Jaron Seth Bloshinsky / Jazz Jennings / I Am Jazz - Puberty Blockers: Not Even Once

I would have sued those doctors a long time ago for multiple botched surgeries. I get that it's experimental and Jazz never should have gone under the knife at such a young age to begin with, but watching those quacks suck up to the parents and try to defend their continued ruining of Jazz's body and future makes me sick. I'm really surprised Greg and Jeanette haven't caught on to this by now. Shitty doctors and shitty parents alike.

I know I say this on every narc cow, but that's how they operate. They literally cannot allow themselves to admit their own wrongs, and will continue to slice into jazz under the hopes they can "get it right this time", but what his idiot parents and doctors don't understand is that even with time tested surgeries the more you chop up someone's tissue, the worse your body gets at holding it together.

The father is incapable of standing up to Jeanette, though he seems like he half a brain. If I was him I would have fought her in court before I let her take Jazz for that surgery.

the informed consents for experimental surgeries are really explicit about not knowing what the outcome will be. it would be very difficult to sue anyone for the failures involved in this case, it isn't like they left surgical sponges inside jazz that caused the problem. The problem is inherent in the course of treatment vs the patient's condition, not caused by a lack of skill on the part of the surgeon. What really fucks them is that multiple other surgeons that they consulted with told them other possible courses of treatment (like skin expanders that are used for all kinds of surgeries, or topical testosterone to grow the penis only for a traditional SRS surgery) and jeannette still went with the procedure that has the least amount of data available. All of these warnings and consultations are recorded on video by TLC and can be used to prove that the surgeon's advised them correctly about possible outcomes. Jazz's dad is a pussy and all, but he is also a highly paid attorney, and knows that jeannette signed their child's life away with the first consent.

Also the admission of dilation problems = video evidence of patient deviating from the post operative care plan.

You know, I'm starting to feel this shit is not "experimental".

Experimental is when you have a theory that you're putting in practice to try. This isn't. This IS the final product, and this is the best that it's ever going to get.

They use the "experimental" tag so they won't be sued: "see, Mr. and Ms. Jazz, we told you this surgery was experimental, you knew there was a big chance of failure, you can sue you because we all agreed it's not a perfected procedure".

I'd believe it's experimental if we didn't see all of those failures. This last fuckup is them practically forgetting to remove the remains of the penis or simply giving up because they can't remove it and they don't know what to do with it. Isn't this something they should have predicted it would happen? They just DO NOT KNOW how to do this on a child and they said they did because there is a chance of a tv show giving them money and exposure.

I may be mistaking Jazz for another Trans Superstar but isn't it kind of weird that when He still had his dick he was dating a dude and now that he has a festering hole he's trying to date a girl. Is it just for the oppression points of being a post-op trans lesbian, is he just a regular guy that was pushed into becoming trans by his mother, or is it every MtF troon's destiny to become a carpet muncher?

Also, I couldn't help but notice that the conversation that starts about a minute in really reveals how Jeanette is trying to live vicariously through Jazz. He's talking about wanting to find love and knowing who is the right one to avoid heartbreak and Jeanette keeps telling him that he shouldn't want to find his true love so quickly. Jeanette is telling her son that he should want to sleep around and try new things out and is visibly agitated when Jazz disagrees. I would get it if the conversation was don't settle for the first guy who dates you but shes literally using the "try out all the flavors of Icecream line" What's more revealing is that Jeanette beats on him for being afraid of getting into the dating pool until he blames his fears on having a dick. Jeanette then tries to reinforce that everything will be better for Jazz after the surgery and really shows how Jazz got to this point.

She's not living through Jazz, it's more like she's living up her fantasy of having a daughter through Jazz, which is odd considering she already has one.

I feel the need to repeat again this case from Argentina: woman with two boys eventually trooned the young one. The older boy said on TV his mom had tried to make him her "little fag", that she wanted a girl so much to the point he had to escape the house. The younger kid told his step-sister he agreed with it because it made mom happy. Other members of the family said they've seen how the kid was forbidden to wear boy's clothes by the mom, this was never his choice.

Jeannete's conversations with Jazz sounds like she's trying to be a cool, open-minded mom who has a very open relationship with her daughter. She already had a daughter who probably didn't want to give in to her fantasies, similar to how Desmond's mother treated her older child.

Once Is chance, twice is coincidence, third time is a pattern.

I think it's totally possible that Jazz's mom mistook flamboyance for homosexuality. While flamboyant effeminate little boys and masculine little tomboys grow up homosexual much more often than the average child, over half of them are still straight. Jazz's sexuality has been so stunted and corrupted by his mother that we'll never know, not really, which half he'd have been if all this had never begun. He was identified as being gay and in need of surgical correction for it before he was in kindergarten, far too young to have any inkling which side of the fence he'd end up on.

(I know, I deserve every horrifying rating I get for this) has to make you wonder, have either of them been trying to dilate Jazz's urethra by mistake?

Note to self: in future never read this thread with morning sickness. Fuck me but that is foul. Especially since I cannot guarantee you're wrong. If they've fucked up his urethra he's going to die from these complications eventually, when the repeat UTIs start to fuck with his kidneys and bladder to the point of causing permanent damage or systemic infection.

Desmond Is Amazing's mother also has an older daughter who didn't want the kind of "we're BEST FRIENDS FOREVER, TWINSIEEEEES" narcissist vampire relationship that was on offer from mom.

I just feel so sad for Ari. I wonder if that thought has crossed her mind and she's blamed herself for not being girly enough or enjoying the spotlight. Ari is barely ever fussed over on the show despite the fact that she's the firstborn. Most normal families do nothing but make a big show for the firstborn's accomplishments. Ari doesn't act like a typical spoiled firstborn princess. She's down to earth, quiet, sensible, and a little on the tomboyish side. The exact opposite of what a loud, theatrical narc like Jeanette wants.

Erectile tissue being retained and causing issues does happen pretty frequently as a complication of SRS (for trannies that weren't puberty blocked). The issue usually is that during sexual arousal the tissues engorge and cause pain or mechanical compression of other structures (urethra or neovagina, or against the pubic bone, etc). Growth of the erectile tissues is a major part of male puberty though, so they don't really know what will happen with it long term in cases like jazz's. I wonder if mechanical compression or residual testosterone from the adrenal glands is causing changes of some sort. The kid never had an erection after starting lupron, so I don't know why suddenly those tissues would engorge. Plus...until they get an exam, it is all a guess, because the anatomy is so different than a person who had normal genitals before surgery.

Did he never have an erection? Why do I recall him saying "I have a boner" from a clip a year or so ago?

I recall a certain point in puberty where friendships became a lot deeper. Like not only with potential romantic partners, but platonic friendships intensified. Is Jazz capable of differentiating between a platonic friendship and a romantic relationship?

Obviously, puberty is the process that allows teens/men to get 'boners' from sexual arousal, and Jazz didn't have anything like a normal male puberty, so I wouldn't expect he could get an erection - probably not on blockers, almost certainly not once he was on female hormones. But... when you have a baby boy, everyone warns you "don't get freaked out when your newborn has an obvious stiffy. It's normal - you take the diaper off, they're, well, 'stimulated' by the fresh air, and you get baby boners." Even knowing to expect them, it still just felt odd every time it happened... you don't really get used to the sight of a tiny baby with an obvious erection!

I'm sure I've read more than once that testosterone levels are actually super-high in newborn boys (so baby erections are still likely the result of male hormones), but then they drop again until puberty... so Jazz has almost certainly had an erection or a whole bunch of them, even if only when he was just a baby.

Of course, there are other reasons his leftover 'erectile tissue' could swell/become 'engorged' besides hormones/sexual arousal... anything that causes increased blood flow to that area (maybe triggered by the healing process, or his immune system's response to what it perceives as a serious injury) could be the reason it's now swelling up. Hell, the 'injury' in itself could have directly caused the swelling... I know I keep going back to childbirth, but you're swollen down there for weeks post-baby, swelling is a perfectly natural response to 'trauma' in many (most?) parts of the body.

Basically: I would assume his remaining erectile tissue is "engorged" because his body is responding as if he's had a major injury... which let's face it, is a polite way to describe the horrors this poor kid has been through... that or he's bleeding internally and has a clot or a hematoma down there, all possibilities which are not horrific at all (/sneed)

My question is, why does he have 'leftover' erectile tissue at all? I know they didn't have much to work with for his surgery, but you'd assume if this is not an uncommon cause for complications post-SRS (which seems likely, given several Kiwis already have chimed in with evidence of the same thing happening to other troons) they'd be cautious about keeping too much of it... what would he ever need it for?

All you say is why I'm so doubtful about this stupid procedure. I don't think they thought through it very much nor they cared whether would work because they knew there was no actual goal. They knew they had the chance to study a young case and they just jumped into it because the chance of tv exposure. They never studied his case in the way they should before the surgery. To me, it was never a case of "we've developing this procedure, let's try it on Jazz" and more like "let's see what we can do to Jazz so we can later do it to other children".

Erectile tissue extends up to the glans. The glans is used to fashion the pseudo clitoris. My guess is some tissue remains attached to the glans, which might explain why this is such a common complication.

Looking into this, there is a likelihood that Jazz’s urethra could prolapse entirely. I don’t think @sperginity is that far off in thinking Jazz may be looking at a catheter implant ala Farrah Flawless.

He was trying to date her even before the surgery but he was also rejected back then.

He is an incel eunuch.

I was thinking of the episode where jazz talks with dr bowers about having never had an orgasm, it came out that he had never masturbated, and the doctor encouraged jazz to try to achieve an erection so that masturbation is possible. I know that it is normal for prepubescent children to have temporary erections that aren't sexual in nature, but the drug lupron takes the place of sex hormones in the body so that it is like having neither testosterone or estrogen (so like a eunuch or a post menopausal person), which atrophies the reproductive system. Keep in mind that jazz spent several years on those drugs, and may not have been able to remember spontaneous erections from the years previous. Or maybe they still occurred and I remembered everything wrong, re watching the clip will confirm but I hate that clip, it haunts me.

A man's "morning wood" is due to pressure of the full urinary bladder on his sacral nerves. It is a reflex arc, not mediated by the brain, and thus should not be inhibited by GnRH agonists or estrogen. Although I'm not certain how much these actually cause tissue atrophy at the penis itself.
