Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Well, these numbers would get my head spinning if there is a chanc, that, any data this guy is presenting is true :

Again, to take with a grain of salt it's easy to fall for dramatisation in these times but we all know China numbers are bullshit.

Still, the truth might be in the middle somewhere.
This is Voice of America. It's literally a CIA funded operation designed to spread FUD in countries that don't toe the line.

My nightmares are filled with eco-loons using bio weapons to 'fight polluters'.
The eco propaganda is reaching that point.
That would require a person that likes Greta Thunberg having the will, resources and connections to enact the plot of Rainbow Six instead of delaying a flight at an airport for an hour before getting arrested.

From the washington post :

Beijing authorities said Friday that lying about having contact with someone with coronavirus could be punishable by death, that failure to report symptoms such as fever could lead to criminal charges, and that people who are not wearing masks could be detained.

As the Chinese government has used more and more draconian measures to try to contain the virus, including ordering tens of millions of people across Hubei and Zhejiang provinces to stay at home, they have also tried to enforce increasingly strict rules.

“If found to have endangered public safety with dangerous means, those with such behavior … could be arrested and sentenced to three years or less of imprisonment for lighter cases, and 10 years or more in jail, life sentence or even death sentence in severe cases,” said Li Fuying, director of the Beijing Judicial Bureau.

Tl;dr :
You spread "misinformation" (or truth heh ?) you die.

Alex Jones wasn't far off calling this an information War, half of the west would die under such a nice regime lol.

Running out of food.
Running out of/have run out of medical supplies.
Millions quarantined
Specialized military units a no-show
Roads torn up leading into quarantine zone
Extremely limited military response
Ships are no longer docking at major ports
International Trade is stopping
North Korea had a crop failure
Curfews and lockdowns have started
No food coming in via ship to China
Chinese government has no clue what to do
Street snatching has started
Death camps built
Mysterious pits being dug
Death toll is starting to spike
Chinese people losing faith in government
Outside of China numbers slowly climbing
Heavy handed punishments and threats from government

Am I missing anything? It's only missing about three things to make this a step from Mad Max: Pollution Goblin Road

They needed a comprehensive plan a month ago, instead it's just knee jerk reactions and flailing around. It's like any decision the pollution goblins make the wrong one.

This sounds closer to a convenient law to disappear people than some kind of effort to stem the spread of wuflu.

he's probably just hiding off on some island or mountain top waiting for the shit to blow over so he can come back and rule the wasteland with the handful of pissed off peasants that survive.

Whoever survives in China when everything is over, won't be a meek peasant. They will know that the government let their families and friends to die and any anger they felt will be against their leaders.

The phrase Eco-loons just makes me think of Jak and Daxter. Referencing dead franchises aside, even though I wish that wasn't the case while I think I'm most likely late to mentioning this, it seems like the first American has died due to this virus. How likely is it that the US will take notice of that fact and bring the pressure on China to get this shit under control quicker and better than it has been doing?

That and instilling fear in the population because a lot of people are starting to panic probably, speak more and more against the ccp, that's probably what Xi was talking about when he said he was going to crack down and increase censorship.

At this point, I'm just waiting for the mass graves to start being revealed. Apparently, they are overloaded at the cremation centers (from those that died from Coronavirus or other causes, who the hell knows), so it's probably easier to bury them and then burn. Or treat them like the pigs and burn all the bodies in a big pile of dirt.

The constant comparisons to Chernobyl are completely correct. As is the adage, "history repeats itself, first as tragedy and then as a farce".

It's a little more like the pre-Chernobyl radiation exposure from a spill of radioactive sludge. I forget the name but it only really came out during the 90s that it even happened. A huge swathe of the Eurasian countryside became unlivably radioactive but people were still bathing in the rivers and ponds and the Soviets would just shoot them dead to stop them from going to other towns and irradiating people there.

You could honestly see something like a Mad Max fuel shortage if this gets much worse. China imports most of its oil, and there's a good chance that some of the seller nations may decide that the infection risk is not worth the money.

Too bad we seem to have lost the advanced body burning techniques the Germans perfected in the 40s.

Info from the flights that are expected to bring back Brazilians from Wuhan.

First, Brazilian goverment released a statement debunking a publication saying they refused to take people from Latin America and that they were requested by Bolivia, Costa Rica, Argentina, Colombia, Panama, and Cabo Verde. The publication said Brazil rather helped Poland because they're ideologically allies. The government said that the flights have a limited space and limited crew so they can't just take more people they are allowed. Also, that they were already arranged to make a stop in Poland from Wuhan and that is hard to make a stop everywhere else because flights from there are banned. They agreed on taking Pollacks from Wuhan to be allowed there:

The flight from Wuhan already landed in Brazil (Fortaleza), according to this video in Portuguese. It was tweeted about two hours ago. They will then be moved to another region.

(What I understand is that they are tired but everything is fine and quiet)

This is info I got from a tweet (original in Port.)

"The 34 returned Brazilians from Wuhan arrived to Fortaleza and now will be put in quarantine in the Air Base of Anapolis. According to information from the medical team, the Brazilians did not show any symptom related to CV during the flight to Brazil".

Some pics of the Air Base:

Braz1.jpgbraz2.jpgbraz3.jpgbraz4.jpg

Anyone showing any symptom, will be inmediately taken to a Military Hospital.

Some recommendations given to the passengers:

"Returnees must wear a surgical mask throughout the trip. It should be changed every four hours or when it is wet or dirty. The order is not to change seats and to avoid circulation between the areas of the aircraft."

"Crew and health workers must use toilets different than passengers'"

"Crew and members of the Ministry of Health support team must wear a mask, waterproof apron, gloves, hat and goggles."

"Each passenger will receive a blanket, surgical mask, pillow, alcohol gel, toothbrush, toothpaste, tissue paper, vomit bag and individual garbage bag. "

"Returnees must receive psychological assistance, says the folder. They will be attended by a mental health team that will assess their degree of suffering and suggest treatment paths - use of psychotropic, psychotherapy, or just observation. "

This is from a Brazilian diplomat living in Wuhan:

"It was a modern and lively city. Now it is a ghost town, deserted. The picture is bleak," says Brazilian diplomat João Batista Magalhães about Wuhan, in China, where he is to accompany the rescue of isolated Brazilians in the city, the epicenter of the outbreak. of coronavirus."

""We are three Brazilian diplomats stationed at the embassy in Beijing. We came by car. Wuhan is in quarantine. Nobody can get in or out. We got a special permit to come here. But we are not allowed to return to Beijing. We had to leave the car here. We will embark with the Brazilians and we will have to submit to quarantine in Anápolis (Goiás) ", he explains. "

"Crew and returnees should avoid speaking while the meal is being served: "in the distribution of meals and snacks, it is advisable that there is no diversity in the offer of food and drinks, to avoid delay in the onboard service and excess conversations. Preferably, it should be made available meal already individualized and ready for consumption ", says the document."

""There was difficulty in contacting the Brazilians and finding them. The arrival here was complicated, as we had to drive our own car. Chinese drivers could not go with us to Brazil or return to Beijing. Our trip was done under snow. The road itself is a desolate scenario. It was 16 hours crossing very few cars. When we stopped to fill up, the stations were all isolated. People were isolated, they had no contact with us. An end of the world scenario ", he says."

In a more lighter note:

Woman in Brazil was arrested after she pretended being sick so she would be quickly attended. She claimed she had come back from HK where she worked as a nanny, but her family said she not only was never there but she didn't even had a passport. She was then arrested.

Brazilian turist in Bariloche (Argentina) claimed being sick too. Authorities located him and put him in isolation after evacuating the hotel where he had a room. In the hospitals, analysis were negative for CV, only a sore throat. He also was never in China nor had any contact with anybody from there.

It's actually worse than that.
Yes, it's Breitbart, but the takeaway is this:
China has an extremely key role in global supply chains, but there's one major bottleneck: China's ports and container ships. What happens when teamsters and dock workers don't show up due to virus fears? What happens when container ships are quarantined in foreign ports because a few sailors have the flu?

Complete paralysis of the globalist economy. There is something to be said with keeping at least some industrial base on standby in any given nation, for pandemics just like this one. Because unlike SARS, and very much like the bubonic plague, this is a belt and road epidemic.

What I think is hilarious about all of this, is that it's so far made it very hard for people to argue against the repatriation of US industry, which is what Trump has been going for. It's pretty much absolute proof that having your industry be dependent on the global economy is a horrible thing for both buyers, and sellers.

It's going to end up as a choice between higher prices but stable economy, or cheap goods most of the time but every ten years someone in China or India or Africa decides to eat a rabid monkey and crash the logistics of every marketplace on Earth.
Sadly, most will pick the latter. To quote Chernobyl "because it's cheaper."

I've had an odd pondering here and there the last few weeks...

How many container ships left China with crew infected? I mean, face it, China would view it in two ways: Work even when you're sick. Crew expendable.

It's just the interesting picture of massive container ships out there, drifting sideways on the currents, across the shipping lanes, and eventually to the Great Pollution Goblin Plastic Sea out there in the Pacific Ocean. A modern Saragossa Sea.

China's economy has been propped up and rumored to be on the ropes for a year, could they view shipping those containers out taking priority and worth the risk of a plague ship out there?

It's going to be interesting, watching all the fallout from this slowly come out over the next year or so as they try to recover from this.

Especially when you look at the fact that China was posed to buy a LOT of food from the US.

See, the US can go without Chinese junk longer than China can go without US food. Critical part pipelines will be interesting to watch, and the more fascinating part will be watching everyone try to adjust the pipeline to new factories and suppliers.

This is going to have long-term, permanent effects, even if everyone was suddenly cured and the shipping started tomorrow.

Gonna be interesting watching Wal-Mart prices.

What I've always found funny about people is that they automatically assume cheaper goods = more spending money, which it really doesn't. Outsourcing drives down wages, so the net effect is likely not worth the lower prices. In addition, you have to consider the fact that if companies are just having 12yo Chinese loli slaves build shitty goods in sweat shops, this by extension also means that the companies are not investing in industrial tech which would eventually drive prices down anyway.
