How the hell did Phil decide it'd be a good idea to even get two condos in opposite ends of the country in the first place? I'd like to touch up on my DSP history, but the Lolcow Wiki is gone.

Phil wanted to run off with his daughter to a state where he didn't have to pay any taxes for his business. He was actually making damn good money at the time, but he refuses to take a loss on the condo so he held on to it. He's been in Washington for...6 or7 years I believe and has not visited, checked on, stepped foot in or looked into the CT condo since he left.

Uh, no DOOD. He did his research, okay? And Washington doesn't have state income tax, okay? But it turns out, these booksmart nudniks do charge a flat business tax. And his fraud of a CT "attorney" didn't even bother to learn this, so it wasn't his fault nothing he could do.

Edit: Jepp, unit 107. It's the thing. If you watch the photos it's is surprisingly empty (2017). I doubt Phil made that happen.

That parking lot sure is nicely plowed. Wasn't one of his huge complaints that he had to shovel snow just to get to his car?

I know real estate photos always tell the most attractive story but I've never heard of a HOA that wouldn't plow when snow fell. Just another in the endless list of things Phil lies about for no reason.

I thought Phil said he had tried a short sale before and the bank wouldn't let him. Maybe the bank put up this ad or this is Phil's 8d chess maneuver to get the bank to let him short sell his place.

@SoapQueen1 would be more qualified to confirm I'm sure but I'm assuming that because ownership is about to revert (or that the bank just still owns it) that they don't need to approve themselves to do a short sale. According to Phil he wasn't approved because he owed too much on it still, or something.

But, as always, it's Phil. Who knows if he even bothered; the asshole admitted that he wouldn't work with a property management company because they wanted to talk to him on the phone rather than do everything through email so the idea that at some point he was actually attempting to negotiate with the bank seems unlikely to me. He wouldn't show up to his own foreclosure hearing, so make of that what you will.

I would be willing to bet a small amount of money that his parents got a family friend to negotiate the short sale on Phil's behalf or had a family friend working at the bank they could talk to for him. Possibly even the CT tax guy showed up and gave them the sob story of how he fucked phil's life up by accident

Seems likely this is the first step to the lender trying to recover their money. They'd do the short sale to collect whatever they can and be rid of the property itself. Then they come after Phil for the difference (I hope).

Doubtful. The bank/mortgage companies will typically only deal with the homeowner unless a lawyer was hired on Phil’s behalf. Going through a “family friend” as a mediator would be unlikely.
