Bigot Brigade Something Awful and Friends - The roller-coaster train-wreck embarrassing downfall of a Web 1.0 giant and its tick offspring like from Cloverfield

I assume FYAD's days are numbered since Lowtax pussied out (again).
yes, but not because I think the mods and admins necessarily want to delete FYAD

I think a lot of the mods and admins really want the respect of FYAD and are going to try to continue to try and reshape it until they get that respect, which will never happen

and even if it did, it would be so different by then that the accomplishment would not be satisfying

Lightning Knight has explicitly said that most of the mod team wanted to delete FYAD but Lowtax stopped them.

I think that was just a capitulation tactic to settle down the riots in the trans thread

Lowtax did mention he was called in to help shoulder the blame and there's probably some truth to that, but clearly his ego interfered

I could be wrong though.

What's great is that this still won't be enough, and plenty of people won't be satisfied until Lowtax is gone too now.
They're already lobbying for a troon supermod (mod with privileges in every subforum) which would be a massive clusterfuck in its own right since the troon megathread would obviously use it as a way to police the rest of the forums.

I remember in 2016, it took Lowtax forcing the modteam to enforce the toxxes on Hillarybots.

In 2020, when the Dem candidate loses again, will Lowtax's spine make one last glorious appearance?

They didn't do that though. The mods let all the Hillary toxxes off the hook in exchange for a $10 donation to some gay charity or just conveniently "forgot". Lowtax never followed up.

Wait what, they silently undid the bans? Do you have proof they didn't just rereg?

didn't a whole lot of people complain about that though? Lowtax just listened to the people who had his ear at the time and it did make the problem go away, that seems to be a pattern with him. So I don't think that was actually Lowtax sticking up for legacy or whatever. I'm pretty sure the mods just quietly undid half of the bans and told them not to tell anyone, anyway.

obviously that wouldn't happen again since most of the people who complained have since been ran off.

I think he did actually, but again, that's back when there were people that would actually fuss to him about it. He only cares so far as it takes for the noise to stop.

Eh, small victories of forcing the mods to go down the list and press the button, regardless. Probably won't even get that this time.

My recollection is that what got Lowtax to show up and force the modteam to do the bans was someone tagging him on Facebook about toxxes not being honored.

I do love the fact that before, it took someone holding forum's entire codebase in his hands to reign in Lowtax's ego

this time all it took was one strong and brave trans poster... a righteous heroine with a fire burning in her heart the likes of which this bigot could never hope to extinguish
