Didn't dsp slip up once and say something along the lines of "she has her own bills and her own money for herself. Our funds are separate". I swear he mentioned that.
Not 100% sure about him saying that her money is separate, but he has definitely said that her money is her money for all of her own shit. So we could boil it down to our money is separate.

He's been getting them already guaranteed. Once they see you are near 50% of your credit in hock, out they go.
Some places will do that, yeah. But as soon as it's public filing? Shit, his "I check the mail every 3 days" routine, or whatever the fuck it is, will become checking every day because his box is flooded with garbage.

Sibling had to file for bankruptcy about 6 years ago. While she and her ex were relatively upside down in their home, they got quite a few of those regular mailings prior to filing. But, once they did, they had enough fire kindling to last a decade with how many envelopes showed up promising to make one low low payment to help them get out of their shit situation. Even today, she still gets the occasional rogue debt consolidation stuff that references their bankruptcy stuff. Public record is public record.

Shoot, I sold a home last year, and as soon as the sale was recorded, I got a metric ton of "investment opportunity" things in the mail. I still get them. Public record is public record. Doesn't matter the arena, there's businesses and individuals that scour those things for the chance to hook a fish. In a way, they're looking for their own cheerssubsandtips.

I don't think she'll file for divorce until/unless she's told she has to give her money to the trustee and she's maintaining her own fun money bank account.

She might be encouraged by the fact that Washington is one of the few remaining community property states so maybe she can take some of his shit before the trustee gets a whack at it. Especially if she's only on the hook for the debt incurred subsequent to the marriage.

Phil has said this many times
"She's a normal adult human with her own debt" relevant clip runs to 46m35s
"She has her own life. Her own past debts." relevant clip runs to 10m35s
They were married at this point.
"She has her own life. She has her own bills that go through her phone. She has her own friends that I have no right to know what they talk about" relevant clip runs to 33m10s
Urnrelated, but really weird how he says "What?!? No, Kat's PC is not set up in MY bedroom, she has her own room across the hallway here."

Urnrelated, but really weird how he says "What?‽ No, Kat's PC is not set up in MY bedroom, she has her own room across the hallway here."

That just raises more questions then it does answer. Do they even sleep in the same bed together? Why would DSP not have access to meeting her friends? Does she not introduce people to her husband? Wtf does he mean "her room"? Is that her Woman Cave or her own sleeping area?

The list could go on

Another thing about Phil's job plan that he totally fails to consider is, no matter what type of work you do, you may well have to deal with people you don't like, be they colleagues or customers, in a professional manner. No lean in bans or muting someone then insulting them in the real world
He doesn't understand that. He thinks that everyone offline will treat you the way your hairdresser does and tell you what you want to hear.

Man, this is going to be one great saga to happen. I mean, how the hell can phil spin it once we all know what he makes? I mean, how are you going to convince people youre broke when we have a court document saying you aren't?

Phil's gonna say detractors pulled an Operation Snow White on him in order to publish fake documents and frame him.

So I have a weird question.

What happens if during his bankruptcy marathon his parents actually do die, and he gets their stuff?
How would that be handled?
The short answer would be if its a chapter 7 and happens 6 months after, he has to inform the court and they could take some of that property.

If it's chapter 13 at anytime during the repayment plan he would have to inform the court and the court could take some of it.

So phil would try to hide it and keep as much as he can.

@SoapQueen1 and @AnOminous, if he hasn't paid his federal taxes in full (and presumably isn't able to by the deadline), what are the possible and likely scenarios for the IRS in terms of a 2nd payment plan or other consequences and any effect on the bankruptcy?

They're a priority debt that doesn't go away (with some very few exceptions). The payment schedule can be adjusted but their debt does not go away. The pigroach pays that no matter what. If the debt is still in existence when the bankruptcy is discharged, they can continue doing whatever they'd do if it hadn't happened.
