It isn't really surprising that sooner or later his Discord server will be locked down to just his original Twitch subscribers and I really can't blame Alex for doing so. Initially the banning speedruns were funny (it peaked with just the name one) but people trying to share their slice of their own pie made it dumb, annoying and unnecessary and any chatroom would just go into lockdown if it's really true that thousands of people doing exactly that. The only funny part you'd get is just you getting banned and that's it.

If you want to compare pedophilia with something, sexual orientation is definitely something you should not even try to compare with. You're right that you can't turn them off (which is the point of the comparison) and I can see that this is just Alex making a pretty bad comparison but he didn't even apologize for it.

This is just useless. All it would do is just giving the accounts banhammered but it would not deal with future accounts that would raid the channel. It won't even take long to just make another Discord account which just requires an e-mail account and that's it. Even if said user is IP banned they can just get a VPN for it and the speedrunning will just continue.

Have some headings, make it in chronological order etc. As for anything not in the doc, I think starting the document off with the "Rise and Fall of Yandere Dev" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6FhLpeq378) and "The Real Yandere Dev" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YY-aqqCFjnc) would be better as a tl;dr version.

Also seriously? If discord starts banning accounts for just posting a image in this server shits going to hit the fan.

I should probably add those to the Doc, their great videos. But i'll probs keep the TLDR in their. It more or less describes what the doc talks about with out people scavenging through the 10 pages of it. I should tidy it up a bit though, I tried to divide it into sections but some parts are def less readable than others.

One thing I don't agree with when I see it is "No professional training" for programming used as a negative. I'm a developer and some of the smartest people I've worked with were self taught. Most interviews we do, a college degree doesn't mean shit. If they don't come in with something to show off, or bullshit through a pseudo code question they are not getting hired.

The key is to continue learning, know what you need to improve on, and learn through experience and from your peers. He learned scraps of the basics and stopped there, trying to form his game around the basic concepts he learned (the infamous if else repeating statements for everything).

Hes too prideful and arrogant to think he needs to continue learning (In tech you must always stay up to date on modern approaches and tech).

He has no peers to learn from as he again is too prideful to accept any feedback and works alone.

Development, programming, IT. There is definitely positives to getting a degree in these fields, but they are also fields where you can thrive or break into them via teaching yourself. Modern times the stigma of no degree is starting to change. I just dont like seeing it being thrown around as a negative.

Sorry for my little spergy rant here. I really hate the example Yan Dev is setting here. Guy fucking sucks.

I feel a little bad I haven't kept up with this thread as often as I should. I just had to take a break from the internet during the "Gremlin Propaganda" fiasco, only got interested again with joke Speedruns of people getting banned from his servers. Over two years and the game isn't even 10% done, and he's stalling Osana for more pointless features and to many kill methods to keep count.

In programming even reading a book or following a free online course/tutorial is pretty much formal training. A lot of college courses for programming are outdated and useless, but you can't just if/else your way into a career.

There are so many great programmers that learned through books or even just autistically taking apart other people's code. It's pretty clear yandev actually doesn't have a real passion or interest in programming.
