I was raised RC so take the following as you will...
The RC church is nothing like it was 20 years ago. Today it is a wholly political org that has reversed on many of the core teachings it held for 2000 years. The head of the church is a socialist. And the SBC/evangelicals gave been thoroughly infiltrated by those of the SJW persuasion.

Just check the news from yesterday. You had one of the leading outlets go off in impeachment calling for Trump's head on a pike while citing Billy Ghram...and then Billy G's son Franklin calling them on their BS.

Like all else in current year, the radicals have infiltrated there too.

Just does to show that Christianity is bullshit and whatever spiritualism is in the west is beyond fucked. I wasn't raised RC but I am part Irish, (Eiré means Ireland in Gaelic) so my family were religious to a degree. However, when I spoke to my mother about this, she was saying that there should be a balance between religion and secularism because it did bring people together, for good or for ill and I agree with her.

The problem is that too many people swing from one extreme to another like @MadPanda said, and it's only gonna create more problems because people need something to cling on to instead of having faith in themselves.

And going with the freedom fightere/counter culture analog, it's only natural that they are gonna take over and become the next dictators, it's just how life is.

I will say, there IS a lot of evil in the world, however there if it was as bad as you say humanity is, why does Christmas Exist? Why does spreading goodwill exist? What makes humanity well human, is that we are EQUALLY able to do good as we are able to do evil. Unlike what people seem to think, being human isn't "black and white"(World Perception of alignments.) It's that humanity is on the very surface, Gray, so much gray.

Although if that is too philosophical, this also works well in seeing the world. If I WERE to choose one out of this, I would say I'm Neutral Good, IMHO. I'm overall a nice guy, It's what makes it hard to see a person like Vic basically being smeared, I can feel this year has been very tough on him, he is keeping a strong front on that, but I mean, you can just feel the heart drop on this statement alone. "I thought these people were my friends..." Hits like an atomic bomb drop

I find myself ascribed to Chaotic-Good. I'm a nice guy but irritate, annoy, or anger me and while I may not assault a guy, I absolutely will find a legal way to make their life hell for as long as I feel vindictive... which in some cases can literally last halfway into research.
that said I think most would fall into the chaotic-neutral spectrum. they are generally good people until doing such inconveniences them and then they drop their principles and morals to get by whatever prevented them from going forward. very rarely will a person try to move on while keeping their principles and morals.
