Marshall doesn't even seem to have visiting rights to see his kid so that really tells you what kind of father he was. It doesn't even seem like he even had the chance to fight for custody either so chances are he was just as abusive to his kids as he was to his ex. Long as you have a good clean criminal record, have a stable job that can support your kids, no addiction problems, and no mental health issues it's fairly easy to get custody of your children from what Marshall and Melinda would like us to believe, an unstable mother. It's just going to cost you tens of thousands of dollars and a lot of time.
