Social Justice Warriors - Now With Less Feminism Sperging

I just came back from a (lulzy + cringe worthy) feminist conference that had early 20's girls spouting Tumblr-isms. Does this count? I had to agree with them when I left early tho. A trigger warning should be issued before the speaker goes on a racist, offensive and genital mutilation tirade. Also calling someone I know a strong woman who was a victim of white government, and not including that this person is a sad sack of shit whose son is a pedo rapist. -- Which also included raping his sister for years.

I think really, with reason, trigger warning probably could do with existing, especially for heavy stuff like war, rape and such that leaves a lot of mental scars on people.

But then you have people suggesting triggers like "patriarchy" or "white people" and... yeah that's just ensuring the reasonable ones won't exist anytime soon.

I don't really have a problem with the concept of trigger warnings; in theory they should be no different than movie or video game ratings, which also warn of potential "problematic" content.

But how do you do it in practice, when everyone is "triggered" by something different?

Soldiers with PTSD don't get trigger warnings but deserve them for serving their respective countries. These shitheels think they are entitled to them. No sympathy for the latter. Entertainment media are different from real life, Tumblr goons. Go outside and live, then you'll know that like we do.

The only time I will ever accept the term trigger warning to be used in a serious context is in the case of people who legitimately have PTSD. Anyone else who claims them is a pansy who shits on the courage, grit, and blood sacrifice of their ancestors who labored to get them the cushy first-world lifestyle they have today. You're going to have struggle in your life. You're going to encounter things that make you uncomfortable, sometimes even afraid. People will hurt you, both physically and emotionally. Get over it, or fight back if you've got the guts, because running away, covering your ears and going "LALALA I CAN'T SEE YOU" makes you just another weakling for the wolves of society to victimize. There are too few sheepdogs to guard the flock, they don't need Tumblrinas making their job harder.

I think we need to take at an example of the correct way to talk about privilege. SJWs take note

Catchy, intelligent, and they are not talking shit about any one group of people. Most importantly, they do their homework and look at the larger picture.

^^
(Long-time lurker, first-time poster)

Most SJWs tend to shit on cis gay (especially white) men or appropriate their experiences(!!!) as evidence to push their own ideology (hating gay men is actually just a projection of MISOGYNY because as everyone knows every single non-straight man ever acts like a woman!!1!, etc.) so a sizable number of gay/bi men don't like them, myself included.

I'm straight, but I have a gay friend who's into the bar/club scene and he gets shit from those types a lot. Straight girls are always at the gay bar because it's a "safe space" away from straight men, but these same women love to flirt with and grope the gay guys, or look for a new "gay bestie". They tend to also go nuts if hit on by a lesbian.

So at a lot of these bars, they've instituted "guys only" nights and events. This of course brought on accusations of misogyny. I guess the worst is that a lot of straight women are having their bachelorette parties at the gay bars so as to not be ogled by straight guys or whatever. They get drunk and can't keep their hands to themselves, but also it seems like a pretty big slap in the face to the gays at the club, as they're celebrating weddings in a state where gays can't legally marry.

So yeah, straight feminist types have increasingly decided that gay clubs are now their "safe space".

I've known more than a few soldiers with serious PTSD. I've seen guys get "triggered." Not once did it involve anything on the internet.

Perhaps it is a thing, and perhaps there are veterans who would benefit from trigger warnings. I wouldn't know. But prior to coming on this forum, I'd never heard the term trigger warning.

My mom actually had her first encounter with an SJW not too long ago. She and a cousin of mine were commenting on fishing pictures on facebook when apparently some teenage tumblrite popped in and just started going nuts and somehow derailed the whole thing from fishing to "privilege" and began calling everyone racist and ableist and species-ist and whatever else before she was run off.

My mother has always been very considerate and tries to respect everyone, but she admitted she almost lost her temper on some bratty 15 year old girl (who nobody in the comment section even knew). I had to try and explain what SJWs are and the shit they pull. She's like "Oh, you just mean political correctness."

Hah, I wish.

Still don't get how one could make the jump from fishing to racism though. That's a new one for me.

I feel it's safe to say that it would've been reasonable to preface with a trigger warning where I was and the group I was with. I wasn't concerned for myself other than I was disgusted with the 50+ year old "speaker" using Tumblr propaganda, and it's quite different in person than just reading it... My Mother was also with me and thought I was going to cause a scene and call the speaker out. (I've done that before)

The only reason I went there was for the sales floor (Which was crap and I'm not investing in it next year), and only went to the conference section because they had pre-paid tickets and a handful of organizations cancelled... Thus, free brunch... The gluten-free, vegetarian brunch wasn't worth it, and they only had enough desert for around 1/3rd of the room. :c

To be more OT, there is a term at least SJW's cannot currupt and that's "mental health consumer". They'd actually need to be diagnosed by actual doctors instead of flying fast and loose with the trendy illnesses.

I'm not sure you know what "triggering" means. It doesn't mean just simply being upset, angry, calling people out, etc. That's called aggression. "Triggering" is a result of posttraumatic stress disorder, which brought on by prolonged or intense trauma such as years of abuse or combat and affects up to 8% of male and 20% of female trauma victims. People saying things you don't like isn't trauma, it's a part of life.

Triggering, in the context of PTSD heavily impairs one's ability to function by causing vivid flashbacks of the traumatic event, irrational reactions to everyday situations (attacking someone for bumping into you, diving to the ground when a car backfires, etc.), perpetually being on edge, and an almost pathological avoidance of reminders of the original trauma. One cannot have posttraumatic stress when said stress is going on right in front of you.

I apologize for being so preachy, but seeing bullshit SJW definitions making their way into mainstream vocabulary is disconcerting to say the least and, to me, indicates the shrinking distance between SJ extremism and what is considered normal.

TL;DR: Every time you say triggering, the SJWs win.

It's terrifying to imagine a future in which SJWs have ascended to power. That'd be some real dystopian shit.
"Stop right there, criminal scum! You stand accused of not reblogging a ranting 3 page post about a mildly upsetting political event from a country 6800 miles away! You will be sentenced to death for your lack of feels."

Yeah the whole girlfag (straight women seeking gay men)/guydyke (straight men seeking gay women) thing is pretty offensive but SJW-filled sites like tumblr seem to care a lot more about the issue presented by guydykes, if they blog about it at all. I don't go into the SJ sphere often but catfishing gay men/women isn't talked about a lot on tumblr as far as I can tell. Maybe 'cause they think it's a gay guy issue only so it's not important.

I avoid Grindr altogether so I can't help you there. :(

One tried to call me out on that when I pointed out that hypocrisy (along with a bunch of other things). When I asked for evidence and outlined tumblr's bullying tactics with my own examples they just called my post trash and never responded with proof (but definitely a "NOT ALL SJ SUPPORTERS"). Being "called out" by a 15-year-old trigender foxkin is a surreal experience.
I'm glad someone agrees with me. The "gay=girl so really all your problems are misogyny" mantra is right up there with "white gays are stealing our men."

And they'll do worse than catfish you:

http://www.vice.com/en_ca/read/these-women-are-taking-your-dick-pics-and-turning-them-into-art

straight girls said:
“Many people find [these photos] offensive,” he said. “For many women, it is a form of…” he paused. “Well, not quite an assault, but more of a…”

"An affront?" I offered.

“Yes, an affront. I think that part of what happens on technology is that you lose a sense of impact. You don’t know the age, sex, temperament, sensitivity of someone.”

We're violating them by them stealing our photos. (ART!)
