Closing Logos Group / CLG Wiki - Spooky scary TV logos! (NIGHTMARE FACTOR)

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
YASS. I've been waiting for someone to bring these weirdoes up. Thanks.

I was actually on the wiki the other day when I was cleaning up my bookmarks. Impossible to navigate site.

Also, you would think they would be more details in the "Where's Lunch?" logo. Document all the "lunches". I guess they can't handle Everybody Loves Raymond.

I can kinda sympathize with the people scared by the logos in a way. Kids imaginations are weird. I remember being uncomfortable with the cover of one of my dad's books when I was like 5-6. It was an artsy/abstract cover but for whatever reason it reminded me of someone drowning, which was my personal nightmare fuel.

Eventually, though, I got over it.

Hmmmm.....a pair of nice tits.....but with the S From Hell right next to them....

I remember, when i was 5 or so, there was a animated TV logo (though i can't recall which one exactly) that fascinated me. It didn't scare me, but as you said, kids imaginations are weird. I asked my mother what that thing was and she told me, it's called advertising but she liked my name for it way more. My name for it was humming the jingle that accompanied the animation.
Yeah. We grow out of it, eventually.

How would they even know?
CLG rules said:
20.) If you have a gaming toolbar, remove it immediately, because they cause bugs and create unknown links that have a number/pound "#" sign. Ignore the warnings and there are consequences!
In 20+ years of gaming I have never heard of a gaming toolbar, but my guess is it became a recurring problem because their userbase is completely tech-incompetent and prone to running browsers that look like this:

Hypothesis supported by rule 25 (emphasis mine):
CLG rules said:
25.) No putting videos of logos that have footage of movies or TV programs. That includes beginning of movies or end of TV series where you have to skip to a certain section to show the logo, due to risk of termination of the user's account, especially those users on YouTube! These can also cause user's browser accounts to either slow down or crash. If possible, download the video and edit it on a movie editing software where it just has the logo.
The rule list has this super-important item. Without it, no one would have to follow any rules!

32.) Above all, please obey all rules. That is all.
Unrelated: One of their admins quit suddenly earlier this week.

Hey cool, this is now a Featured Thread! I feel special. :3

To celebrate, here's some more weird stuff that I've found over the years.

Logophile Spotlight: Dave "davemadson" Madson

6XmG9R1.png

The YouTuber "davemadson" was once a popular collector of logos, "bloopers", and dad jokes; his account was a triple Venn diagram of autism, the Barney Bunch, and Facebook humor and he garnered thousands of subscribers over the course of his YouTube career. Quinquagenarian davemadson is most well-known for his "series" Looney Tunes Intro Bloopers, Screen Gems S from Hell Bloopers, Tilt!, and The Adventures of Microsoft Sam & Friends.

Sadly, last year he supposedly deleted his account and called it quits, however his second account (which has no videos uploaded) still managed to get almost 3,000 subscribers. His reason for leaving the Internet was apparently because Windows XP was discontinued and that was the only OS he was comfortable using. Somehow, this translated into him deleting his entire account. Because autism. Fortunately, due to the nature of davemadson's audience, the original videos have been archived and reuploaded by fans. Let's take a look, shall we?

Looney Tunes Intro Bloopers

I'm not going to sugar coat this. This is all the series was. Despite this being a joke that literally only works maybe a couple of times, Looney Tunes Intro Bloopers went on to have a staggering ninety-two episodes produced.

A full playlist of the series can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgN-B1Cy8AZ5bHrcnGkXz4Yh9CkLuPwnC

Screen Gems S from Hell Bloopers

I cannot find a complete mirror of Screen Gems S from Hell Bloopers, so here's a "best of" compilation. 19 minutes of this shit.

Due to the easiness of creating videos like these, this spawned countless imitations and tribute videos. I've searched long and hard, but I feel like this one has the optimum amount of autism-to-duration ratio.

Tilt!

I don't understand Tilt!. I feel like this is some kind of meta humor that I am missing because this is yet another series that went on far longer than it should and every single episode repeated the same gag verbatim. Like the Screen Gems videos, this too spawned a million imitations so while the originals are fragmented and dispersed across multiple fan accounts there's also a ton of fanmade creations to watch as well.

In Closing
Davemadson was a strange middle-aged guy with strange hobbies and obsessions. His age firmly places him into the Baby Boomer generation, the one most often associated with logo obsession. He's harmless and amusing, and despite his sperginess I never saw a rude remark or comment from him on any video I stumbled upon. Overall, a decent guy with bad taste in humor. I leave you now with the legacy of davemadson:
