Being against birth control is not comparable to abstinence. Birth control is made by men for the benefit of man and to the detriment of women. Riddle me this: if birth control was imposed upon women by the patriarchy, why do patriarchal religions want to deny women access to birth control? See how your argument doesn't make any sense at all? The simple fact is that women use birth control because they want to have unprotected sex with men and play with sperm without the consequence of getting pregnant. Women don't want to have to depend on men for birth control so they opt to use birth control themselves. For straight women who are sexually active, monogamous and want to be in control of their vertility, birth control in the form of the pill is the easiest way to do so. I am sure there are other ways to control your vertility - such as the political lesbianism that you advocate, which whether you want to admit it or not is a form of sexual abstinence - but this is just not practical for most women.
Feminists need to stop pretending that women have been brainwashed by the patriarchy into using birth control.
