Honestly, my understanding of SSI is shaky because I don't collect it, but Sammie is probably only getting $400-$500 a month since she doesn't contribute to her household at all. I know to get the maximum (Which is only like $770) you have to pay rent and bills, and you have to have proof that you do, you can't just say you do. It probably does mostly go towards fast food and cigarettes, and the occasional Walmart tee shirt when the armpits rot out of the last one. I honestly have no idea how she lives this way. I can't imagine not having a stable, clean home.
