First two certified cases of coronavirus in Italy, two Chinese tourists staying in Rome: their hotel room has been sealed, their conditions are reported to be 'good'. Investigations are running to reconstruct their movements in Italy.
The Prime Minister also announced every flight to and from China to be cancelled.

Links in Italian:

With these, the official cases in Europe rise to 12: beside the latest, 5 in France, 4 in Germany, 1 in Finland.

ETA: They are a part of a larger group of tourist, I assume other Chinese. They have been escorted by the police to one of Rome's hospitals for further tests.

Pilots union files suit to halt American Airlines flights to China
PUBLISHED THU, JAN 30 20203:52 PM ESTUPDATED MOMENTS AGO

The union that represents American Airlines’ pilots said Thursday it’s suing American Airlines to halt service to China amid the coronavirus outbreak, which has killed more than 170 people in China and infected more than 8,000 around the world.

The Allied Pilots Association represents “15,000 professional pilots who fly for American Airlines,” according to its site. The suit seeks a temporary restraining order that, the APA said, would halt all American Airlines service between the U.S. and China.

American suspended two routes to Beijing and Shanghai from Los Angeles between Feb. 9 and March 27, a spokesperson said earlier this week, citing reduced demand because of the coronavirus outbreak.

The lawsuit says American still operates approximately 56 monthly flights between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and airports in China. APA President Capt. Eric Ferguson is calling for American Airlines pilots to refuse to China.

“The safety and well-being of our crews and passengers must always be our highest priority — first, last, and always,” Ferguson said. “Due to the known and unknown risks associated with traveling to China right now, concurrent with the filing of our lawsuit, we are directing all American Airlines pilots assigned to flights between the United States and China, other than those on return trips to the United States, to decline the assignment.”

Federal regulations require crewmembers flying to China to remain on the ground for approximately 32 hours to rest in between flights, the APA said.

American and the pilot union are in the middle of contentious contract negotiations, but the union said the suit was a separate safety matter and not part of the talks.

Representatives from American Airlines were not immediately available for comment.

Airlines around the world are reducing or cutting service to China as the coronavirus continues to spread. Delta Airlines said Wednesday it is cutting flights to China in half starting Feb. 6 through April 30 as the coronavirus spreads, driving down demand for flights to the country. United Airlines on Tuesday announced it is canceling dozens of China flights next month because of a “significant decline in demand” for service, and announced more cuts on Thursday.

“While the additional cancellations are based on passenger demand, it will also mitigate the health risk to passengers and crews,” The Association of Flight Attendants, which represents United’s cabin crew, said in a statement Thursday. “We encourage all airlines to follow United’s lead. Together, we can keep people safe, eliminate this public health threat, and more quickly return the industry to full operation.”

Don’t think anyone posted this yet, but some bitch tried to flee the military base and had to be involuntarily quarantined. This just tells you that we can’t trust any of the people coming back from China and asked to quarantine themselves to actually do as instructed. This person was lucky enough to even get a seat on the flight, and then they come back here and put literally every other person here at risk over not being able to leave for a few days. They weren’t even making them do the full 2 weeks, just 72 hours. What a bitch... https://abc7.com/5892089View attachment 1122795

During the Ebola scare, Kaci Hickox, an exceptional Nurse fron maine who was exposed to ebola, fought her mandatory quarantine in court, won, then "promised" to self quarantine. The stupid Cunt was seen 2 days later at a local restaurant getting takeout food. People are fucking stupid.

The only thing unusual I noticed is the really low lymphocyte count in the lab work. Otherwise it seems just like particularly virulent hell pneumonia.
Oooh where did you see the lab work? I wants a look... been reading up about the 1918 flu and the case reports on the symptoms are interesting. Lots of random haemorrhaging. You can see why they didn’t recognise it as flu at first, some of the reports read like a haemorrhagic viral infection.

Always does seem to be women who do this isn’t it? This whole “no one tells me what to do, even if it brings about a pandemic.” They’re doing these people a favor making them do a mandatory quarantine, it stops them from killing countless other people and having that on their conscience (though I doubt a cunt like this really had one or a moral compass).

Could that mean the 1918 flu wasn't a flu and was a hemorrhagic fever like ebola instead? Or can flu's cause that in extreme cases?

This is far to unwieldy to be used in popular conversation, in any language. Probably people will refer to it has the "Wuhan flu/virus" or the "corona[virus]" even if they are inaccurate.
I'm just speculating, but this may be because the WHO is a scientific/public health organization that uses precise scientific terms to allow precise description of a scientific problem. They let shitposters choose what they want to call it when engaging in speculation.

Rebel Wilson has convinced me that NARDs is the most amusing. Chinese NARDs, to piss off the Canadians and keep them sperging about muh racism. And bats should be in there too, to remind everyone not to eat gross animal brains and shit.

Chinese Bat NARDs.

It can absolutely cause bleeding into the lung. I’ve never seen anyone bleed from ears or eyes. They have isolated the H1N1 strain that they think caused it from preserved lung tissue of deceased patients, so the case for it being flu is as good as it can be from such a distance.
one chap describes the first set of soldiers having what he thought was meningitis and screaming when touched. It must have been an incredibly virulent form.
I have had both flu and pneumonia and both are grim. A level below what’s described for the 1918 one though. It must have been horrific.

So basically they can't help you till you are about die. This explains why they have finally allowed the CDC and others to come in and help. God did they fuck up, they learned nothing for previous outbreaks.
Here’s the thing a lot of people forget: people in power (no matter what government you’re talking about) are convinced of their own infallibility and will do anything to hold on to power. The CCP would rather let millions of people die from this disease than have any kind of risk to their regime.

Here.

I don't really agree with the administration of corticosteroids but I understand why they did it. SARS sometimes killed patients via cytokine storm. In this case, uh, it was the wrong approach.

God, what I would give for an unbreakable camera live-streaming Wuhan right now.

Christ, can you imagine if footage of execution style shit got leaked like the other shit? It will be like flying the habbening first class.

deaths vs recoveries
the mortality is more than 50%

The mortality rate in confirmed cases with confirmed recoveries va confirmed deaths.

So essentially you're basing your 50% on horseshit.

In the first world it's still 0% and I'm willing to bet my mask, food and water stash it sure as shit won't be 50% in the west.

Bought atleast a months worth of food, propane tank, some alkie on sale vodka mostly, personal hygiene stuff etc. Am I overreacting? I mean if corona chan flops atleast I'll have enough stock to endure another hurricane season. I'm oveestocked on ppe.
