At least it's a game instead of a crappy visual novel. What role do the grumps play in developing official game grumps games, anyway? Wikipedia lists Arin as the co-producer of Dream Daddy next to Brent Lilley, and that's it. Does anyone know the extent that Arin participates in these projects? Just saying yes or no to whatever the team makes?

Realistically, Arin probably gives the group a sum of money to work on their project and in return he gets a considerable chunk of profit from sales. The group also gets to put the GameGrumps name on their work so they get a horde of lovelies to buy it all up without any worry.

To be fair making it free to play isn't a bad idea, a free game theoretically can have way more players from the fact anyone can play it right off the bat, as opposed to having it walled off by a small fee. Granted considering how few people are playing it they might've been better off just charging a fee up front, at least they would've made some money off of it.

I vaguely remember Ross saying he hated outback steakhouse and pulled the "It's a culture not a costume" thing.
I have no idea if he was serious, but as a non avid GG watcher he sounded like it, and I was pretty put off of him. I think it was their earthbound playthrough they never finished. (Which tbh I thank them for, as I looked for other EB lps and found Vinesauce ♡)

Either way, he dated fucking Holly the "asexual" so he's obviously a stupid level of woke. He still seems like a legit great guy though.

I think it's clever. The Lovelies don't strike me as the kind of people who'd actually buy games unless it's something as blatantly pandering as Dream Daddy. By making the game free, they guarantee they'll actually get plenty of fans and even haters to at least try it, and considering how profitable whales are, they don't even need a lot of players to make decent profit.

Even if this was just Ross being a troll, I vividly remember Oney saying the only few people that defended the show were people that didn't want to lose favors on the LA animation industry.

It wasn’t Earthbound but I found Vinesauce through Game Grumps too, kinda weird how GG introduced me to better lps and content creators because of how bad Arin is lmao

I've heard the same. I'll try to find it, but I watched a video with information from someone who was black listed from working in the industry. Apparently the inside of the cartoon industry is all very insular and echo-chambery, with talent and interesting ideas being tossed aside for... well, whatever the animation industry is now.

There's a lot of ass-kissing and sexual favors going on.
