Bigot Brigade Something Awful and Friends - The roller-coaster train-wreck embarrassing downfall of a Web 1.0 giant and its tick offspring like from Cloverfield

There was actually one guy who came in before ZDR who implemented an actual new feature or two, but he vanished within I want to say two months for unknown reasons. He had some kind of Pacman ghost avatar.
Chooch (can't remember how to spell his full name) was an actual programmer who worked on the forum software for a while. He quit when Lowtax wouldn't either continue to, or start paying him. I can't remember which. Most or all of the changes listed here are his doing. His avatar was a Bubble Bobble monster.

ZDR carred more about posting all day then working, They cant delet fyad but can do super serious infosec? bullshit.

I believe the implementation of the forums backend was Radium's doing, or someone hired by Radium's doing. I know what you'll say next, but if someone can configure a basic firewall, they could implement it. Its doesn't take a lot of skill, just a lot of work, and if you've got a small number of servers that don't change very often, it'd be manageable. Again, its speculation from some of the pixels and by seeing quite a few architected webapps in my time. Also what I've seen Lowtax & others bitching about, but given the fact SA hasn't had a data breech, its the only set up that makes sense.

Also from Jeffery's posts of wonderful radium code, it looks like they implemented a commit system for the forum code. Not exactly bleeding edge, but a sensible thing to do that makes undoing fuckups (and tracking who fucked it up) easier. I'm not sure if that's always been there or if that's a result of the money he paid the chinese.

It probably hasn't been a very good month for Lowtax.

I just registered to say some people are posting screenshots where the quote is in yellow. This only happens when someone quotes your own post. I wanted to send a PM to people but I cant find the option but I wouldn't want anyone to eat a ban over someone making the connection.

I got to say I was perma'd before this bullshit started and watching Lowtax's life and website burn has been a nice holiday gift
Yellow quotes in our screenshots is a mark of pride, showing that we're not afraid to be banned from Something Awful, preferably instantly and without reason or discourse.

I've no idea whether they do this or not, but if they weren't exceptional they could make it so that each poster has colours for elements like the page background that are slightly different hex values from the default (small enough differences that they aren't noticeable at first glance) and use the variation to indicate a number and thus make it possible to discern a user ID number from a screenshot. Or they could do a similar thing with fonts that all have tiny variations like slight differences in kerning, or different margin sizes or whatever.

They're probably too lazy to have done these things, though. And if they start banning people we'll know that they're doing this we can easily find ways around it (like just changing the formatting on the browser-side).
Yeah, that's the other thing. If there was some super secret method to identify users off of a screenshot alone, we'd know about it because they would've shown their hand already. Besides, if there was any countermeasure, it'd be too easy to detect and even easier to exploit. For instance, nothing is stopping me from taking a screenshot and, if they use the hex value for the background's color, just bumping the saturation up a single notch to get some random person banned. And if they were to make this method even more complex to make it harder to fake, then it'd just be all the more detectable.

The pro wrestling subforum's troon thread weighs in on the Lowtax controversy.

(Yes, even the SA wrestling forum has their own troon thread.)

There are a few "fuck Lowtax" posts. However I doubt they'll be banned or probated.

Hey, let's be fair. Bigotry technically gets you banned here, if your post doesn't reach the minimum bigotry requirement.

Like probably most people here, I used to post on SA about a decade ago and a lot of my online friend circle is from there. I know a few people who cancelled their Patreon support because of this troon train wreck.

The entire forum is unusable at the moment except maybe FYAD. You’re literally unable to make jokes on a supposed comedy forum. It’s incredible how Rich can’t put two and two together.

Gonna be interesting to see how many (if any) patrons will come back now that Lowtax is back to sucking troon dick.
Redemption stories aren't a thing in these people's eyes. If you've sinned once, you're thrown out of the trans Garden of Eden. Notice how despite his shameless groveling, the only thing they do is yell at him and tell him to go away once they've used him like a tool. Why do you think they're mad at a post he made in 2002, a comment possibly older than some of the posters themselves, despite him apologizing for it?

Probably late but aurahack does literal smut

It's an NWS link, don't click if you're at work, its drawn pornography. Now why these troons picked them as avatars... oh fuck you all know why, it's a fetish, it's why they get hard in the ladies room
wow that art is awfully cisheteronormal, non queer-inclusive and the animes look like
white people

NWS https://rule34.xxx/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=3501427 NWS this one's probably how the troons think of themselves lmao

I do have to give it to the troons they do one hell of a job penetrating online spaces and get the ear of mods/becoming mods. SA, reddit, sports, just taking over women spaces and getting lesbians to suck cock. Straight white men couldn't even do that!

Narcissists can be very good at guilting people into making unreasonable accomodations by exploiting fear of rejection or making accusations of bigotry.

The correct response to "you're transphobic" is not to mount a defense about how you are not. Thats how they get their foot in the door. That was Lowtax's mistake.

Correct. If you try to argue against the idea that someone is transphobic, you have already ceded ground that it is a bad thing to be and that the position of fighting against so-called transphobia is automatically positive.

This runs up against the mantra of never giving an inch to such people because they take a mile.

This is why Lowtax lost more of his spine, because even when blasted off his ass he started by saying he wasn't transphobic. Once the liquid/pill-based courage wore off, that was it.
