What have you been banned for? - Kickin' the Autistic: Internet Edition

Got permabanned from Twitter by a bot because it couldn't understand the context of one of my tweets.

I was banned from some other board a couple of years ago for a combination of wrongthink and mod sass. I pointed out that the Democrats were acting like the Birthers, and they needed to calm down before they turned moderate voters away. I was then banned for a month for 'trolling' and when I appealed, the admin claimed I was a part of some right-wing conspiracy involving a former moderator I had never heard of. He refused to take my word that I had no idea what he was talking about, and so I said 'lol, okay' and changed my avatar to an illuminati symbol.

Got permabanned for it.
What was the forum?

My college's wifi got permabanned from 4chan for "off-topic garbage" less than a couple hours ago. WTF? This happened to someone else on here in another thread earlier today, and it's the only time I've ever heard of anything like this happening.

That's what you get for posting about jews in /d/.

I just wish we could ban MAC addresses instead of IP addresses just by the fact that MAC addresses are static meanwhile IP addresses can easily be passed from one person to another. The computer your friend uses is not the same as the computer you use, right?

I just wish we could ban MAC addresses

Spoofing a MAC address is no harder (easier, really) than changing or disguising your IP address, so even if the MAC address made it outside your local network, it wouldn't do much good. You'd just have a bunch of trolls changing theirs to DEAD BEEF CAFE for their ops.

That happened to me as well. The weird part was that it was a post about the D&D Love Cleric controversy on /5eg/, the board about D&D 5th edition on /tg/, the board about tabletop games. 4chan janitors baffle me sometimes.

I got majorly banned from a board about five or six years ago for questioning identity politics. It's funny, I always considered myself a pretty liberal person. I haven't changed, the rules did.

I especially loved that they purged every post of mine in the process. Like my moment of wrongthink negated anything I had ever said in the time I had been there.

I've been banned a couple times from /a/ for posting about ACK. I know I really shouldn't but when his copycats are STILL at it, it really starts to grate.

I'm a senior citizen, so my bans go back more than 50 years.
  • Woolco, 1968, for shoplifting a bag of stamp hinges. Never shoplifted again, also ban evaded and followed the floorwalkers around for amusement. I once saw a petite female store dick picked up and thrown through a plate glass shopfront by a lifter she pursued out of the store into the mall. She was quite surprisingly relatively unscathed and went right back to shouting and chasing the perpetual, who was finally brought down by mall security.
  • Scientology, 1972, for joining staff and quitting the next day without repaying the $75 promissory note I signed to pay for "training courses." Someone smarter than my teenage self pointed out that real jobs pay the worker, not the other way round. Somehow that never got me off their junk mail list, so when I sent it back in one of their own Business Reply envelopes threatening to sue, they responded with a PTS Type C ethics order, which I took with me to demand an explanation and retraction from the Ethics Officer who physically removed me from the building.
  • 1980s, pen-testing the local BBSs, found and exploited a few high quality bugs, e.g. uploading a file named CLOCK$ which scrambled the BIOS on more than one unlucky BBS, uploading another file named COM1 when I was logged in on COM2 ... DOS was pretty stupid back in those days. Got banned for a hack across the country that resulted in a bunch of credit card numbers leaking, which I had actually nothing to do with. Still worth it though.
  • 2000s. A FB group for quilters, for ridiculing the admin for posting sexually provocative photos of a "brand ambassador" posing on a quilt. The quilt wasn't even a particularly good one.
  • A feminism subreddit modded by troons for being a TERF for pointing out that I don't give a rat's arse which bathroom people use as long as they put the toilet seat back down when they're done.
  • Trolling a Regretsy fans Facebook group by agreeing too enthusiastically with critiques of sloppily handcrafted items.
  • Banned by Fat Guy Across America's FB page from several although accounts. Main account still stealth-trolls there.
  • GOMI forums, but that's probably just the usual random purges she does when drunk.
Okay, it's not much, but it's all mine.
What a life.

got banned from a few forums because i was shitposting. literally baiting with the lowest effort baits like calling someone a ''fag'', im not even joking.

GOMI forums
Didn't take long before I find out stuff about the forum.

Sounds like a fun place, can't even have an adblocker and even motherfucking ResetEra lets you browse with an active adblocker and when it comes to shitty forums, ResetEra is the bottom of the barrel.
