Forgot about Ryan, the former Minecraft developer. Didn't know he was a furfag but I do recall him writing some TDS laden tweets around the 2016 elections.
But yeah, the emulation scene definitely has enough crazies and autistic drama at this point to warrant a Community Watch thread.

There was one for the SJW Switch team a year or so ago but it died due to disuse.

A less-notable emulator developer (also admin of the audio technical site Hydrogenaudio, developer of a suite of foobar2000 components) named kode54 came out as a gay furry only a year or two before byuu did. I didn't know that was how the timeline looked. The two are reasonably close in terms of circles and I wouldn't doubt that there is some deeper connection.

Perhaps someone who knows them better than I has more to share here?

Long time emu dev stalker here. I've been watching all of this stuff for over 10 years now, because I'm a fucking loser. I don't really hate these people but I love drama so lets talk.

I want to get something off my chest. I really don't think Byuu is a furry. Like honestly, he just suddenly "became" furry? Hes full of shit. So why does he have a fursona? Because he hangs out around a bunch of furries. Most of the furry shit he likes just happens to be weeb shit that literally any weeaboo would also like. Finally, unlike say kode54, theres literally no evidence byuu was ever a closet furry, he just magically became one all of the sudden as a grown ass man. Doesn't add up.

kode54 is unrelated, he just hung out on byuus forums years ago. Though kode54 has ties to mudlord, a fella that could seriously fill his own thread, along with Squarepusher of Retroarch fame. (Honest to god, both of those people are way, way, way more fucking insane than byuu in my opinion.)

Squarepusher, however, is certifiably fucking insane. (If I could will a thread into existence, it would be that one.) To be honest though, I never kept good evidence/archives of all of the retarded shit people have done, so I probably don't have much to contribute. Sounds like the /emugen/ could deliver maybe?

So he went on a big rant ( http://archive.li/j4Eu7 ) about me updating his changing nick which was (at the end) run an Autohotkey script. Couldn't have been that from the start, as it was responsive to my commentary about how if he kept the "near" part constant, I could hack around it all by simply pointing to an archive link. I figured it was something like this, as it was too regular, and during a time when he, as someone who lives in Japan, should have been sleeping. The whole thing was weird anyhow, because as you say, user ID doesn't change. Why did he care so much?

Funny that he thinks he was clever enough to use a script, but no one could script something trivial like updating a forum link. Three curl calls: One GET to Twitter API, one GET to Kiwifarms edit page to request an edit token, and one POST to the edit page to update the content. (You can copy-paste curl commands right out of Firefox and Chrome.)

There was also recently drama revolving around a game that will likely never be in MAME for political reasons in which the tl;dr is someone allegedly stole a prototype game from SEGA to put in MAME (archive here) and actually got people fired from Sega. There's also MooglyGuy who's like Byuu if he posted dumb shit on message boards far more often, he's talented and wrote a MAME driver that was in high demand but he can also get into flamewars on forums about doing things his way and whatnot.

If I had known how deep the rabbit hole went I might have made an emulation general thread instead of one on just one guy tbh.

Mostly a nobody. I only joined to post in this thread, though it's not as though I haven't been lurking in other threads. I was pretty honest when I came in here:

It's true, I really don't hate these people. I also have been following this for a long time, and I've never caught byuu in a slip up regarding pedophilia. In fact I've never even caught him showing really any sexuality, on his forums or twitter. He literally only started playing the furry and tranny shit when he started hanging around furry troons on twitter.

The thing is, without those accusations there's still tons of hilarious shit in the emudev scene and in byuu's history. I think byuu sperging over closed source emus and FPGAs is hilarious. His sperging has gotten a little boring lately as it's now limited to bitching about Google. While maybe a bit pathetic it's not really as amusing.

The best truths I can really add that aren't present very much is byuu's habit of taking basically any drug he can find, which I did provide some links to, and there are certainly more bits of it around the net.

I'm being genuine when I say I'm surprised byuu got his own thread before some of the other emudev losers. Have you read some of squarepusher's rants? And the projects he works on are similarly notable (RetroArch.) I'm pretty sure the others who've been following for a long time would agree.
