I wonder if it's a case of backing the wrong ship with Malkin. She stuck up for Nick during the Groyper wars while probably only having a limited knowledge of him and that might've gotten her ostracized in a lot of conservative circles with money and media pull. So now she's stuck with him.

IIRC he also said his mom doesn't like a lot of stuff he says about women, which is pretty funny considering he still lives at home.
