See, I enjoy following Robert's thread because he's a shining example of Dunning-Kruger, but man, it sure can get repetitive. Dehumanizing anyone not already in lockstep with his beliefs by calling them feral animals, claiming straight white male privilege is a thing, and continued bloviating on the Electoral College. You'd think he'd get tired of reposting the same thing every day, but then again...
1579982875085.png

For reference, Bobby joined Twitter in March 2011. If we assume March 1st (it's the best look for him), it's been 3252 days since he joined. Divide 211,000 tweets by 3252, and Bobby tweets on average 65 times a day. The man is addicted.

Side note, Robert: the Electoral College is working just fine. What you and simpletons like you fail to grasp (or purposely ignore) is that more populous states actually do have more of a voice in presidential elections. It's just that it doesn't come at the total expense of less-populated states, who have a guaranteed bare minimum of a say in who becomes the president. The goal is to ensure that the chief executive is supported by a majority of the people in a majority of the states, giving them a mandate to lead the nation. As has been pointed out many times before, Hillary won the popular vote in 2016 by ~2.9 million votes. But if you remove California from the equation, Trump won by ~1.4 million votes. Seems to me like the system's working as intended.

Not like he'll see this or even understand it, because he has more pressing concerns, like...
Reminder that making fun of Roberts family will send him into orbit. But a woman with bad opinions.....

...implying that a Republican senator from Tennessee is actually an inbred hillbilly. Never change, Robert.

In other news, I decided to do a check on Bobby's Patreon, and surprisingly enough, he hasn't been doing so hot of late. From mid-2017 to mid-2018, he experienced a rather notable upswing in his Patreon, going from the ~$3k level he had been hovering around for years up to a peak of ~$4.6k. This coincides with a somewhat noticeable bump in his Youtube subscriptions; not major, but faster than he had been getting subs before.

Ever since then, he's been on a downward trend.
1579983744784.png

From his peak, he's down about $1200 a month, and it doesn't seem like the trend is slowing down. His Youtube subscriptions are also on the decline (though that's harder to tell now that Youtube obfuscates the exact totals and just rounds to the nearest thousand), and even his Twitter followers have begun to dip in the past month.

Granted, he's still making several grand a month for his shit videos, but that number has been going down for over a year and a half. He's not at his all-time low yet (of what can be seen on Graphtreon, anyway), but if the trend continues, he could be sub-$3k within a few months. It's likely too early to say for sure, but maybe some people are waking up to Bobsolescence. In an age where you have dozens, if not hundreds of more knowledgeable criticism channels with way better production values, why keep giving Bob money for a substandard product?

Heh, Bob might actually have a stroke or something if that happens. I honestly cannot wait to see his twitter if Trumps wins in 2020 and lol man if he carries the popular vote too, fuck. Blobbo will be openly calling for the extermination of anyone who ever voted R.
There could be two possibilities.
  1. He makes both his cringy reaction video and blog at the same time.
  2. Or a twitter livestream of him throwing a legit, full-on temper tantrum as the results come in and he literally shits himself.
EDIT: Or another possibly, watch him bitch about Trump ruining a part of his videos he was going to make like his hot take on Titanic.

The "staircase" shape of that downward trend of Bob's Patreon, where it's relatively steady for a time, then suddenly drops near-vertically, repeated multiple times, makes me think that there's some specific triggering event for each major drop. Like, say, Bob saying something spectacularly dumb and hateful and being widely roasted on Twitter for it, although I lack the inclination to spend the necessary time digging through fucking Twitter to prove this. He's literally digging a financial grave for himself with his tongue (or rather, his typing fingers). Consequences are catching up with Bob at last. It's great.

Edit: Looking at the graph again, it looks like it's dropping every month. Maybe it's just that his old patrons are having their credit/debit cards expire, causing the monthly billing to fail and leading to their automatic removal, and they are not bothering to update them because they don't care about Bob anymore. Still good news though.

This thread title needs a small tweak.

Since it angers Robert so much to be called Robert, I propose a change to ”Robert “MovieBob" Chipman - Obese Fascist Eugenics-Loving Elitist Consooming Pop Culture Critic with a Mario & MCU Fetish Leading us to a Superior Future!
Robert "MovieBob" Chipman - He's fat

That's what generally happens on any Patreon graph, even those on the upswing. Every month, for a variety of reasons, pledges will get canceled, but the totals seem to not get updated until the first of the next month. As an example, here's LGR's Patreon showing the same pattern:
1579991771996.png

What really matters is if the total goes back up to about where it was the previous month, as you can see in LGR's graph. Generally, he recoups the losses from the first-of-the-month drop within a couple weeks at most, then he's back where he was before. In Bob's case, each time his Patreon has done the monthly drop, it rises a little (if at all) then remains at that level for the month, only to drop again.

He's clearly on a downswing, but it remains to be seen whether this is something he should be worried about. Hell, I thought the dip he was getting back in mid-2017 was a herald of things to come, only for his Patreon to inexplicably gain $1600 a month over the course of the next year. A rebound isn't out of the question, but it's also possible that $3k a month is his norm, and he's just slowly returning to that level. Still way more than he deserves, but a fool and his money, etc.

OH fuck you, Bob. Most of the folks I know less interested in politics are more focused on doing things for their local communities than anything close to selfish. Indeed I've noticed the folks often most informed about politics can't even give a name or face of someone they've actually helped.

You are a truly twisted individual who daily proves the accuracy of the Screwtape Letters.

So Bob responded to this Twitter thread:

To which the original writer of the thread responded:

As well as several other users (one of which got their response retweeted by Bob):

Peter Coffin, a Breadtuber with a much larger following, also got in in the action:

View attachment 1114588

This last response kicked off another thread where Bob retweeted the user’s dunk so that his followers could dogpile on him:

To which the user responded, which led to a whole ‘nother thread:

TL;DR is basically Bob’s persecution complex rears it’s ugly head in a discussion about political strategy for the left and when people call him out on it, he adopts his usual tactic of backpedaling and siccing his followers on them via retweets.

What a shitshow. Why do people subject themselves to social media?

I love that Peter Coffin showed up though. This is my favorite cow crossover. I hope there's more to come. I was all over those Peter Coffin threads on /cow/ back in the day. I was even the one who paid to get the details of his arrest record. I love a good mystery.

He’s like a mentally and emotionally stunted Pol Pot.

It might be a long shot given that publicly he doesn't really seem to care that much about his numbers, but does anyone else think Bob might be pulling a Maddox and is purposely buying into his own Patreon just to make it look better than it actually is?

I'd say a variation of that, with his family, particularly Chris doing the buying into bit

I’m sure he has extended family paying into it, just like I’m sure he pays a small rent to family for his family-owned basement apartment. As Bob talks more about himself and family, the more I’m convinced he’s mentally stunted and developmentally delayed in an obvious way that his family covers for him (no, I don’t think Bob knows the extent. Yes, I do think he was likely told he’s on the spectrum and is “gifted.”) I don’t think Chris contributes substantially to his Patreon though. At least not anymore. Chris has his own family and money issues to worry about.

I agree with this theory. If you look closely the drops happen every month at the end of the month. I think this is when people's cards expire.

Still, I don't think that this is the end of the world for Bob's Patreon. I'm not the best at math, but it appears that the number of patrons and money earned remains relatively stagnant between drops. I think this will end up with Bob having a greatly reduced, but also stable base of Patreon supporters.

What does Bob mean by people who 'went to school' and 'know things'? I thought those sorts of people were the THINKERS who will deliver us to the promised land of moon-milk and moon-honey?

The best short credo of liberalism came from the pen of the once canonical left-wing literary historian Vernon Parrington in the late 1920s. “Rid society of the dictatorship of the middle class,” Parrington insisted, referring to both democracy and capitalism, “and the artist and the scientist will erect in America a civilization that may become, what civilization was in earlier days, a thing to be respected.” Alienated from middle-class American life, liberalism drew on an idealized image of “organic” pre-modern folkways and rhapsodized about a future harmony that would reestablish the proper hierarchy of virtue in a post-bourgeois, post-democratic world. - The Revolt Against the Masses: How Liberalism Has Undermined the Middle Class by Fred Siegel

It’s almost as though his misanthropic ideology of genocidal hatred of everyone different from him is highly inconsistent and devoid of logical structure...

He's like a temporally embarrassed millionaire crossed with a Randroid.
A temporarily inconvenienced dictator. Doesn't even have the decency to be embarrassed.
Look, it's fine if you like Wu's videos, and I don't mind that she is just a persona and isn't the tech expert she portraits on her videos, it's just for the show, who cares if she isn't "legit". But her silly 3d printers reviews and awkard montage of her soldering something to be necessary to understand global tech? Fucken really Robert?
I thought Wu can barely speak english and is just an avatar for her much older, American engineer husband.
