These were the most flattering I could find on page 1 of a GIS for "Viga Linkara."

EDIT: I just remembered that Lewis actually is a fan of Mr.T.
I honestly want to hear Linkages take on Rise of Skywalker. Is he going to be one of the idiots who hates it but loves Last Jedi despite TLJ being the main thing responsible for the narrative problems that ruined ROS?Well looks like Linkara's gonna have a fun time in the comments section. This is essentially an hour video split into 3 parts basically of him defending The Last Jedi while going thru plot point after plot making a case for each one. I'd talk about his usually whiny arguments here but we should probably keep that contained in the Star Wars thread.
Still, I find it funny how hard he's essentially turned his comments section into a verbal battleground for him to fight in.

As I said, this is probably the thing he needs to do to survive in this age of YouTube as one of those creators that the website parades out to show that they actually care about their creators and haven’t gone completely corporate/ became “the new Netflix”. I mean, for a comics channel, he doesn’t cover much of the MCU or DCEU. What else can he do?
Why does Linkaras wife look so much older than him? I guess he just looks like a perpetual manchild.
I'll tell you what I remember because I'm not rewatching an hour of Lewy telling me how Holdo is actually in the right.I honestly want to hear Linkages take on Rise of Skywalker. What I really want is for all these TLJ fan douchebags to pitch their own "better" TLJ sequels so we can laugh at how much worse and even more exceptional they are than what we actually got.
I'll tell you what I remember because I'm not rewatching an hour of Lewy telling me how Holdo is actually in the right.
-in the comics there's a lot of narrative thought bubbles for old man luke, which for lewis ruins the subtle storytelling and prefers the more silent moments with luke and rey.
-he likes old man luke since the Jedi in OT were closely similiar, being pacifists first and only fighting as a last resort. Prequels Jedi were badass and cool but ultimately led to their downfall and luke doesn't want to make that same mistake, as he goes on saying it's time for the jedi to die.
-The stuff between Holdo and Poe makes sense to Linkara. Poe is being reckless and insubordinate to his Commanding officer, and even though the bombing run was successful, it still got many of the few resistance fighters left killed and ultimately futile when more first order ships showed up.
-was okay with part when leia was using the force, cuz ya know she's Luke's twin sister.
-No argument for the FTL ram. Linky just thought it was cool.
-Snoke dies but Likara says who cares? Sidious was little more than a metaphor for Vader's corruption and when he kills Sidious Vader becomes redeemed. Likewise Snoke is also a metaphor too, but i don't remember exactly what, sorry.
-Finn's sacrifice is claimed to be stupid by linkara, as we're not sure if it would actually destroy the laser cannon.
-Rose saving Finn makes sense, since she just lost her sister sacrificing herself for the bombing run, which turned out to have been for nothing.
-Linkara says there is an undercurrent theme of legacy, where Rey tries to reconcile with who she is, how Kylo talks about killing the past, and the whole reason why Luke wanted to die alone on achtoo.
-End of the videos Linkara says he thought Rise of Skywalker was awful.

And it’s not like the OT was hard stuff, New Hope was literally classic Hero’s Journey. Woof.God almost all of these points are downright stupid, but I will cover two in particular from Good Ol' Linky
But weren't the Jedi in the OT trying their best to get involved in the fight against the Empire, Luke literally fucked off while the galaxy was on fire and his sister is getting killed. Luke himself didn't even like the ways of the OT Jedi as he went against them to save his friends and save Vader despite them telling Luke to kill Vader.
Linkara is an idiot because the Snoke death is a big deal because he is a character shoved into a pre-existing narrative with no one knowing who he is, the Emperor having nothing to him worked because there has to be an Emperor in an Empire.
tl;dr Linkara is an idiot who doesn't understand the OT.

-Yeah, that argument might work if the Jedi were actually nonviolent. How many flashy lightsaber battles do they have in the prequels, which might I remind everyone are still very much canon? Hell, the lightsaber itself is a Jedi specific weapon that's only good for maiming and killing, while blasters have a stun setting. Just because they have a kind of zen monk thing going on doesn't make them pacifists.- Pacifism isn't synonymous with sitting on your ass. This is something 14 year olds struggle to get, but it's not the same as being passive. It's only about the violence, so technically a detective that solves crimes without fighting or shooting is a pacifist. Luke isn't a pacifist he is a reckless.
- He's partially right, but like every pseudo-intellectual he says a smart sounding thing but can't connect it with anything and make a statement. Yes Sidious was a tool for Luke and Vader. What's Snoke's purpose for the characters he interacts with? If his death would've united Rey and Kylo and the next movie was about brining Rey back, that would've been something, but he dies, they fight and go back to square one.
- There's no guarantee that your body will absorb the shrapnell, yet soldiers jump on grenades to save other soldiers. There's never a full guarantee that you will beat cancer yet people do that. He is a writer btw. This is a writer that ignores human condition and humanity.
- Nevermind, NOW emotions matter... It's not that she can't it's that she sacrifices the entier resistance for one guy (or for HERSELF according to Linky) and there's no kickback, not even from Finn who should be furios.
Other Linkara retardation:I'll tell you what I remember because I'm not rewatching an hour of Lewy telling me how Holdo is actually in the right.

I forgot the reason why people hated Super Leia. Was it because it was out of place for Leia as a character? I just remember it being in the aftermath of Carrie Fisher dying and the super stuff happening after Leia was floating in space.-Yeah, that argument might work if the Jedi were actually nonviolent. How many flashy lightsaber battles do they have in the prequels, which might I remind everyone are still very much canon? Hell, the lightsaber itself is a Jedi specific weapon that's only good for maiming and killing, while blasters have a stun setting. -Regardless of Linkara and so many others' theme wanking about the death of Snoke, it still leaves the story without an effective main antagonist. Kylo just doesn't cut it because he's not a convincing physical threat to Rey after getting his ass whupped twice. Plus you can't have him be a conflicted villain and have a straightforward, exciting action scene climax, which Star Wars is and has always been about.
-Agreed and Linkara would be one of the worst military commanders of all time. He would basically be this guy:
...but fat. There's no such thing as a 100% guarantee of success in military maneuvers, and it's pretty reasonable to assume that ramming a big cannon with one of those car sized skimmer things would mess it up pretty badly, which looked like it was working before Rose stopped Finn. That's one of the really exceptional things about Last Jedi. So many things the men are berated for being dumb and wrong for doing by the strong, independent wahmen work or are working. They just involve making sacrifices, which happens anyway. Tons of people die anyway as a result of the strong, independent wahmens' actions, but we're not supposed to care because they're background extras. But when Poe's plan gets background extras killed, then we're supposed to care for some reason.
Other Linkara exceptionalism:
-I'll give Luke knowing about the events of the prequel trilogy a pass because he had lots of time to study them, but I'm not sure how he could get "the Jedi were too badass" as the reason things went bad out of them. Palpy still could've manufactured a civil war in the Republic and used it to seize power. The only real difference is that Dooku wouldn't be in charge of the Separatists since he's a former Jedi. Palpy would just find another pawn to do it, presumably a non-force user, and they wouldn't have to worry about the Jedi interfering.
-His Holdo and Poe defense is shit for the same reason as his Finn and Rose defense. See above.
-Leia having mega uber force powers is cool because she's Luke's sister, but Linky also thought Rey being a Palpatine was bad and she should be a nobody. So being naturally uber strong in the force being justified by your bloodline is good in TLJ but bad in ROS.
BTW, I think that was the best thing that was done with Rey in the whole series. She's still OP as hell, but at least they gave her an actual struggle and flaws in ROS that's more than "Kylo won't bow to my space wahman Jesus goodness like everyone else" that was her "flaw" in TLJ. Her being inclined toward the Dark Side is way more interesting and works a lot better for an OP character. Fans kept bringing it up for that exact reason, and JJ finally took the hint (too late, as with everything he did in ROS that had potential to be good). It wasn't well executed, but at least it had potential.
Not only was it out of place for her as a character, who barely showed much proficiency with the Force, but it was also out of place for the Force itself. The Force is strong, but it has never shown to be able to protect someone from the vacuum of space. Someone in the Star Wars thread summed it up well when they said the Force is an extension of one's physical abilities, but it doesn't make you invulnerable. As a result, it comes off as a silly deus ex machina that makes Leia survive for no good reason, made even worse by Carrie Fisher actually dying.I forgot the reason why people hated Super Leia. Was it because it was out of place for Leia as a character? I just remember it being in the aftermath of Carrie Fisher dying and the super stuff happening after Leia was floating in space.
Got it. Apologies for being considered a “Star Wars normie” who doesn’t get the intricacies of the franchise. Honestly, I think it’ll be the normies who’ll make Disney shitloads of money for ROS.Not only was it out of place for her as a character, who barely showed much proficiency with the Force, but it was also out of place for the Force itself. There's also the fact the image of her flying through space looked ridiculous which is why a lot of people say it looks like Mary Poppins than Star Wars.

Except that bizarrely, he seems to think that the people sitting on their asses and letting literal rapists get away with it might have a point now? That's what I'm getting from his defense of Luke.By the way, that was also the message of his Lightbringer comic, the first part was basically a rant about how pacifism is to let literal rapists get away with it, even if you have superpowers to stop them.
A shame. Seems like Lewis hasn't grown up at all since then.
Not in the slightest. He tries to act like he has but if you've read his old works it's pretty clear he still doesn't know how to tell a story. At one point the guys who worked with him on Crossoverlord watched his movie and stated it was basically exactly how he pitched that series seven years prior.By the way, that was also the message of his Lightbringer comic, the first part was basically a rant about how pacifism is to let literal rapists get away with it, even if you have superpowers to stop them.
