Corrissa, your skin is nowhere near that smooth. You’re also much fatter in real life. Don’t flatter yourself too much, that artist used a lot of artistic license to make this.

To be fair, makeup mogul Helena Rubinstein said back in the 1930’s “there are no ugly women, just lazy ones.” This idea that if you work hard enough at looking attractive then you can achieve it has been around forever, though prior to the 1850’s, the notion was that sweet pure thoughts, pious hard work, filial devotion and generally being the pure feminine ideal would add to your outer beauty. That and washing your face with the dew off plants on May Day morning, and other tripe.

Helena’s quote is not true...all the makeup in the world can’t fix a face like Virgie Tovar’s...but it sells product. The notion that you can be pretty if you just work at it enough has gone on forever, but recently been replaced with “fuck it, you’re beautiful anyway, stop beating yourself up and trying to be something you’re not.”

A noble sentiment and one meant to take the burden of “never good enough” off the shoulders of everyday women...but someone somewhere always has to make money, so it’s become EMPOWERING YASS QUEEN to buy endless self-care products to celebrate one’s inherent beauty, etc.
Loved the Beauty in a Jar documentary.

She's so off putting, a middle-aged woman playing a teenager. Normally I'd consider it someone acting up a caricature for YouTube but I think she really is that emotionally stunted based on that video, and of course the fact, her being grossly obese. She didn't even have basic ingredients like butter and sugar on hand which tells everyone she not only doesn't bake, but also doesn't cook for herself.

She didn't even have GARLIC POWDER, perhaps one of the most basic bitch cooking ingredients to exist. Her fridge seriously must be a barren wasteland of leftover takeout (if she manages not to eat it all) and soda pop.

Could be wishful thinking on my end, but if you look at the bottom of the fridge, the shelves are a little slanted, but the one under Glitter is significantly more slanted. Is she breaking the fridge?

H-E-B didn’t deserve that, Anna. They’ve been bringing us low prices since 1905.

Just stepping in to bring you some more depressing body posi before and after comparisons . Ft the ever growing Sierra Schultzzie...

What I've never understood about gainers is they have to go through the effort of adding to their diet with the explicit goal of gaining in a way that proves FA's "diets don't work, my body was meant to look like this" mantra wrong but somehow they're still celebrated, stunning and brave individuals for working at getting larger on purpose. Fucks the head, it does.

Is this some kind of self-aware joke about how her body didn't actually change? Probably not because that would be a mockery of the people who screech in earnest on social media about how pregnancy changes bodies, shitlords, deal with it.

But I mean her titties swelled up; that happens to everyone. Other than that she looks... exactly the same :story:

Obesity and pregnancy: complications and cost (American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 2000)
Mothers understand the importance of giving up alcohol during pregnancy. Many also cut out things like caffeine, or avoid litterboxes to prevent toxoplasmosis. It's bad enough to punish your own body with 200 extra pounds but making it a generational cycle and being proud of it? oof
It be really interesting to read a meta-analsysis of current research to see how much worse it is now since most of their sources are from 1985 to 2000 and the weights we discuss now are insanely huge compared to then. If you notice its BMI over 25/26.

Someone like Jay who seems to be about 5' if he weights 500 his bmi is 97 if he weights 600 its 117. No where near as low as the BMIs that were normed and discussed in the literature.

Most people at a weight like J's aren't getting pregnant without IVF and even if at that. The sample size would be too small for anything definitive and the results are likely going to be the same with more weight increasing the risk factor of all complications and morbidities.

That is true I was trying to set an extreme example, but the average BMI is defintely over that so it makes me wonder if its exponentionally effects the results or if its more linear.
