Then I misunderstood your post, at least from my perspective it sounded like you were describing business as usual with the media reporting on stupid shit. The media loves reporting and fear mongering on potential happenings whether it be a snow storm coming, or a peaceful protest that has a non-zero chance of turning violent. With that in mind I expect the news to be freaking out about this breakout hoping to get those sweet ratings, but with how fast this as escalated old media might just be slow on catching up.

I'm really interested in how this is going to affect international travel. Will the UN say that we all have to accept "coronavirus refugees" or will governments turn China into a No-Fly-Zone? Will there be any attempt to slow the spread of the disease by Chinese travellers, or will everyone just keep letting Air China drop off plague rats into their country.

I also wonder just how much repair was done to the biological hazard systems after they were pretty much dismantled after the Cold War.

I doubt this is going to turn into Contagion or The Stand, but it will be interesting to see the preventative measures taken by various nations.

The fact that most of China is on SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING mode already is just oddly laughable. It seems like this thing is going worse, but not worse on global, (yet, I hope) but on China; as in most of the infected are Chinese.
Going a few pages back, some poster said that China people believe spreading them make them less sick. Now imagine doing that on your own kin. NOW imagine doing that on your family, which China believes on. Talk about making your own grave and lying on it.
