Does anyone have a tl;dr on how and why ContraPoints was unpersoned? I checked his thread and it didn't have any info in the OP, so I'm a bit in the dark as to why the troons turned on him. Was his passing privilege too high?
In her recent video, she included a four-second voiceover from Buck Angel, one of the first prominent FtM trans people, a porn star, a trans advocate, and—the cancellation-worthy point—'truscum', or transmedicalist. In other words, he apparently believes you need to experience dysphoria to be trans. Therefore, Contrapoints is guilty by association. The kerfuffle even made Newsweek.

The core argument of the defenders, best as I can summarize, is: "The Twitter left is exactly correct in its values, and has valid grievances, but they've targeted good people instead of bad ones this time." To me, the moral of the story is that everyone, no matter how with the 'in' crowd they are, is always one moment of indiscretion or accidental rudeness away from being the subject of an angry mob.
The whole thing provides a fascinating case study of how the online left criticizes, and responds to criticisms, of its own.
Contrapoints has also made a lengthy reply video here that talks about cancel culture more broadly, and the topics like presumptions of guilt, the lack of forgiveness, the moral splitting, the essentialism (shifting from "you did a bad thing" to "you are a bad thing"), and so on.
