Super Smash Bros.

Rather bold assumption considering that continuing the game's development is all Sakurai's decision and not Nintendo's.
After seeing how they're going to monitize pokemon, I'm fully expecting a smash brothers mobile game that's nothing but Bejeweled but with a video of Nintendo guys fighting in the background that you can purchase.

It's way more than 6, do you think they're just going to allow their gravy train to run dry?

They're in a position where they're going to need to release a whole new system in order to handle ports that come over from the PS5 or they won't have third party support at all. You're going to get a Deluxe Edition of Switch Smash brothers which was just a deluxe edition of the Wii-U one. They're going to have people spend a full 60 on the base game+DLC all over again just to buy more DLC for whatever comes after the Switch.
I'd really like to dive into the whole subject of the dichotomy between PS5-level games and games that run on low-end mobile hardware, but that's a topic for another thread.

Frankly, I'm surprised we haven't seen a deluge of echo fighters yet. Just zhuzh up some old character models and wham bam, you've got yourself a new character you can sell for $5 a pop.

Still waiting for Doomguy or Travis Touchdown. There are a bunch of others I want, but their games are not on Switch or franchise is dead (I miss Amaterasu from Okami and Jack Cayman...), regardless I'm actually interested on Dante if he gets in, costume or playable character.

Those would be great, but I'll take any American character at this point. Dark Samus doesn't count, and the Sans and Cuphead costumes don't count. I'd love to see something that's just unknown or unpopular in Japan so we can see Japanese hoes mad.

A bit of a weak reveal, especially for the last character of this DLC pack. His moves aren't that unique when you get down to it, though they look real cool (that nair where he spins the bow). No reason to get upset though.

I like that we are getting indie representation through Mii costumes. I would love to see Hollow Knight as sword fighter, even if I think he has enough moves to be his own character.

Also this dude called it 6 months ago

The real redpill in why Smash has desproportionally so many FE characters:
*Easy to make since everyone look the same and have basically the same moves except a couple of differences
*Nintendo thinks that its good strategy to promote FE in the west

While i'm not fond of at least 10%/15% of the character roster being generic weeb anime boys and a franchise with a moderate sucess having the same and even bigger representation than fucking Mario and Zelda, the Smash character's speculation community (why this even exists) it's a fucking spergatory. 90% of the time this people never guessed any of the fucking characters and they have the most exceptional wars possible for fictional characters. "But muh Geno. But muh Rayman. But muh Isaac. But muh Sora".

Also, the spergs that have an unironic emotional relationship with a corpoation are a delight to watch. From the fucks that lick Nintendo's boots for putting a character that no one wanted on the game and was not really necessary to the other fucks that would probably kidnap Sakurai to have their virtual waifus/husbandos on a fucking videogame. If you think that a particular character doesnt fit the game or you dont like it, then dont preorder the DLC you dumb fuck. It's the Pokemon shit all over again: people bitching about Nintendo and gang decisions but the enabling their shit by buying it anyway. Its the consoomer cycle

The big reason why it has so high representation is that it introduces new characters every game, When was the last playable, fully realized Character in the Mario series introduced? One that could be made into a Smash character? Mario doesn't get new characters because the franchise is effectively at 100% of it's actual characters already. They already scrapped the bottom of the Barrel with Bowser Jr..and nobody who isn't a faggot likes Bowser Jr.

And before any of you spergs even say you like Jr..yes that means you are a fucking faggot..go suck Troon cock.

I can't wait to see when the inevitable Pokemon announcement comes and people just memory hole what happened with Byleth and be hype about it because fuck you that why.
That's why I'm sure it'll blow over. Remember Incineroar? They were another character that was expected but not too widely anticipated, so when they got in we had plenty of teeth grinding and accusations of pokebias and so on. People jumped in and turned him into a trolling symbol, said they loved him because he made people mad. When the game came out? He was just another character to play as.

Can we just appreciate how stupid and autistic that was, "The Heel Themed Wrestling Pokemon in a FIGHTING GAME" How the fuck do you think that isn't gonna happen at some point.

Ita something that has a certain logic but I disagree in some points. Pokemon its the franchise that has the most possible ammount of fighters but usually introduces one character per game. Fire Emblem puts at least two of them like every game. However, this could be just because Pokemon usually introduces more interactive Pokemon on the stages. The truth can be just down to easy to make, they have new characters with the new games and "buy our weeb chess games because it worked with Melee".

Pokemon its the franchise that most possible fighters but usually introduces one character per game.
Most pokemon aren't exactly "Main fighter" Material though, they usually get "the battle themed iconic pokemon of that generation."

You get Lucario, Greninja and Inceneroar all of which are "Martial Artists" and pokemon trainer who makes up for the fact that each pokemon's move set is sort of bland with having the switch out stuff.

Little Mac in smash 4 was almost completely unknown in Japan, because he was a only such a major success in America as a result of the Mike Tyson tie in. The most recent punch out was also done by a Canadian company. There was some salt from Japan back then because of those things.

honestly, when Sakurai said that the direct was supposed to be shown on november it made me think that the pokemon direct was supposed to be on NOV as well, save the last disappointment for the end of 2019 I bet. there gonna be a few fired PR soon.

Not gonna lie, I thought Byleth would be in the second pass.

Not mad though, I'm always up for more Fire Emblem reps that aren't just a counterer...

I loved that Sakurai actually explained why they have counters, but I loved it even more that he was basically trolling everyone.

Even better when the salt was coming...

Oh, that makes sense, along with how the Japanese version of Punch-Out is entirely in English. There was an episode of Game Center CX where the host couldn't read the dialog.
