Society shouldn't, but the quacks who pulled this bullshit and the pharmaceutical companies who encouraged it and deliberately turned a blind eye to it while profiting, should pay for it. Preferably every penny of profits they made with this bullshit, substantial penalties, and permanent loss of license for the quacks. It won't happen, other than the civil lawsuits part, which is inevitable.

I think the effect is because trying to present as the opposite gender makes people who look average for their sex look ugly. Any sort of masculine feature tends to look very unattractive on a "female" face, and vice versa.

For example, this guy would look completely unremarkable as a guy, but when he puts on a wg and lipstick to try and make himself look "feminine," the blatantly masculine features clash with what your brain knows a woman's face should look like, and in result he looks very, very, unattractive

Had the same thought. An extremely rare bird indeed. If you go through his public photos and his partner's they seem to have been relatively normal gays just a few years ago, and seem to both have good jobs. Perhaps an outgrowth of too much ketamine and BDSM shit.

If they even slightly more attractive very rarely. There are probably some because mental illnesses, homophobia, gay culture and stuff, but generally masculine men are the ones whom most gay men are attracted to and so have such easy time to find quality partners. Not all men and all that but let's face many men are so into getting their dick served that it keeps them from trooning out. Sure young twinks are pretty popular too but they have short self life and ultimately being gay means being attracted to men so to masculinity. Actually gays tend favor even more masculine men than women do. Just look yaoi (gay manga to women) and bara (gay manga to men), they have very different body types goin on.

Reviving this to say that from the outside this test makes a lot of sense. If you can't stand living as an ugly woman, then you don't really want to be a woman, you just want to be some version of what "woman" means in your head.

I think it is more than that, since a lot of troons can't even recognize their own ugliness. I think despite all the troontalk about biological sex being a social construct, most do fetishize the biological process of "feminization/emasculation," with hormones and surgery. As much as they say they are female even without estrogen or a vaginoplasty, getting those treatments is a core part of the fetish, and so they desperately want them.
They don't just want to be female, they want to become female. The process is the key element, because if they could recognize their own female gender without external affirmation, and really believed a woman could have a penis and be built like a lumberjack, there would be no point in medically transitioning.
It's why so many trannies feel despair after vaginoplasties, they've reached the end of the road, there's nothing to "become" anymore. They've reached the endpoint. For a similar reason I think some troons get angry about having to live as a woman socially, because they are being denied the "fun" part of their fetish.
