I’m so confused. Is he talking about changing his name to a name other than Veronica Ivy? How can it be a secret when he’s told everyone that’s his name now? Someone help me out.

I have no idea. I would assume that he's hoping to have some secret legal name he can use for stuff and that Veronica Ivy is just his public persona. If he's actually changing it to Veronica Ivy, he's pretty exceptional.
I really don't care what his name new name is. The only name I will ever call him is Rhys. Because he is a man.

My guess is that there's a link between troonery and narcissism. The transgender self acts as the false self, immune to criticism and able to demand that the world reshape itself to the false self's demands. The false self is necessary to hide the true self, which must never see the light of day. That's why deadnaming hurts so much, because it reminds them that they're living a lie.

What I believe is that he found out how hard it would be to get a name change sealed (while still using it for legal, business and employment purposes as was his intent) but he was so invested in "Veronica Ivy" at that point he continued on with the name change.
I have to assume he never got an American birth certificate, let alone one from the state of South Carolina, I don't even remember if he's become a citizen. So I'm not sure why he seems to think you can just show up with documents from any backwater third world country and have them accepted as valid.
Even crazier, from the two provinces I looked up, BC and Ontario, it's literally the same process with around the same cost, roughly fifty bucks. The only thing SC adds is the fingerprints, and that's a SC thing. He also seems to think it's a big deal that you have to do it in court, but this isn't court court, it's just a court because tradition. Canada just has some office stamp it or something probably rather than a low tier judge, it's pretty much the same thing other than apparently you don't have to go in person which is silly really. Although again, last time he just changed his first name while focusing probably on the gender change part.
Speaking of which, I also discovered on the same website that in Ontario you can get a new birth certificate with an X for gender and destroy your old one. Just like Obama got that one that said he was born in the United States instead of the foreign nation of Hawai'i.
