Nah I doubt it, Sam would NEVER EVER think his own work is bad in ANY way, all of his stuff is perfect and doesn't need any help to improve it at all

I'm watching Satellite City due to how short the series is and it has so many problems:

1. The characters are too one-note or lack enough depth to make the "emotional" moments go deep.

2. The show has everyone constantly making pretentious philosophical statements.

3. The short episodes feel too pointless aside from one frame of "plot"

4. The Human character is the typical "The only human who is a misanthrope and knows da truth!" character that is grating at this point.

Also there is a lot of stock music that sounds like background music to a generic creepypasta reading, and the scary moments are too stupid to be taken seriously.

But it's no wonder Channel Awesome hired this guy because Satellite City reminds me of their shitty anniversary movies.

This is by far one of the most annoying parts of the series. It’s like Fennah took the works of Nietzsche, and put it into the mouths of the OCs. It also makes the series more incoherent. There is a way to bring philosophy into film, but bashing people over the head with a bunch of random philosophy junk is not a way to do it. Fennah probably thinks adding this stuff into his work makes him very smart. He isn’t that smart though if what you’re trying to say, no matter how “intelligent” the reference is, makes no sense.

So I'm going back through the stream for timestamps (incoming!). His shoutout to us Kiwi Farmers is at 00:09:55 if anyone's interested (tl;dw: Sam's not that bothered by us, and he's not going to change his ways because we're making fun of him).

Well he says he's not going to change, but I just got back to 00:12:45, and Sam's actually admitting that Satellite City has no plot, he doesn't have the animation skills/budget to properly animate it the way he wants, and what he really wants to focus on is writing books instead (reminder that Sam wrote Bionicle Revolution). I can't believe I missed that whole bit when I was watching live earlier!

Sam did read out some of the dialogue in his upcoming book (starting at 00:46:20). I'm sure his book on Ludwig explaining economics and trade differentials to Lucy will just fly off the shelves.

Ok, that Oom Pah Pah video...

i noticed this in the NC video too (or at least the summaries I watched of it).
STOP HAVING THEIR TAILS JUST FLOAT ABOUT POINTLESSLY.

I've never once seen a tailed animal that just waves its tail around for no reason. Tails express things and are part of communication, and the way that Lucy's tail moves makes it seem weirdly boneless. There's no direction it can't go. It's very distracting to have that tail just flailing around in the background for no reason.

The teeth are also horrible. They never open all the way. So she's talking through gritted teeth all the time. Ugly and bad.

Also, fuck you for wrecking that song. I too loved the movie Oliver! as a kid, and Nancy was my favorite character after Fagin. Oom Pah Pah is a song that I'll listen to on its own sometimes, but now I get to remember a creepy furbait OC slapping its crotch. That smack was far too loud and made me actually wince.

Anyone can add tags on e621 so it's entirely possible that someone other than the uploader added those tags. You can see tag history in the left sidebar.

I've been aware of this guy for a while, he pops up on my Twitter feed quite a bit. While I honestly loathed his character designs, I have some respect for him following his passion. 3D animation is a pretty difficult and time-consuming endeavor.

If he altered his designs and toned down on the edginess I think he might have an easier time getting work, but it doesn't seem like he wants to do that.

I'm still on the fence that this is actually Sam, personally. All of the images Viethra uploaded were on Sam's DeviantArt account first (and Viethra credits this too). Also, I looked through Viethra's comment history and I want to die some of the things Viethra says would be at odds with what we know about Sam.

So at this time, Viethra posts that they "don't think [the cheating picture] warrants such a serious conversation", whereas only half a year earlier Sam had an entire livestream where he was blowing up at people for not understanding his Bob=drugs allegory. And generally Sam likes to (think he can) say something meaningful/philosophical about life in his work. That seems like quite a contrast to Viethra's "it's just fiction, who gives a fuck" attitude in this post.
I mean, I'll admit that this is all circumstantial on the basis that Viethra isn't Sam. But surely that's the sane place to start?
