Well, I said they're often attracted to the threat of violence. So actual violence continues this image, but that doesn't mean they want the actual violence. That's why I called it a balancing act. If the negative of the violence outweighs his sexual value, she leaves. Different women have different thresholds. Some might leave at the first sign of violence. But they're usually the smarter ones who don't think with their genitals as much.
How do you know all this? I mean, besides anecdotes from butthurt loveshies and random sensationalist newspapers. Do you have studies which show this? Ah I forgot, academia is all part of the feminist conspiracy, amirite?

But if he hits his girlfriend/wife she'll find him even more attractive. So, according to the Love-Shy doctrine, there's nothing wrong with him. He's unlocked the puzzlebox to china.
Given his general misogyny, I'd say this is what he'd think that puzzlebox is like;

That would be true if there was nothing wrong with women being attracted to this behaviour. Our stance is that both violent men and behaviour that enables it is messed up.

You're being a bit picky over terminology here. If i say "vanilla is the best flavour" it isn't automatically fact. People state opinions as fact, depending on context to distinguish them.

I want to see the newspaper articles that back up your claims that a woman will endure "26 beatings" before she leaves her abuser.

My mother married a violent alcoholic, my sister devoted herself to a scummy dropout who would threaten suicide to keep her. Luckily she got with a decent guy in the last couple of years.

Why would she leave him? He sounds very attractive, what with the threats of violence that he never carried out against her.

Actually, I referenced the newspaper because it's considered politically correct and widely accepted. Of course, the paper exaggerated. A "beating" could be any small abusive action, like an insult.

Normally I would applaud this, but given your/the love-shy understanding of what makes a "decent guy," I'm seriously concerned for your sister's long-term happiness/safety.

I feel ya man. Whenever I say something like that, everyone freaks out. "Vanilla is the best flavor," "Whites are the best people," "Cats are the best pets." Ugh, why is everyone so sensitive?

It escalated until it outweighed his attractiveness.

Also, those guys have appeal as sexual partners, not as long term partners.

Maybe. But i've never hit someone IRL. If a guy can't control himself, somethings wrong with him.
I've never hit a girl either but some of them can be pretty dangerous when they're mad. I had some like that and often times the contrast between their fiery angry personalities and their sugary sweet passiveness the rest of the time is cute but it's no way to live your life.

Dude the shit your talking about happens to guys too.
