Just to confuse matters, "effects" is also a verb, but not the verb he was looking for.Affects. The verb form is affects, the noun form is effects, goddamn it. Don't even try and blame this on being sick.
Johnson can't settle... that's up to the client, and we all know that she won't. To a certain degree, he's married to her now... he'd have an uphill battle just to get excused from representing her, because he willingly took her on and he's all she has at the moment.Didn't Johnson say that Marchi has only paid $2500 of her 50,000 bill? How long do you keep working for with a discrepancy like that before you just ask to settle?
The real question is what sort of collection efforts he'd normally undertake if a client owed that much on their bill for that long.
