Watched the Savannah con panel. Vic talked about directors at anime studios, mentioned that a lot of times, studios would be so desperate for directors they'd hire people with no prior experience or knowledge, like a dude working for an ad agency. He also brings up Funimation directors thinking he's difficult to work with. He claims he always made an effort to be easy to work with (always on time, finishes work quickly, friendly and humourous while working). The only reason directors found him difficult to work with was because he wanted to do certain takes more than once, because he wanted the end result to be perfect. He said that the end product often suffered because the directors didn't really care, because they either didn't really know what they were doing or just didn't care.

Just thought it was interesting. Really puts the whole "difficult to work with" thing in perspective.

Vic isn't the only one who has talked about directors like this. I have heard others have this kind of talk at panels before. It did change my perspective a bit on VAs. Sometimes they sound really shitty in one anime, but really good in another. You don't really take into account how large a director's role is in all this until it gets pointed out to you.

They knew what the show was and what they were getting into. Funi has released other shows with content just as strong. Hell, their version was still censored. Someone wasn't happy with that show and wanted it axed, be it pressure from a voice actor or a bootlicker bitching about anime tiddies. But it's nice to know that they do have standards, especially during comic conventions.

There's this kv sperg whose been doing a bunch of blogposts about how Vic is literally hitler. The followng is an excerpt from his most recent and final post

Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault are legal distinctions that are outside the scope of Kitchener Comic Con to decide and will be left to the authorities to take appropriate actions. However, incidents with blatantly sexual speech or acts, or touching of a more personal nature (ie – areas of the body that would be covered by jockey shorts or bra & panties) will be treated very seriously.

It is not appropriate to touch someone who appears to be either transgender or dressed as a member of the opposite sex to find out if their body parts are real without very clear permission. Kitchener Comic Con will treat such incidents with equal severity whether the body part touched was real or costume.

If Vic was an issue, after reading their policies why would they invite him?

As someone who goes to the staff meetings, yeah we don't care.

We just want folks to come to the event, have fun and leave each other alone. Literally nobody cares if they're ISWV, KV, CG, WC or whatever. We treat our convention with the neutral ground rule.

Leave your drama shit at the door, everyone here is to have fun. Nobody cares that you're a 30-something dressed in a 10,000$ cosplay, the 6 year old is going to get more photos than you. It's for the fans, for the kids, not their fucking drama.

If folks can't figure that out, then they're free to make sure the door doesn't hit their ego on the way out.

The issue with glomping in a public building like the venue there, is that there is no carpeting and no division of the crowd. It's open air, very open concept and any glomping would probably result in crashing into a large crowd of people and several people cracking their head off a marble floor
