Remembering the GamerGate board dramas on 8chan, I would consider it less as a PSYOP, but more as a bunch of flailing spastics not having their shit together. But even if /ggrevolt/ was a PSYOP, I doubt it would have found any fertile ground had GamerGate itself not been subverted, taken over and ultimately run into the ground by grifters and lolcows, more or less the things Jim tried to warn everyone about in November 2014 (IIRC). Though in the end the split between /gamergatehq/ and /ggrevolt/ occurred way after GamerGate has had any relevance anymore. It was at this point in time either a laughing stock if not completely dead. Everything else you wrote is correct.

Kelly himself turning out to be a degenerate, while unsurprising, is still funny. And this time there aren't any other speds to out-cow him to such a degree that he remains overlooked and forgotten. The thing that fascinates me most about GamerGate in retrospect is that it is now way easier to name the people involved in it who didn't become lolcows.

That is incorrect.

GGRevolt started 10 months after GG began, in June of 2015, and specifically in response to other GG communities focusing more on boycotts and disallowing doxing and personal attacks of Anti-GGers. There was a brief period when some (like KIA) were trying to live and let live, but when GGRevolt kept doxing and skirmishing with other GG communities (Ethan Ralph's actions towards KIA being one of the most egregious example), they wound up telling GGRevolt to fuck off and removing them from affiliate linking. GGRevolt took it about as well as you'd expect.

Jim, meanwhile, flounced about three months into GG, and several of GG's biggest accomplishments and uncoverings happened after he left. Not counting funnier shit like Brianna Wu vs Deagle Nation or Arthur Chu getting nailed for being a creepy sex pervert, here's a brief sampler of some of the stuff that happened in just the last few months of GG:

* The End of Gawker, which its employees blamed GG for more than Hulk Hogan.

* Anita Sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn going before the UN with their now-notorious Cyber-Violence Against Women and Girls report, effecitvely demanding the internet be censored because people had the ability to point out when they were lying. The report itself, which unironically quotes Lyndon Fucking Larouche, is such a clusterfuck of bad sourcing and bad data that it cites hard drive locations and connects to multiple websites which do not exist. The report was so bad, in fact, that the UN publicly apologized for it.

* The SPJ Airplay event in which the SPJ basically acknowledged that GG had a point.

* Zoe Quinn quietly vacating her order of protection after it became clear she had perjured herself under oath.

* CON basically losing all credibility after going out of its way to defend Sarah Nyberg after Nyberg was outed as a self-admitted pedophile.

* Multiple CON members and Anti-GG heads being outed as sex offenders/sex pests. There are dozens I can list, but for the sake of brevity, I'm going to keep it to some of the more interesting examples: Rob Marmolejo, who sexually harassed 17 women while working for CON, Valis99, a convicted sex offender that was Feminist Frequency's twitch mod, and Devin "Critics of Zoe Quinn are Worse than Ebola" Faraci, who was accused of sexual assault, which he later confessed to and DFE'd.

GG ended in October of 2015 because there was literally nothing else it was going to be reasonably able to accomplish. By this point, basically everyone who has been involved with the "Gamers are Over" incident or the initial attempts to bury Quinn's initial scandal had either lost their job or were on different platforms (that were less successful). Gawker was killed by Peter Thiel and Hulkamania. CON was gone, its membership succumbing to infighting and having bottomed out their credibility. There was an attempt to keep GG as a watchdog community after this, but that failed, as it inevitably wound up in countless power struggles between disparate groups of speds.

@Spectre_06 when did those pedo forums get brought down? If they were taken down before John made a name of himself during Gamergate, then it is unlikely that it is him and is a shoop of somesort.

Can Spectre show that the forum this screen shot came from was real? Taking it down wouldn't erase all the evidence. There should be links or people talking about it somewhere.

TBH, there could've been a reason to feel pity for Geekdom, but he himself is a bit of an egoistic sperg. Sure he's much more tame, civil & the least spergy/faggy/autistic compared to other to his friends (Pretty much anyone who isn't UnrealEnt), but that's a very low bar to begin with.

It's like comparing Twilight to Vampires Suck. Vampires Suck may be cringy at times, but it's a drastic improvement compared to Twilight even if it's ironically a Satrical Parody of Twilight to begin with.

TL;DR: Unlike his circle (Except UnrealEnt), He's not a Lolcow. But he's definitely a sperg due to his own egoism, a minor one or not I'll leave to y'all.
