On the matter of “they’ll never be satisfied with their representatives” my operating theory is that they can’t stand functioning members of society who are gay or black or whatever it is because they’ve convinced themselves that their own unhappiness is the result of being persecuted for that. I am gay and I kind of avoid telling people I'm gay now unless it's necessary, for the exact same reason. a LOT of other gay men feel the same way, and the rest of the LGBT community (including fem gay men) are very hostile towards us and treat us as though we're outsiders invading their spaces.
