Yeah well when you're trying to figure out who you are the furry fandom is toxic and confusing.

It's no secret I care about trans folk. I think the fandom is unhealthy for people who are trying to find a healthy gender and sexual identity. There's too much...static. Too much of it is built on empty validation and attention seeking. None of that leads to real introspection or soul searching.

Asspats and clout are temporary. Getting to the point where you have self worth and real confidence is hard, and it's my experience that furries don't value that.

Self-worth and real confidence are anathema to those trying to cultivate a herd of loyal followers, there's no reason for those things to be inculcated from the perspective of the fandom's notable names.

That reminds me of a comment I once read in FurAffinity.
I do not remember who wrote the comment (other than the comment was on a submission), but he had a mother who wanted him to be potty-trained and a father who is a diaper-lover. Their parents let him choose; his choice was that he would 'stay diapered'.

Protip for Everyone: If your spouse claims to be a "diaper-lover" and is insisting that their child be allowed to remain in them "because they want to", that's the biggest red fucking flag your partner might be a pedophile, just saying.

The problem with the new UI is that it's literally polishing a dated website at best, and a turd at worst.

The thing with FurAffinity's new UI is that the backend code (or what runs behind the scenes, in layman's terms) is an absolute fucking mess. Most of FurAffinity's issues are not due to the layout or front end (which was dated yet functional), but more due to the fact that the site is a buggy piece of shit lacking features one would expect from modern art sites. A good metaphor for the new UI is if a landlord purchased a run down apartment complex, added in new carpet and drywall to make it look nice instead of fixing the problems, and then maybe jacked up the rent on top of this (FurAffinity Plus anyone?).

But thanks to the fact that other furry art sites are run by clueless people or gain a reputation of having crazy people using their site, they're never going to succeed. However with Tumblr banning porn and Twitter possibly treading in that direction, art sites might end up coming back. Plenty of furries who used Tumblr miss it but in over a year nothing has popped up to replace it, they merely migrated to other sites.

Most furries generally are people who are socially ostracised, hence why they have no form of selfs confidence whatsoever. I do see trannys as people who've pretty much dug their graves but the furry community just aids that's process a lot more. social ostracism mixed with "sexual liberation" backfires fucking hard. Hence why furries exist
