I may or may not be a bird scientist as well and the ornithologist is full of shit. Birds are all sexually dimorphic. In birds there is an equivalent to "intersex" in humans called "gynandromorphs" where the bird is literally half male, half female:

However, they are also always sterile and unable to reproduce. They are genetic dead ends, incredibly rare genetic defects. The fact that they have a genetic disorder and cannot reproduce means they are not a third sex. Reproduction is kind of a main factor in being a sex, hence the term sex.

When we go out in the field to study birds and denote their sex we don't ask them what gender they identify as lmao. If they sing a song or have dymorphic male coloration, they're male. If they don't sing, have female coloration, or are actively laying eggs they are female. As birds do not have external gonads that is how we determine sex.

Also, if you actively use Twitter to get into bitch slaps on the internet about psuedo science you are not a real scientist and should never be published in a journal ever again.

This is something I always ask troons who like to post in chats, but never get answered. How can something which can be ascribed to as an error in meiosis account for a "third sex"? Errors can be caused by environmental factors, such as toxic chemicals and radiation. What environmental advantage would these new sexes serve? What response would trigger in a population "Shit, we need to survive as a species! Start adding chromosomes!"

The point they so spectacular fail to ignore is that a woman, having never had a cock, a set of balls, sperm or XY chromosomes etc., doesn't suddenly cease to be a woman the moment she has a hysterectomy or a mastectomy to save herself from cancer. This does not prove that men can be girls.

Troons using menopausal women or those battling cancer to prove that "girl dick" is still "female" even though they don't have XX chromosomes, uteruses and ova etc., is utterly vulgar.

I'm glad you responded so I don't have too but I also want to mention that intersex conditions while rare and a genetic defect do happen naturally, as in they spontaneously occur in nature. (And if it's happening at a high rate there's usually a less natural cause such as harmful environmental effects) Intersex and gynandromorphs aren't trans, they just don't fly over to the local bird troon clinic and get "flooded with estrogen".
