I cannot agree with "US-centrism" enough. In university I had to read a book for one class called Half the Sky which was about women's problems. Sounds SJW-y and preachy, right? Well, except for the fact that the problems written about were stuff like the sex trafficking business in southeast Asia, the sexism inherent in Middle Eastern cultures, sexism in African cultures leading to shit like women getting raped, being shunned by everyone because they were raped, possibly getting pregnant and being denied help, and even suffering fistulas. You know, real women's problems. I remain extremely glad we read that book. Was a real eye-opener and every SJW who complains about "he looked at me I've been raped you guys" should read it ten thousand times.

Yeah, it's definitely been getting into the mainstream for a while now. I now try very hard to seek out neutral news sources because I used to read liberally biased media and it's become just too SJW-heavy for me to cope with. I'm a feminist but I cannot take a single article on Jezebel seriously and have not been able to do so for years. I've noticed it creeping into my internet communities, even though the ones I'm active in are generally very snarky in nature.

I am now as wary of liberal media as I once was of conservative media. It's becoming nearly impossible to find a news source that isn't unapologetically religious/sexist or liberal to the point of constant apologetics and SJW policies.

I can't really add to this, but I will say it does give me hope for society that intelligent people would rather opt out of biased media than let it corrupt their way of thinking. I know a lot of people who seem to think media bias is harmless as long as it agrees with your own bias, and that's a recipie for groupthink and mob mentaility. Case in point: SJWs.

Yeah the whole girlfag (straight women seeking gay men)/guydyke (straight men seeking gay women) thing is pretty offensive but SJW-filled sites like tumblr seem to care a lot more about the issue presented by guydykes, if they blog about it at all.

I noticed this too. I can think of several women in my life who insist that having a gay friend is absolutlely essential to being a woman, but these same people thought I was "weird" for having lesbian friends.

From what I can tell, real life is to blame for not being exactly like an episode of Sex and the City.

Been seeing this a lot lately especially with older celebrities. Usually in regards to something they did early on in their career, or when something now seen as offensive was commonplace.

"So you like the work of (movie star)? Well did you know back in the day he did a stereotypical minority impression? So now you should hate him and his entire career!"

Like Mickey Rooney playing an Asian man once, or Raymond Burr portraying a paraplegic. Those are just obvious examples, but the thing is, the SJWs don't just find something well-known and glaring like Michael Richards' rant or Mel Gibson's Jew bashing. They DIG. It's like they just find a random public figure and dig to find something, anything to get offended over.

We already do. The trust-fund hippies of the Baby Boomer generation are many of the people in charge now, especially in media and acadamia. I hope this is the first google result for all their names for the next 10 years no other country in the world would even fucking entertain some shit like this. We got problems but this shit is testament to the fact that we're essentially pretty fucking free. If one of these guys got hired at my work and I found out I'd consider resigning in protest I hope this follows them hard.

Hahaha I love when they go there. The japanese LOVE cultural appropriation and actually spend a lot government programs to export their culture. They also love taking shit from everyone and making it japanese the idea of apologizing for it would be absolutely alien over there.

Also it's not a geisha costume it's a fucking kimono and as near as I can tell the japanese will sometimes just throw them on because there is a festival and it's fun... so wearing one for halloween is totally appropriate.

I love the way they talk about Geisha like they were some brave powerful womyn. Do any of these clowns even know what geisha actually did? They provided entertainment to males, and while it wasn't exclusively sexual, I would imagine it wasnt unheard of for geisha to do this kind of thing, but correct me if I'm wrong.
