It's this aspect of self-selecting hugbox communities that disgusts me. You insulate and sever until you're surrounded only by people who validate you, and by that point it's not enough to be supported in living an otherwise-healthy life despite whatever's afflicting you, you're also rewarded and encouraged in unhealthy behaviours that should be red flags for anyone who actually cares about you.
