s shit about Star Wars, but he cares about his company...

Is it ever stated how much control or influence Lucas even has anymore?
ive been operating off the assumption that he sold the cow, and has no more say about it or its malk anymore.

No, Luke was only gone for 3-4 years....

He had none, but recently he has done consulting work with episode 9 and Mandalorian.

I'm thinking he has a bit more nowadays. But, he is certainly not, nor will be, running the show...

But, helping frame creative teams would certainly be something he would do...

wait, what?
going way back to VII here but I'm pretty sure there was a line in it that suggested rey thought he was a myth? I know the galaxy is a big place but I find it very hard to believe that anyone in-universe would think he wasn't real given what he did, like you wouldn't learn that in space school?
also I'm sure this has been said before but I don't really understand how he cut all ties to everyone and went off to become a hermit and yet some guy has a map to him
are these films badly written or something?

A FUCKING MUSICAL THAT FOLLOWS REY! No goddamn way. HOW! WHY!

hamilton. so progressive! so brave!
it also ticks all the artsy-fartsy boxes of the soybrigade working at disney and on twitter.

it's also not the first time disney did a musical, and star wars is disney now, so...

I really hope they do it, because in true disney fashion when it comes to star wars they will half ass it and will be laughed out of the theatre. as gay as broadway might be, they still have a higher standard than the average movie consumer where shit like TROS still works.

The one that irked me quite a bit was when they met Lando. It's the first time in all 3 movies we get to see old Lando. CP30 says "Hey guys, this is General Lando" and he gets cut off by Rey going "yeah we know". Then it has him asking the simple request to "give Leia his love", only for Rey to smugly say "You do it yourself".

rey was always a cunt. remember when she was translating for chewie when she met luke? because of course that scavenger from the ass-end of the galaxy that never got off the planet speaks fucking wookie.

So with ubiquitous hollywood white male. International audiences have accepted that's just the hollywood leading role, and any attempts to replace that with another ethnicity are met with resistance; If we're toppling white men, WE should be the ones in charge, not those other even worse foreigners.

it's not even that, it's as simple as skin color. look how blacks and "other" asians fare in asia. how blacks fare in the latino market.
white males are also the only ones you can do whatever you want and no one bats an eye. have a black dude tortured? you're glorifying slavery and oppression. and let's not think about genderbend, good luck have women of any color tortured or even raped onscreen.

it also affects the setting to a large degree. for example, can james bond be black? yes, yes he can! - if you limit his area of operation to north america, africa and western europe. now imagine james bond as a black women...

General can probably get the exact time frame. But I believe Luke disappeared after the destruction of the academy. That was about 3-4 years prior to the events of TFA.

As far as Luke being a myth, thats not too hard to believe: he was a low profile Jedi master teaching a handfull of students on a secluded planet...

Or Palpatine could have just used his fleet of Star Destroyers and threatened to annihilate the galaxy if Rey didn't kill him thus negating pretty much the entire plot for all the movies from what I've heard.

but he blew up the death star..
on the other hand I guess that was some time ago and it didn't actually achieve much because there were 2 more so I suppose you're right

I thought it was a good decade at least. But I don't know how old Kylo was when he killed everyone at the academy.

like you wouldn't learn that in space school?

to be fair rey was a bum on a sandball who couldn't afford a new set of clothes or different hairstyle for 3 movies, her not knowing about it is possible. but that would also mean she doesn't know anything. in what context would she have heard of luke? "there was this dude defending the empire" - so she thinks the empire is a myth too? but she apparently knows palpatine, so...

in short: shit writing.

it just means jj wanted rey to have her own super speshiul saber color. orange is "her" color now, just like the falcon is "her" ship now.
stop caring about lore and details, that's toxic nerdshit!

And to be fair, the only person that thought Luke was a myth was the scavenger on a backwater planet she hadn't been off of since before she was 6 years old or something.

Seeing Rise this evening: I'm expecting it to be entertainingly bad. The Room of Star Wars?
I liked it. It was really odd and the lightning was like a German film from the 1920s. The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari. I internally lolled a few times at Palps behind it all, autistic face Rey and the ending was ovelting. I think this movie has tunnee my brain. Can't think of anything else to see other than im in now rish to day ainy more astar wars novies. Oh, keri russrll was hot

By the way we're watching the Rise of Skywalker on movie night.

If you want to join us, do so. It'll be fun.

If you can't watch the movie, then go here for instructions on how to be able to.
Rise of Skywalker is coming in less than ten minutes. Get in, and tell everyone you can, whether in chat or PM chain, to get in too.

So I signed up to receive notifications of preview screenings in my areas, and it's usually just local radio stations giving away tickets fro preview screenings of Bad Boys for life or whatever. This week I got an offer to try to win tickets to see Rise of Skywalker free while the movie is in theaters. Free admission Mondays through Thursdays for the time it's in the theaters. I've seen offers like this before (I got a similar ticket years ago for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie with Jessica Biel), but never for something as high profile as a new Star wars movie. I guess this Disney cooking the books or something.

I’m actually more upset that Kylo was killed off and not Rey. Kylo has a way more interesting origin and storyline, and is overall more relatable. This new trilogy has a habit of killing off the more interesting characters, and it’s annoying. Rey dying in the end would have been justice.

.....They couldn't even let Jar-Jar have his moments.

They had to strip him of all dignity, just like they did everything else.

If god exists, Chuck Wendig will be outed as the sex offender he looks like and never find work again thereafter.

for the "fans"

why tho? to take over her body? and why not just bonk her over the head and kill yourself next to her? kylo could knock her out easily in TFA just pointing at her.
