Encounters With SJWs/Tumblristas Offline or In Unusual Communities

Friend took me to a gathering of sorts. It was a SJW beehive. There I'd a pot-bellied homosexual try and woo me into bed because I've an epicene face. Eerie compliments like "Are you from the future?!", fluky touches of my jacket's side-front and a rapey attitude of "aRe YoU sUrE yOu'Re NoT gAy?" ensued. That and a hilarious rage-fit followed by rumors of my intolerance. What triggered all this, ya might ask? Me telling him that I'm "open minded". Solved it there and then by saying that I am a non-binary lesbian.

That's not new. In 2005 I had a gay bloke come on to me and when I told him that I didn't want to go with him because he had a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp, he accused me of "leading him on" and that I was pretending to be receptive just to reject him. I explained that this was another reason why I didn't fancy him. Next time I saw him he was with this emo specimen and when he saw me they started making out aggressively in my direction as if to show what I could have had.

As for knitting, that post is fucking exceptional. So going to India is problematic and white saviour-y. That is the most autistic criticism I have ever seen of anything.

Oh no you absolutely should reject them with a capital R. Maybe that way they'll remember that not only they themselves have 'safe spaces'. In hindsight the shitty encounter made me realize how women feel when weird fucks try to chat them up, so there's some enlightenment in that. The problem is that a lot of people are now brought up to be kind and considerate of the needs of others even before their own. Had I re-lived that encounter I'd tell him to fuck off. (Not that his sort ever get to 'fuck on' anyhow.)
Being dtf to someone is not kind action, is born out of love not pity. Of course you should have told this dude to fuck off and to suck some lady dick elsewhere.
Modern society is kinda fuck up by getting sympathy to people that don't deserve any. Look at rapefugees in yurop or tranners everywhere, they act like total monsters, mooslims and troons have one thing in common, consent is haram.
And the next time don't go to sjw spaces or faggy ones. Always hang out on normie's spaces, you know, what salty friendless redditards hate right now.

I think someone who went to the Anita Sarkeesian School of Thought (the 'everything is sexist, racist, and homophobic and you have to point it all out' thinking) got ahold of it and decided 'oh my god, a white woman is going to a country with brown people? RAYSIS!' and it snowballed. I've been part of the 'community' for years (though distancing myself now because of this) and before this, the worst thing to happen was a stolen pattern or copyright issues. Fucking unreal.

Not sure if this has been discussed in this thread yet or not (I just found this a few days ago, haven't had time to skim all 100+ pages) but I will never understand how a hobby as innocuous as knitting got such a rabid SJW community. Honestly the founder of Ravelry (biggest crafting website out there to my knowledge) probably deserves a thread himself for how big of a cow he is, but I don't care enough to make one. I'm just scratching my head. I get that it's primarily women, and at this point primarily Millennial women, but why politics? Also, I've yet to see anyone in the crochet community be affected by this. Every single one of the drama mongerers were knitters.
So, in early 2019, some woman posted an article on her website, Fring Association, talking about her upcoming trip to India. I'm just going to post links because holy shit. If you want evidence that apologizing gets you nowhere, just read this and this and then understand the apology did NOTHING.

Anyway, lady apologizes, it doesn't matter, blah blah blah. I actually saw someone get told to fuck off for saying 'let's focus on the art rather than the designers'.

Later in the year, a gay man in the community comes out with a hashtag, #diversknitty. He tells people to use it for calm, respectful discussion. Then HE gets shit on for 'tone policing' the 'BIPOC' community. It actually ended with him checking into a mental hospital from the stress. And people STILL didn't stop. Seriously, what the fuck?

By the end of the year, Ravelry banned support of Trump. Only Trump. They didn't ban any other political discussion. Then the founder came out as trans like a day later. Whoever made the announcement claimed they'd only censor posts supporting Trump, but there is evidence they censor conservatives in general.
I almost wish it was still something women younger than 80 got made fun of for so I could enjoy my favorite hobby in relative peace. Good Lord.

For some reason, in the early 00’s, knitting had a sudden surge of popularity. And one of the groups it attracted was the proto-SJW hipster crowd, with their dyed hair and ironically ugly glasses, who seemed to think that taking up a formerly grandma-tier hobby made them fun and quirky.

I don’t know why, but I always got the feeling that this particular crowd was also the one who eventually became the absolute yarn snobs, sneering at anybody who used things like acrylic yarn from the chain craft store instead of hand-dyed organic alpaca wool at $25 a skein from their local yarn shop. And those types always seem to look down their noses at crocheting, like it's the yarn craft for plebs.

I guess what I'm saying is that I'm not entirely surprised that the knitting community has a rabid SJW infestation, because I think they're just the evolved form of holier-than-thou hipsters, which the crochet community seems to have managed to somehow avoid.

I pointed out that it's Latin. She said that Latin and English are the same. She hates colonialist languages, so she doesn't care about Latin. Real languages like Spanish were what people should speak.
But Spanish is a romance language (derived from Latin), hell by her logic we shouldn't speak any Indo-European language at all.

I’ve actually met people like this, usually people into coding. They thumb their noses down at “euro centric” languages like Spanish and are into hip and trendy languages like Esperanto. I just roll my eyes and move on with my day.

Oh yes, I recall seeing something about an unroar in the knitting community (which I didn't know existed) over a knitting blogger writing an excited (and innocuous) blog post about going to India.

Reminds me of the ukulele fad.

Fun fact is that the Sikh people liked Esperanto at first as it appealed to their idea of universality but didn't like how Eurocentric it was.

I brought this up on the Social Justice Warrior thread, but now I will talk about it here.

I have an SJW coworker who is not only smug and self-righteous, but he's unsurprisingly hypocritical too. For one thing, when it comes to humor and entertainment, he prefers to "error on the side of sensitivity" and be offended on other people's behalf. Lo and behold, he's a young white male from an upper-middle class background. He's also openly gay (and he has AIDS too resulting from all his activities), loves getting drunk and high (he gloats about being a party animal), and he's supposedly a very religious liberal Methodist. However, he also believes that everyone's religious beliefs are equally valid. He's cringy, obnoxious, and stereotypical in every way you could imagine.

Recently, I unintentionally offended him by sharing an old Simpsons joke with him. It was this one:

If the link doesn't work, just skip to 21 seconds. It seemed harmless to me, but he said it's from 30 years ago and lacking in any sensitivity so therefore, according to him, it can't be funny. I replied that anything can be funny, but he said he disagrees. I just let it go after that, since we're at work and I don't want to get in trouble over something stupid.

That being said, sometimes he's okay to work with. He's been showing more and more of his true colors though lately.

We will took pictures of that tapas my dude, best food on earth alongside burgers.
Seriously, you anglo folks are lucky, you know how sjws damage society, we in my country we just got a far leftist government. We don't have that much of experience with sjws. We will become the southern sweden getting violent migrants, new tranny laws and letting the autists running our government.
That would be quite fearsome if SJWs could evolve their tactics, the new targets wouldn't stand a chance. There's a reason all the European, North American & Australian megafauna are extinct, by the time humans got there hunting tactics improved enough that they had no time to adapt before we killed them all.

Reactions: tasty humane burger
In class the other day we were going through the typical orientation stuff. How grades work, emails, what materials to bring, that kind of stuff. Then we got to the section about preferred pronouns and such, it was really funny.
For context, the class is me and 11 retired guys, 5 of whom were vets of either Vietnam or Korea. I can assure you, pronouns were not going to be an issue.
Just kind of funny that it’s in the syllabus now.

Do I want to know what the class was, considering who was in it?
