They

They aren’t, but they do seem to occur when ever there are transcripts dropped.
Would be interesting to see the timelines.

I think it would be extremely naive for anyone to believe that people that SWAT, defame, drive their targets to suicide, have documented connections to large corporate interests, ANTIFA,radical leftist political groups, and a ringleader with open asociation with crisis management companies would avoid using hacker attacks. The motivation and the money is clearly there.

I've also heard that Japan is trying to crack down on the scanlation shit.

I saw a reddit thread discussing piracy not in the manga / anime scene, but the light novel scene, which is smaller but exploding because anyone can take the text of a LN / WN and toss it in Google Translate. With Manga you'd have to OCR the text first to get that level of no-effort.

And one of the publishing groups is named j-Novel Club, and they're interesting cause they have kinda a Netflix like model. You pay them like I forget, $5 or 9 a month, and you can read their translations as they do them, subchapter by subchapter, and get a free eBook or two a month or whatnot. They also put their translations on Amazon once they're done. A pretty interesting setup.

And someone asked him on Reddit if Piracy REAAAAAAALY hurts Manga/Anime/Novel publishing or if it actually is a virtuous goodthing that that goodboy did, stealing your product and thus giving you attention and driving your sales up. And he was blunt -- the novel serieses he licensed did universally worse than the ones that didn't have a pirated version already out there, and it was only when his company got past the parts that were already fan scanlated that sales actually went back to normal.

And as for Japan, yup. They realized that scanlation is product they're not getting to sell to Western companies. They went after one of the big scanlators directly not terribly long ago (mentioned in that article, forget which one but I believe they were the ones behind Bleach / Naruto / et all). But what's really going to fuck these guys over is that some of them are trying to monetize their theft -- demanding you go to their ad-aids ridden websites, click on adfly links, etc -- to get their scanlations. If you want to get Viz on your ass with the legal fist of god, make money they "should" have made.

And if you're bored and want to laugh, look at the entitled pirates having a fucking sad over on reddit about this:

Interesting coincidence. Didnt quite hear the initial question, but Robbie Daymond (here at SacAnime) had an interesting answer. It was something to the effect of "the internet can sometimes suck because people can talk shit but can't be called out on it because of anonymity."

It probably has zero to do with his bizarre accusations a few months back, but interesting nonetheless.

Damn those onion cutting ninjas.

Robbie is legitimately one of the chillest guys you'll meet in the industry. He was and still is a fan at heart, much like Vic in that regard although Vic's fandom interests aren't necessarily within the same field as his employment.

I really like Robbie and he's not necessarily the kind to be aggressive like JYB when it comes to stuff like this. But he does have opinions. He's just a little more subtle.

So you likely are reading into what he's saying correctly. I just hope he doesn't have more issues down the line.

Remember that Monica and Ron were sitting there in front of him while he said this, and they continued to act like speds on Twitter after the hearing with no remorse except over their wallets.

Bunch of fucking scumbags.
I wish we had video of them as he said that. Wanted to see if they even have a trace of guilt on them.

Failing that, panic as they realize Vic's sheer charisma will end them if the appeals court lets him play ball.

Amanda is the new Emmett or should I say, Femmett.

For this con (Winter 2020) the only possible KVer is Brittney Karbowski, though she just has the Believe Women angle. The other two Texas VAs, Brad Hawkins and Hayden Daviau, havent said anything one way or another.

For Fall 2020, two defendants are going to be there as guests, as well as KVer Justin Briner. Funimation might as well be there in spirit, and for all I know the sheepdog might attend to protect his mistress from sweaty weebs
IIRC, Hayden did congratulate Jamie on her Dallas article repost
