It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

College professor is fired after posting on Facebook that Iran should bomb the Mall of America and the Kardashians’ home in retaliation for the killing of Soleimani

  • Asheen Phansey,a college professor, was fired after suggesting Iran target American cultural sites with its missiles
  • This included the Mall of America and the Kardashians' home
  • Phansey has since been removed from his position at Babson College after an intense backlash
  • He later apologized, saying he regrets his 'bad attempt at humor'

A adjunct professor at a Massachusetts university was fired after suggesting Iran choose 52 American cultural sites - including the Mall of America and the Kardashians' home - to bomb in retaliation for the U.S. drone killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani.

Asheen Phansey, an adjunct professor at Babson College in Wellesley, made his 'attempt at humor' in a Facebook post shared on Tuesday.

'In retaliation, Ayatollah Khomenei should tweet a list of 52 sites of beloved American cultural heritage that he would bomb. Um… Mall of America? Kardashian residence?,' Phansey wrote.

This appears to be a riff on Iranian warnings that at least 35 U.S. targets, including warships and Tel Aviv, had been identified for retaliatory strikes.

The Facebook post has since been deleted, but not before Phansey's employers were alerted to the post.

In response, Babson College initially suspended him with pay.

In a statement shared Thursday, Babson College told WHDH that Phansey's post is not representative of their institution.

'Babson College condemns any type of threatening words and/or actions condoning violence and/or hate. This particular post from a staff member on his personal Facebook page clearly does not represent the values and culture of Babson College,' they wrote.

'While we understand he has deleted the posts, we have immediately suspended him, with pay, pending the completion of our investigation.'

In a statement released just hours later, Babson College revealed that Phansey was no longer a member of their staff.

'Based on the results of the investigation, the staff member is no longer a Babson College employee,' they said.

Phansey has since apologized for the Facebook post, saying he regrets that his 'sloppy humor' was perceived by many as a threat.

He told the Boston Herald: 'I regret my bad attempt at humor. As an American, born and raised, I was trying to juxtapose our ‘cultural sites’ with ancient Iranian churches and mosques.'

'I am completely opposed to violence and would never advocate it by anyone. I am sorry that my sloppy humor was read as a threat. I condemn all acts of violence.'

'I am particularly sorry to cause any harm or alarm for my colleagues at Babson, my beloved alma mater, and the place where I have enjoyed teaching students and serving as its sustainability director,' he said.

Phansey is currently working with a public relations firm to steer through the negative press he's received since the post began circulating.

FIRE, a national civil liberties nonprofit that defends student and faculty free expression, issued a statement to Babson College saying they must uphold their commitment to 'freedom of expression.'

'Babson College has terminated an adjunct professor for a personal Facebook post criticizing the President of the United States,' said Adam Steinbaugh, director of the Individual Rights Defense Program at FIRE.

'The professor's post is obvious rhetorical hyperbole and cannot reasonably be read as a threat, incitement, or even a sincere endorsement of violence,' he continued.

'Babson's process-free termination of the professor in an attempt to quell criticism on social media is censorship, plain and simple, and reveals Babson's stated commitment to freedom of expression to be worthless.'

His poorly timed joke comes off the heels of a tumultuous week between the U.S. and Iran after an airstrike killed a top Iranian military leader on January 3. Soleimani was killed by missiles outside Baghdad's International Airport around 12.03am local time after arriving from Syria.

Trump said in a press conference that Soleimani was killed to prevent a war, adding that the commander was plotting 'imminent and sinister' attacks against Americans.

'We took action last night to stop a war. We did not take action to start a war,' the president said in brief remarks at Mar-a-Lago on Friday.

Iranian officials and Soleimani's supporters have since vowed vengeance for the military leader's death.

President Hassan Rouhani said the U.S. has made a 'grave mistake' for by killing the leader of Iran's Quds force and will face consequences for years to come.

Rouhani has said that Iran has the right to seek revenge, saying that that retaliation will come when the 'dirty hands of the US' are removed from the region indefinitely.

The general was the architect of Iran's shadow warfare and military expansion in the Middle East and was targeted specifically because he was actively developing plans to kill members of the U.S. military and diplomats in the region.

'The Americans did not realize what a grave mistake they have made. They will suffer the consequences of such criminal measure not only today, but also throughout the years to come,' Rouhani said.

'This crime committed by the US will go down in history as one of their unforgettable crimes against the Iranian nation.'

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatolla Ali Khamenei visited Soleimani's family on Friday evening where he said the airstrike that killed the architect of the country's infamous militia was 'villainous'.

In a series of other tweets following the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the Trump administration as 'villainous' and condemned the airstrike.

'Hajj Qasem Soleimani had been exposed to martyrdom repeatedly, but in performing his duty & fighting for the cause of God, he didn't fear anyone or anything. He was martyred by the most villainous people, the US govt, & their pride in this crime is a distinguishing feature of him,' he wrote on Saturday.

He also warned Iran's 'enemies' that the Jihad of Resistance' supposed victory will be 'bitter.'

He wrote: 'All friends—& enemies—know that Jihad of Resistance will continue with more motivation & definite victory awaits the fighters on this blessed path. The loss of our dear General is bitter. The continuing fight & ultimate victory will be more bitter for the murderers & criminals.'

Earlier on Saturday, an Iranian official said at least 35 U.S. targets, including warships and Tel Aviv, have been identified for retaliatory strikes.

Iranian General Gholamali Abuhamzeh, a Revolutionary Guards commander in the southern province of Kerman, made the threat a day after Quds Force leader General Qassem Soleimani was killed at the Baghdad International Airport by a U.S. airstrike.

Abuhamzeh said vital American targets in the region had been identified a 'long time ago', including ships in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and Tel Aviv.

'The Strait of Hormuz is a vital point for the West and a large number of American destroyers and warships cross there … some 35 U.S. targets in the region as well as Tel Aviv are within our reach,' he said, according to Reuters.

Hezbollah, an Islamic political and militant group, has also warned Iraqi soldiers to stay at least 1,000 meters away from U.S. military bases from Sunday onwards.

Trump responded to the threat on Twitter, saying the U.S. has targeted 52 Iranian sites that could be hit 'very fast and hard.'

'Iran is talking very boldly about targeting certain USA assets as revenge for our ridding the world of their terrorist leader who had just killed an American, & badly wounded many others, not to mention all of the people he had killed over his lifetime...' Trump wrote.

'Including recently, hundreds of Iranian protesters. He was already attacking our Embassy, and preparing for additional hits in other locations. Iran has been nothing but problems for many years. Let this serve as a WARNING that if Iran strikes any Americans, or American assets, we have....'

'targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD. The USA wants no more threats!'

It would be a waste of a bomb and against Iran's anti-American mantra, as the Mall of "America" is hardly American where the majority of customers are foreign tourists visiting based on reading twenty-year-old information, only to find rows of empty storefronts and Somali subhumans.

SSSHHH DON'T TELL THEM THAT, we'll finally get rid of the somalians!

Here's a good one, for a change. This gentleman made a prothesis so a young girl could play the violin. This man is worth about one billion each of Harry the Eunuch and Meghan the Grifter. I don't know why the pictures didn't come out. But they are available at the link.

The gift of music

ST. JOHNS — Fourth grader Valerie Romero is just like most nine-year-old girls in the area. She goes to St. Johns Middle School, plays with her friends, paints her nails, and she plays violin in music class. But, until recently, no one knew just how good of a violin player she really is. That was because Valerie was born a little differently and did not have the availability of both of her hands, which is necessary to play the instrument. But that all changed this month, thanks to local resident Nate Kellogg.

The gift of music

Valerie Romero, 9, can play the violin by herself, thanks to Nate Kellogg, father of three children.

Kellogg’s children – Carter, Emily and Clara – came home from school one afternoon and told him about a special little girl with one arm who needed help holding her violin and bow at the same time. During class, she could only practice the fingering of the notes, but could not play along like everyone else could due to this limitation. Kellogg, an apprentice mechanic at the Tucson Electric Power plant, knew he had to find a way to help Valerie.

Kellogg began to look at his various tools at work and asked his coworkers for help on the project.
“I got to talking to the guys at work, and there is an instrument holder that would work perfect. It was already made and something you could buy online,” Kellogg said. The device was adjustable, requiring only the turn of some knobs and it would hold a violin bow tightly.

The next step, after identifying the right tool, would be how to create a working prosthesis based around the instrument holder.

“I did some research online and figured out what to do, but I didn’t have the tools to do what [prosthesis makers] do. So, I did the next best thing. When I was in the military, there was this stuff called thermoplastic and that would mold to her arm.” Thermoplastic is a type of plastic material that becomes flexible and moldable in very hot water, and it hardens into shape as it cools back to room temperature.

This process can be repeated as necessary in order to get the correct shape or form desired. Thermoplastic products are now widely available on the internet and even in some art supply stores. It was the perfect material to help get a custom fit for Valerie’s arm, and it took only a few tries to get a custom fitting socket for the prosthesis.
“Once we decided we were going to do it, it took about a week,” Kellogg said, when asked how long the process took to make Valerie’s new bow holder.”

“It was just a matter of getting together and getting the supplies and everything.”

As Valerie grows, the prosthetic will need to be updated, but for now, it’s working perfectly. She is quickly excelling in playing the violin now that she has the new prosthetic and she was ready to play alongside her fourth-grade counterparts for the Christmas concert Dec 16. With glitter in her hair and her new prosthetic arm on, she helped her class perform a Christmas classic, “Gloria (Angels We Have Heard on High).” On the last day of school before winter break, Dec. 20, she even played for the middle school assembly, impressing her fellow orchestra students with her skill. One middle school orchestra student remarked that she played “as good as a seventh grader!”
“I just think this is amazing,” Ruthie Price, the orchestra teacher for St. Johns Middle School, said of Valerie’s new prosthesis. “For this little girl, it’s really something.”

Valerie’s mother, Amalinda Gonzales and grandmother Bernadette Padilla, think so, too. They expressed how grateful they were for Kellogg for working to give Valerie such an incredible gift. To them, this wasn’t just a simple tool, but an example of what the Christmas season is all about: giving selflessly to others who are in need.

Seventeen children and six adults are being treated after an aircraft approaching LAX apparently dumped fuel on an elementary school playground in Cudahy on Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The incident was reported in the 8000 block of Park Avenue, the Fire Department tweeted shortly before 12:30 p.m.

A total of 23 patients complained of minor injuries and were triaged at the scene, officials said. Seventy firefighters and paramedics have responded to the multicasualty incident.

Officials did not provide the name of the school, but Sky5 video showed multiple first responder units — including ambulances — at the scene of Park Avenue Elementary School, which is about 14 miles east of Los Angeles International Airport.

Initial reports indicated the area smelled of jet fuel after the drop, but firefighters are still working to confirm the type of substance, according to the department.

The plane, a Delta Airlines Boeing 777, had mechanical issues and landed safely at LAX just before noon, according to an airport spokesperson.

Obviously the chemtrail sprayers malfunctioned, resulting in the school getting an overdose of the mind control chemicals.

It could have been worse. Someone could have lit up a cigarette and tossed the match. Usually when fuel is dumped it's done at a rather higher altitude, and often over water/uninhabited areas so this doesn't happen. Makes you wonder how long that plane was dumping fuel. Luckily the plane had enough to get to LAX.

GERMANS have become 'obsessed' with refugee porn after the country took in more than one million migrants.

Interest in the fetish has rocketed since Angela Merkel opened the country's doors in 2015 sparking a European migrant crisis.

Specialist film companies have even been set up in Germany which only deal in so-called 'refugee porn' and 'hijab porn'.

Google searches for both categories have also rocketed over the past four years while popuar x-rated sites including YouPorn and Pornhub list hundreds of related clips.

According to data from the popular adult content platform "xhamster" a tiny fraction of its searches were for refugee porn in 2015.

However, since then interest has rocketed and this year that number is expected to hit a million - every month.

And that is on just one porn platform.

Some reports claim right wing fanatics are particularly obsessed because they want to see struggling "immigrants" further humiliated.

What is so-called refugee porn?
Most films show actresses made to look like they are from the Middle East in subjugated roles. In explicit scenes, they are usually shown being dominated sexually by white males. A main feature in many of these x-rated film productions is the wearing of the hijab.
The headwear often stays on even when all other garments have been taken off. Some of the refugee porn movies also feature the Arabic language.

This is seen as a further attempt to present migrants as mysterious objects of sexual desire.

But one German anthropologist told InfoMigrants that he believes sexuality is a "means to familiarise yourself with things that are alien to you."

"By approaching new phenomena from a sexual angle we get to understand these things better," said Professor Jakob Pastötter,

"People want to experience at the very least a rudimentary link between the sexual acts they view and themes from everyday life, as is the case with refugee porn."

It has also been reported there was also a surge in searches in the UK shortly before the Brexit vote in June 2016 and during the election in the summer of 2017.

While entire production studios have been set up, old videos are also being edited and updated to cash in one the craze, reports the German news site Zeit Online.

In some cases, new keywords were simply added to older internet clips after 2015.

The credits for one video, for example, show that it was made in 2003 and that its was newly uploaded in 2017 with the keywords "refugee" and "Syrian."

It shows a white man having sex with a woman wearing a headscarf.

Female Welcome Zone Sparks Segregation Row

A RADICAL proposal for dedicated “female welcome spaces” for young women in public areas has been adopted by a Western Sydney council, sparking a furious response from some residents who are warning against segregation.

The City of Canterbury Bankstown originally planned to call the areas “female safe zones”, which would have been marked with special signage, but scrapped the name after community feedback found the word “safe” was unnecessary.

“Their responses revealed they did not feel in danger or at risk in Canterbury-Bankstown, and there was no evidence to suggest “Female “Safe” Zones’ was an identified need based on a specific issue or request,” the spokesman said.

He said the female welcome spaces would “seek to ensure public places are welcoming for all women and girls through education”.

But local Ushen Isaac is worried the idea sends the wrong message to the community.

“It shouldn’t be women only. It should be mixed. It’s absolutely wrong to segregate,” he said.

“When you separate one that’s the time it starts all the issues. Everybody should be included.

“It all comes down to a lack of education in a society. If people are educated then they won’t make others feel unsafe.” A background report on council’s Youth Plan, where the plan emanated from, said there was an “identified need” for “safety in public spaces including addressing safety for women such as catcalling”.

About one in five people in the local government area — or 20.8 per cent of residents — follow Islam, according to 2016 Census data.

Mona Mahamed is the founder of Community Support Services in Bankstown and is strongly supportive of the female welcome spaces idea, saying that Muslim women “tend to like” segregation.

“Over 80 per cent of our clients are women and girls,” she said. “For Muslim women ... they open up with other women and be themselves. Women connect so well together. It can be their respite time or their ‘me’ time. A lot of mental illnesses exist through isolation and feeling alone ... having a safe space would help that.” Bankstown mum Media Abubakir said segregated spaces can help people from immigrant backgrounds better integrate into the community.

“A woman-only space would be nice. They’ve got one like that in Lakemba I think. It helps you better integrate. But it depends on what facilities they have in there,” she said.

“It would help us get to know the women in the community. It’s sometimes hard to socialise as a young mum. I feel more comfortable in segregated (spaces).” Canterbury-Bankstown council also offer women-only swimming at Wran Leisure and Aquatic Centre.

But a council spokesman said the female welcome spaces idea “certainly did not arise in relation to any culture or religion”.

Local councillor Linda Eisler said men would not be excluded from the spaces, which will be designed to help women find activities they enjoy in the community.

“It’s not about having women-only, it’s about having a space that they would find has things they want to do in that space,” she said.

Deputy Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said that with the growing population “youth and diversity friendly public spaces are even more critical”.

“Many spaces like skate parks mainly attract boys, therefore it is important we make public spaces equally attractive and welcoming to young girls,” he said.

Muslim Women’s Association executive officer Maha Abdo said women in general are “feeling unsafe” at the moment. “I see a lot of women are not actually venturing out as much before not because of local area being unsafe but just being unsafe altogether,” she said.

“But I don’t know that having a physical space will help — I certainly don’t want it to be fenced”.

The council spokesman said the Youth Action Plan was recently adopted and will be implemented over the next four years.

“As public spaces are improved, the design principles will include crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) — initiatives with the local community and other services will be developed to make areas in our community more comfortable and welcoming for all girls and women,” he said.

Bankstown resident Pamela Leopardi praised the idea as she sometimes feels “a bit awkward on the street here”.

Acupuncturist Amy Duong agreed it was a “great idea”.

“It’s good because there are certain areas where (locals) they want ladies only but how they go about it is a tricky thing,” she said.Women-only gatherings and public spaces have gained popularity. There is a women-only swimming pool at Hampstead Heath in London.

Florida man burns child with cigar as part of spiritual ceremony, police say
PFSPQW7XUVCY5CM5JYJN6RYZDM.jpg

A Florida man is accused of burning a 14-year-old boy with a cigar during a spiritual ceremony early Sunday, authorities said.
Jaime Javier Amoguea Fonseca, 32, of Tampa, was charged with child abuse-torture, according to a probable cause affidavit by the Tampa Police Department.

Officers responded to a Tampa residence at 1:30 a.m. and found the boy, who said he was burned by Amoguea Fonseca during a Santeria ceremony, WFLA reported.

According to police, the boy said he did not want to participate in the ceremony, and that Amoguea Fonseca, who was invited by the teen’s mother, burned the youth’s back with a lit cigar, according to the affidavit.

Santeria is an Afro-Caribbean religion that was created out of the slave trade in Cuba, WFLA reported. The ceremony uses rituals to communicate with spirits.

According to the affidavit, the boy said Amoguea Fonseca approached him from behind, lifted up his shirt and pressed a cigar against his back,
Amoguea Fonseca told deputies he was possessed by spirits during the ceremony and said the teen accidentally brushed up against his cigar while walking past him, the affidavit said.

According to the police affidavit, Amoguea Fonseca told the officer he loses control of his body and is unaware of what is happening when he is possessed by spirits.

Amoguea Fonseca was arrested and booked into the Hillsborough County Jail at 2:55 a.m., according to the report.

South Africa’s Rastafarians Demand Justice After Local Businessman Dies In Police Custody

Rastafarians in South Africa’s Wellington township are demanding police accountability following the in-custody death of a local businessman and father.

Jan de Bruin, 48, allegedly died at the hands of police last month after cops raided his home looking for drugs, South African outlet Independent Online reported. Family members said police assaulted de Bruin and others inside the home after he asked to see a search warrant.

The local man was taken into custody, where he later died. Now the Rasta community is calling on police for answers.

“We call for an urgent investigation of Wellington police station where Jan de Bruin died in custody,” activist Ras Hein Scheepers told a crowd of protesters Sunday after marching to their local police precinct.

De Bruin’s beating and subsequent death have drawn collective outrage among community members, who’ve accused police of wanton brutality and violating their civil rights.

“There exists a culture of disrespect and impunity among perpetrators of human rights violations among [South African Police Service] and local government law enforcement agencies,” said protest organizer Mr. Gareth Prince, according to the news site.

He added: “These abuses cannot be allowed to continue within the state of South Africa, perpetuated by individuals employed in the public service.”

Protesters have also put the pressure on SAPS to suspend the officers involved in de Bruin’s death.

Police executed a drug raid on the man’s home on Dec. 14 during which officers say they were attacked, leading to a “scuffle between the [SAPS] members and residents.” The victim’s relatives painted a much different picture, saying they witnessed officers beat De Bruin and his friends.

De Bruin’s cousin, Anna de Bruin, believes her cousin was targeted.

“Because he is a Rasta they [police] assumed he sold [weed], but he didn’t,” she told Independent Online. “They [police] did not find anything, so we have no idea why they were even here. They have always targeted him, destroying his place.”

Rastafarianism, also known as a Rastafari, is an Abrahamic religion and social movement born out of Jamaica in the 1930s. The belief combines elements of Protestant Christianity, mysticism and pan-African political consciousness, according to the Encyclopedia Britannica.

Anna described her cousin as a successful businessman who sold fruit and herbs, and would sometimes make small cars out of wire. The day after his arrest, Anna De Bruin learned her cousin had passed.

“It was very painful for us,” she said. “There was nothing we could do.”

A police spokesman confirmed that an investigation into De Bruin’s death has been launched.

“An inquest and a case of attempted murder have been opened for investigation after an incident occurred at Colibri Street in Wellington,” they said.

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is also looking into the incident. So far, no arrests have been made.
