Jim occasionally does very entertaining topics, but his streams are best watched when somebody's gone and edited out all the dull moments, which accounts for about 3/4ths of the stream. I've seen videos which just edit out the superchat readings or Jim going to the bathroom and a three hour stream suddenly turns into about 45 minutes long or so. He shines when he actually commentates on something rather than restating something he said on Twitter or reporting on something without anything to add.

That being said, the last time I listened to an edited Jim stream that was actually entertaining was a video from about eight months ago, and that's after actively searching for edited archives of his streams recently. I just don't know what makes his streams worth checking in for.

Did you see his recent paypig stream? He made his fools pay to see him just rewatch old Warski clips like when he lit his nips aflame and the whole aim saga.

I don't even really need him to focus on lolcows so much anymore (god knows there are a couple dozen lesser spergs all vying for that crown at this point), but I wish he'd start streams with something already in mind to talk about now. I've been just listening to clipped segments because too often he would just devolve into aimless blabbing about "whatever" as unfunny superberry after unfunny superberry dominated more and more airtime.

There's very little new criticism of Jim here, and by and large it's just a chronicling of the people surrounding him. I think Jim has established himself solidly as not a cow, and I don't think there's any reason to keep this thread open.

People always want this thread closed and it never is, mostly it acts as containment. It only looks bad because it's spammed so heavily, otherwise it'd be a fairly normal log of a side-character in a lot of e-drama. It's the expectation that his cow behaviour matches his notability as a creator that causes the inflation in posts/people not thinking the thread delivers enough content, but there's enough reason to want to document him rather than just praise his videos in a media section thread.

to be fair, Konosuba is actually pretty well written and have a smart writing full of subversion of rpg tropes, its just that the transition from webnovel to lightnovel to manga to anime lost a lot of its edge and humor and writing. Its just the same as Gate. people accuse it as a work of jingoistic nationalism, when the original web novel is actually written as a criticism of the Japanese culture and views regarding the military. Remember, this was written in 2006, where a Japanese senator (a naturalized Chinese) proposed a bill to abolish the JSDF and let US be the standing army of the Japanese, invoking the MDT article 11. In a way, it is the Shin Godzilla (2014) of 2006.
