Some further information here, FYAD thread at least partially archived here. Apparently the 50mph number came from a real-world test with a sandbag. That must have been a fun way to discover the platform was 20x taller than it needed to be.

Can't remember his username at the moment, but there was a developer on there who thought he was hot shit for working on the Witcher series - never mind he was a late hire for the third in the franchise, and never mind he was vague about his role, he'd jerk off about it whenever the topic allowed.

He also got phenomenally pissy when players made the "wrong" ingame decisions, having been swept up in the alt right paranoia exceptionalism.
