This is a formula healthy adults usually use to make friends, there is a lot to be said for bonding over a shared hobby/fandom in-person. While this kind of activity is what will actually impact his depression in a positive manner, I just don't see him ever actually coming to that realization because at his tubby little core Quinton is just a starfucker.

He's talking about a weirdo uncovering all of his content, not him uncovering someone else's. It sounds like he's aspiring to be like Jim Davis, not Quinton. Even for his fans, Quinton is always the side character, never the protagonist.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it already, but the idea of a true and honest anti-capitalist leftist being really into Garfield is also pretty ironic considering it may be the most capitalistic, commercialized newspaper comic strip to ever exist. It's basically the anti-Calvin and Hobbes in that regard.
