Dr. Rachel McKinnon / Dr. Veronica Ivy / Rhys McKinnon / Rachel Veronica McKinnon / Foxy Moxy / SportIsARight - failed out of a tenured job,man who competes in womens sports, gained like 100 lbs in 2022 (page 813), comically fell off bike before a race (page 830)

And mostly male puberty. They want to pretend it is all about the current testosterone levels, but that's not nearly as important as going through male puberty. Now, if they keep trooning kids out and giving them puberty blockers, they probably won't have as many trans "women" athletes winning stuff because those drugs have side effects like bone damage. But that's just speculation because they don't really know what the long term issues are in doing affirmative medical care. It's just one big experiment on children. I guess, though, fewer Rhyses running around is the silver lining to kids being mutilated based on a cult religion instead of believing science.

Yep. Going through puberty as a male is a gigantic advantage in athletic endeavors

Looks like the department had his coming down on him as well

Let's fact-check this assertion. Did Rhys really "publish two papers in epistemology" this year?
His newest publications page lists three publications from 2019:
http://veronicaivy.com/publications
"Sport Is A Human Right" isn't about epistemology, but the other two claim to be.

But does this mean the good doctor is really "researching epistemology"? Let's look closer.
The first epistemology paper is "Gaslighting as Epistemic Violence", a title that will be familiar to long-time readers of this thread. This paper has been in the works for years - my last "draft" copy was timestamped November 2018, and the final proof copy seems to be mostly the same other than reformatting the citations and slotting it into the correct chapter heading/pagination for its inclusion in a book. Even being generous and allowing that this nonsensical paper counts as "epistemology research", it surely wasn't research done in 2019.

The second paper is "Luck and Norms" - attached. This is a survey article, roughly 8 pages, intended for a book on the philosophy of luck. Almost all of it is just a summary of the major thinkers in the field, or of his own writings from 2013. The tiny bit of original content here is just a minor extension of his 2013 concepts, which he does in a few lines without developing any sort of formal apparatus. This is only "epistemology research" in the most vacuous sense.

Conclusion: the department chair is right. RM isn't resarching epistemology anymore.

Looks like Rhys added one more comment to the I publish more than you rant and but now looks like they're deleted.

I'm not too familiar with academia and rules but what exactly does publish mean? Does posting your writing anywhere count? And who the fuck besides Rhys would air this on Twitter?

I'm not too familiar with academia and rules but what exactly does publish mean?
Roughly, being published in a peer-reviewed academic journal or having an academic book published. In academia, things can be "in press" for quite a long time - Rhys' case isn't unique in that respect. The specifics of when something actually makes it onto the printing press aren't as important as the general idea that you should be actively participating in your field and contributing to it.

Rhys is trying to pull a fast one by claiming that his year-old (or older) work should count as something he's currently doing, because it's just now physically making it to print.

Does posting your writing anywhere count?

Unfortunately for our boy, posting drivel on twitter and creating Op Eds for the press doesn’t count. Generally stuff like a paper in a journal, or a book, but also stuff like conference abstracts (you’d go to a conference and present your work) shows you’re active in your field. There’s no set amount of what you should publish - someone might work on a lab project for a few years then publish a huge groundbreaking work for example, but in the meantime you’d expect them to be contributing to other things like books and conferences and smaller papers along the way. All Ron has to do is think about shit and write it down and he can’t even do that.

Ron is being performance managed by his chair, who may well be ticking the boxes and going through the motions of the performance improvement process before dropping him. Only someone with absolutely zero self control and an ego the size of a planet would think slagging off said chair on Twitter is a good idea. Never change Ronny lad, never change.

With this unprofessional twittering, the provable lack of published work , the fact CoC look lkke clowns employing Dr. McLazyarse and the existing negative character report ; If i was the chair i would just go and get a nice pair of expensive ear defenders and show the doc the door.

There are still all those sponsorship dollars to get by on eh!?

REEEEEEEs, listen to what your boss is telling you. They're saying that you haven't done enough as an associate prof who JUST got tenure and he's covering his ass so when he fires you, all his shit is in one sock so if the college were to get sued by a litigious troon with an attitude problem it wouldn't stick.

The reason he's not publishing more than you ReRon is because he's the boss. Figure it out.

That's the really funny part. Not just that Rhys's boss is building a paper trail on him, but that he's really obviously building a paper trail on him -- this is practically a memo that says "I AM BUILDING A PAPER TRAIL" -- and Rhys...doesn't seem to get it.

Like, we've often floated the theory that Rhys is deliberately trying to kamikaze out of his CoC job and milk the aftermath for e-fame and lolsuit bucks, but how hilarious would it be if he did it by accident?

REEEEs is such a joke. He's like a burger flipper mouthing off to his boss that his boss hasn't flipped as many burgers as he, the burger flipper has. Except this incompetent buffoon is getting fobbed off on people going into debt to get "educated" by utterly worthless, useless "teachers" like him, as if he has anything remotely useful to tell anyone about. He is an expert in having a stink ditch and cheating at sports and whining and crying about nobody believing he's anything other than what he is, a man.

This is killing me. We shouldn't know the first thing about this, except that he's such a brainless meatsack he's going to keep us all apprised of the particulars of his eventual dis-employment.

Please tell me that "troon" is a portmanteau of "tranny" and "'toon", because there is no better description for this idiot.

Rainbow Fox Racing is an "organization" of one. I think he's got to be talking about Foxy Moxy, the troon cycling team which is/was basically an organized effort to get troons into women's race events. Rhys hasn't been a part of Foxy Moxy for a while; it seemed like there was a rancorous split (though I don't know the details--I don't think Rhys or anyone ever revealed much about it). It is truly amazing that there's a whole club of troon cyclists who like to beat women out there, and Rhys is unable to maintain friendships even with them.

Here's an old post I made about Foxy Moxy with a bunch of shots from their Instagram. 🤮

In other news, goddammit Chris Mosier is a fucking idiot. Every time she steps up to EDUCATE SOME TRANSPHOBES it's so beyond stupid I can't even find words. She's not content to be pathetic in her own right; she's gotta get out there and lick taint on behalf of Rhys and co.

Of course he isn't getting along with the other troon cyclists lol. What. A. Shock. And when Rhys doesn't like someone, or something, he gets hostile and has to either conquer it or destroy it. He tries for the former, but narc-rage turns it into the latter.

Then again, it might not just be Rhys's terrible personality at fault. I've noticed Troons arguably hate each other as much as they hate real women. They ally up for numbers and asspats on social media, but behind the scenes they never get along for more than a few months.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up that Rhys's boss is in fact gathering a file folder to eliminate his lazy, hateful, undeserving ass, because trannies can basically do whatever they want with no repercussions. But I can dream!

I also doubt that this is just about publications. Sometimes, at smaller universities or primarily-undergraduate institutions, a sparse publication record can be made up for by a strong dedication to teaching or service. The problem here is that Rhys doesn't seem terribly devoted to teaching and somewhere in this thread is a document that notes he doesn't get along with the other department members and does not participate in department activities. The other problem is that his research seems focused on himself and his problems. i.e. It's mostly just narcissistic rage on his part due to the fact that people don't think he should be competing in women's sports. Scholarship isn't supposed to be about your disagreements with people.

I also have to laugh at the fact that he's bringing up disagreements with his boss on twitter. I cannot imagine doing that - how unprofessional.

He thinks his boss isn't checking his twatter, and also probably thinks his change in handle would show "@rachelvmckinnon" isn't trashtalking his boss because it's quiet, but he linked @sportisaright to it anyway. If boss is secretly on twatter he'd see that too.

REEEs is also forgetting that people emailed his department because of the behavior he exhibited when Berns died, and in many other instances afterwards, so his twatter is not a secret at all.

Again, only a troon could get away with such unprofessional, immature behaviour.

If I did anything close , I'd find myself perusing sandwiches in the caf only to have a sack thrown over my head and 3 henchmen drag me to the back of the loading dock, throw me in a van and drop me off in a cold, Canuckistan corn field.

Troons could post fucking porn of themselves on Twatter, advertise their "sex positivity" in mass work emails, ask female employees for used tampons, slag off their employers, get in their cars and do wheelies over company property- and probably still keep their jobs.
Will established businesses and academia ever regret their decision to unquestioningly back up trannies, gender-specials and neo-liberal feminists? I wonder if Rhys's employer still thinks "Trans Studies" was a good idea?
Was it worth the woke street cred?

The department chair is not really Rhys' boss and probably has little actual personal power to do anything on his own to Rhys. It's a bit off to think of their relationship in that regard. That said, sharing all of this publicly is definitely not something you're supposed to be doing, you keep disputes in house.

The department, with the chair taking the lead because he's been pretty blatant about how he hates Rhys and Rhys cannot tell this because he's autistic, is basically walling Rhys off in the hopes that in a couple years or so he'll actively want to go away and they'll assist him in his pursuit of new and exciting endeavors. That's why they rolled over immediately and gave him the extended sabbatical even though his own proposal is nothing the department wants. They seem to be encouraging Rhys' own tendency to distance himself from the department and anything that doesn't involve himself first, I think they'd really enjoy if he stopped bothering them about his Twitter/sport spats.

This is a pretty standard method in pushing out a problem child tenured academic*. They're going to passively aggressively convince Rhys that he does want to leave and that he has nothing to lose in giving up this job even if he doesn't have a better one lined up. He's such a narcissistic moron (who seems to be becoming increasingly unhinged about people who disagree/oppose/deny him in any way no matter how small) that they probably will get to enjoy telling him that they're doing this to him as he fails to realize it. Hurrah academia!

*Or maybe more typically, convincing older ones to finally retire so that their offices become available.

Well you know Rhys is an "Energy teacher"...
