Onion is an idiot. He has just about zero chance of winning a civil case for harassment. He might have a chance just filing for a restraining order. That would at least keep Hansen off his front stoop. I don't think he's smart enough to use the kids to keep the case sealed. I think he is banking on the court having sympathy for children. He wouldn't be able to keep his mouth shut about the results of the case anyway, so sealing the records wouldn't help him.

This is an interesting turn of events. So he has what looks to be a basic civil lawsuit (probably harassment/stalking). He is using the kids for the Hansen lawlsuit.. why? This is overblown. He's in the middle of a divorce; that debt is joint marital debt. Neither of them is going to pay any of it until they hammer out an agreement on how it gets divided up. Why would he keep paying the mortgage on a house that's going to be liquidated to pay debts and the rest divided between them? If he paid the IRS or credit card now, he'd be paying his ex's debt, too. In a contentious divorce with a lot of debt, this is common.

Honestly, I wouldn't blame either of them for doing it. Repzion already has and I see the logic. It's total bullshit and will be dismissed so this is a play on Gruggles part to shake them down so to speak. No one is saying he could actually pay the damages. That doesn't mean they won't be awarded. If I went to a lawyer with all of the facts laid out, they'd likely recommend a countersuit. If he does have more money than he's letting on, that's a neat little pay day for them. His bullshit would never hold up in court.

Without PL I'm fairly certain that when it comes to civil cases with evidence like this, they will want fees, but they will eagerly take it because a countersuit would likely go in their favor.
