Modern day supply chains are based around Just-In-Time stock, so they tend not to keep much in their warehouses. It's a good idea to keep overhead costs for storage down, but it leaves those chains very sensitive to a system shock like a pandemic. Thanks to that it doesn't matter if Corona-chan only gives China her love; with a longer delay the whole world will be reeling.>lose access to child slaves and unpaid prison labour for not even a week
>entire companies stock immediately begins to rapidly freefall
The absolute state of technological consumerism.
If that is actually the truth, and the CCP's freakout suggests that it might well be, then we are well and truly boned. Even if it only destroys China, the global economy and the world order as we know it are finished.30% death rate and four hundred new people who die of pneumonia or spontaneous fever death a day.
I think at this point it's pretty much confirmed that this disease was absolutely bio-engineered. Only something concocted in a lab specifically to genocide a country could have that sort of efficacy in a world with modern sanitation. It wouldn't be the first time this happened, only we got off extraordinarily lucky because Russia knew to keep their diabolical plague-weapons isolated to an island one could potentially glass from orbit if it ever got out of hand or posed too big a risk.

That's good news for those that are modern countries considering that their gargantuan death rate is largely due to incompetence and not just an utterly overwhelming disease. But considering it has HIV strains in its DNA sequence, I very highly doubt that it was a spontaneous mutation of some other disease that occurred in nature and I doubt that China were researching diseases for the purpose of creating preemptive cures. That doesn't strike me as something the CCP would just do out of the kindness of their commie hearts.I be been to china it's not a modern country and it doesnt have sanitation or modern medicine.
It makes sense to study virsus especially the onese were seeing now. It might be a wild sample getting out. It might be a stolen sample getting out. Or like jim says some stupid asshole eat a batts butt hole.
I'll be honest and say I hope Corona-chan visits both Xi and Kim, and both die choking on their own bile. There's something poetic about haughty tyrants being brought down by the tiniest thing. They weren't vigilant enough.

Why are they all "disinfecting" roads, (cities too) but you see china using a lot of trucks on highways / roads spraying and now North Korea just begun to do the same ?They weren't vigilant enough.

The value of good propaganda and lack of disease control, mainly. There's no practical scenario where fogging the streets will halt a virus. Why are they all "disinfecting" roads, (cities too) but you see china using a lot of trucks on highways / roads spraying and now North Korea just begun to do the same ?
They know something we don't about this shit ?

It's international dick waving although not the bad kind. A lot of times countries will offer to help rivals by offering doctors or airlift. Think of when Cuba offered to field mobile medical teams for hurricane relief in the US. It's a big national victory to have your rival take you up on aid.Shit like this is actually very cool--the idea that the virus might foster peace and cooperation between antagonists could be a silver lining to an otherwise shitty situation.
Literal Chinese agitprop. Beneath DIA there is a major safehouse for important/government people in the case of a major disaster/nuclear war. The bunkers beneath DIA also contain FBI/CIA/otherwise secret operation storehouses and staging areas. There is a security guard I have to pass often who drives me crazy telling people that the coronavirus originated and was created in the USA and is being used for population control. Even the half-wits around her are like, hmmm I'm pretty sure it originated in China. I try to remind myself it's not worth the energy engaging with her.
She also thinks the underground structures under the Denver International Airport are concentration camps.![]()
Supplies? More like demand. China imports fuel and the west does fine mining its own potash and making its own fertilizerWhen do you think fuel and fertilizer supplies will take a dip?
I see you are unfamiliar with the illegal, ghetto, and homeless populations of the US. Also legitimate emergencies like a super high fever, broken bones...Why would anyone go straight to a hospital?

>geneticist, expert in rare diseasesThe Washington Post is now reporting that the dead American was a 53-year-old Chinese immigrant to the US, who became a citizen, then returned to Wuhan to teach at a university there:
"Chinese media reported that the deceased was Hong Ling, a geneticist who specialized in rare human diseases. He was a graduate of Wuhan University who went to study in the United States in 1987, receiving a doctorate in biology from University of Arizona in 1994 before doing postdoctoral research at the University of California at Berkeley.
"Hong went on to join the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, a Department of Energy lab managed by the University of California, in 1999, according to a report on Sina.com.
He had been on the faculty at Hua Zhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan since 2007 and was a highly regarded distinguished professor who has received numerous national awards, according to local reports. Some colleagues told the Paper that they met Hong in Jan. 21, just before the Lunar New Year holiday, to discuss their research work.
"It’s not clear why the U.S. citizen [Hong] was unable to leave Wuhan, from where the State Department extracted more than 800 people on chartered flights, but it may have been because the person was already too sick to travel."
