His main problem is that he had no idea how to market it (and pretty much just plain didn't), and also that he is creatively bankrupt. None of his stuff was actually funny or clever, and half of it had actual versions already in the game that were more polished and potentially actually useful. Which is an aspect of the whole Wacky Magic Items thing that he just completely bypassed, because he's simply too stupid to understand the system or potential uses for things. He didn't understand the trend, he just thought all of this stuff was considered hilarious because "It's a magic item but useless!" or something, and ran... well, more like waddled... with that.

You know, this kinda reminds me of a scene from a sketch show I once saw, only there the punchline was the moment someone raised their hand they got taken out by a sniper and guy went "Welp, snipers are still in place."

Well, I'd argue. There are people who can pull off both jobs at once, but they are usually a rarity and since they're doing double the work they take time with their content.

Considering how Korra had a Mary Sue Stronk Female Protagonist™ , totally broke the pre-established lore, and went out of its way to make the characters from the original shit people/failures of parents, I'd have to say that Korra's more like the sequel trilogy than the prequels. Doesn't mean that they won't try to make another (undoubtedly even more terrible) spinoff though. Can't wait to see how Bryke will manage to fuck the universe up even more.

No they do mean Cactus Steven. Basically since he quit Little Homeworld because of emotional reasons, he started doing some (emotional unhealthy) gardening and accidentally did that plant thing with a piece of cactus and that grew into his head and started mimicking him (and repeating his venting) then turned into a terrifying cactus monster that just kept sprouting more body parts

I know that Steven Universe's got a bunch of problems, but it's a guilty pleasure. Also SU: Future is pretty good so far.

Something I just thought about, do you think Dobson had to do chores growing up? Because I don't think he did.

Was re-reading that "Monument to Your Sins" post on THOAD and there were posts of Dobson whining that he was going to draw what he wanted when people were sick of Skyrim, and then there was that school mural he blew off because he has "no interest in painting" despite it being paid work. And there was a series of tweets (Maybe a tumblr post) when Dave Sims was being talked about, Dobson brought up being tasked to ink some pages of Cerberus and even read it to try and break his bad habits, which Dobson dismissed because he didn't like the comic. And there are plenty of other examples that aren't coming to me where he insists he should be allowed to only do what he wants.

Considering how sheltered he was, and how prone he is to throwing a fit, I reckon he never really had to do chores. His parents would probably let him out of it just to get him to shut up.

May as well wonder why water is wet. This is Dobson we're talking about here! Besides not being a talented artist or expending any effort on his art, there's another factor. He's not really a fan of MLB. He's just glomming on to a fandom for attention/money, just like he does with any popular property that comes across his radar screen. As such, he has no personal investment in getting a thing "right." We've seen it again and again with this guy.
