It's not uncommon for people to become more religious when they perceive more threats. There even is a study where people disabled threat processing in the brain with magnets and it made people less religious and more accepting of migration.
You also see this when societies go through severe hardship, that people flock to religious answers / religious unity. So while it may well be as you say, it could just as easily be a response to understanding how fucked things are. Charlottesville was in some sense fulfilling the idea that just activism/uniting could challenge the establishment and the establishment had a field day wiping them away, both with optics/media as with how they dealt with people in the street if you look at the details of the things that went down during those protests.
I'm not just basing my analysis off of just Nick. I'm basing it off his friends too and their past and present behaviors. They all seemed to have followed similar religious trajectory timeline, and I don't buy it.
One of Nick's best friends, Shawn (Prince Hubris), was a member of Identity Evropa that got doxed and is Beardson Beardly's co-host on their YouTube livestream The Weekly Sweat. Shawn became a Traditional Catholic LARPer. Like all of Nick's friends, Shawn is a cow too. He's been mentioned on this site before in different threads. Well, Shawn, the holier-than-thou, egirl hater, best friend of Nick who routinely says "no egirls ever" started dating an egirl and moved in with her within the last year. Is it still considered a sin if you shack up with a woman and presumably routinely fuck her if you tell your god "it's just irony, bro?"
Another friend of Nick's, Dave Reilly, the man who asked Charlie Kirk "how does anal sex help us win the culture war?" Dave got doxed and fired after the the Charlottesville Unite The Right Disaster. He was unemployable. He fled to St. Marys, Kansas. St. Marys is to Catholicism as Utah is to Mormonism. They are a large Catholic community. They're specifically SSPX churchgoers. The SSPX is a priestly fraternity founded in 1970 that rejects the Second Vatican Council.
So Dave takes refuge there and then he decides that the people who live their are just too cut off from what's actually happening in the country. He says they're too insular as a community. Evidently this town where men actually marry women and have large families in a very cohesive Catholic town that's over 90% white, like Nick Fuentes and all his buddies say they're advocating for, it's just too much for Dave.
So Dave got offered a job by a former professor named E. Michael Jones (EMJ) to work at EMJ's magazine named Culture Wars. EMJ is a Catholic boomer that has written a lot of books on Catholicism and Jews. He's appeared on Nick's YouTube show, on The Ralph Retort, etc. He's an insufferable individual regardless of his views. It's very clear EMJ doesn't know anything about technology and an almost certainty that Dave Reilly is running his Twitter account and probably entire web presence.
There are two interesting things about EMJ. The first is that he has attacked the SSPX, you know the people who took in Dave Reilly. I believe that EMJ believes their in schism with the Catholic Church, but I could be wrong there. It's odd that Dave Reilly would take a job from a man who hates the SSPX. Too odd.
The second interesting thing about EMJ is is that he diverges significantly with Nicker Nation on race. EMJ doesn't believe there's any biological basis of race/ethnicity. EMJ has something like if you move a biologically black African to Poland, teach him Polish, and convert him to Catholicism, then that biologically black African is Polish. But evidently a Polish man that takes a DNA test that says he is Polish based off of his genetics but isn't Catholic isn't Polish.
It's odd that Dave changed his views on race after he got hired by EMJ. Too odd.
It's almost like Dave is just LARPing as a devout Catholic. It's almost like Dave is just huckstering EMJ's expensive books and magazine. It's almost like Dave is just waiting for the boomer EMJ to die so he can take over his enterprise.
Oh wait a second, remember that question Dave asked Charlie Kirk? He actually does an advertisement for EMJ's magazine inside the question.
