Apparently 'freedomofspeech' hashtag is doing the rounds too.
Here's the images translated. Tried my best, times new Roman is ugly for the first comic-like image.

The fuck is wrong with that fucking government? Can they do anything without making it completely assinine?

Well, this dual nationality issue is one of the many things people should take into account when going to work in, marrying into or even visiting the countries involved. Sure, everything's fine while everything's fine; when things go wrong unexpectedly, and things going wrong are nearly always unexpected, then you're in a fix and all the outrage in the world won't help you. You actively choose to live and work in a country with these rules. Now it's time to pay the bill for that.

There was a British teacher in Wu Han, a white woman from York, who clearly had a kid with a Chinese citizen, probably born there, and the kid was a Chinese passport holder/citizen too. She probably thought this was the best, maybe she planned to spend the rest of her life in China, and wanted her son to have the advantages of a natural-born Chinese, and not be the ever-restricted foreigner who cannot own property,or a sole-owned business etc. All great, until life throws a curveball at you like corona and you want to leave, and the advanatges of a Chinese citizen in China suddenly turn into giant disadvantages. They wouldn't let her take the baby on the airlift because he's Chinese. I don't know why she would expect otherwise. Why expect humanity from an inhumane regime?

What always makes me laugh at bit is the sheer outrage these people express when the oppressive authoritarian state and culture they chose to work in long-term (because of the money and maybe they can afford the kind of live-in help they'd never have in the west) or marry into and live under acts exactly like it was always going to do under its own rules. They all seem to think when push comes to shove, these states will naturally act humanely or at least in the same cultural mindset as the states they grew up in in the west. This is sheer delusion on their parts. I don't undertand how you can live in PRC (or UAE, or Saudi, or Iran) and be this dumb, but a lot of foreigners based there seem to have a weird kind of blind spot to the nastiness of the regime they live under. As long as they're doing fine financially, and have nice food to eat and can afford to leave and fly away on nice holidays and have the option of going home one day, they can ignore the fact they live under the same type of totalitariansm and abuses they would throw seven fits at if their native countries started behaving this way even a little. I don't have an excess of sympathy for them.

Sure, I'll sponsor a trip to Wuhan for her, let her see "racism" with her own slanted eyes. The catch is, this will be a one way ticket. If she denies the offer, she's a "racist". What is that person? Chinese born aboard or immigrant? Either way she's stupid asf. Chinese isn't a race, dummy.

She's entirely Western and identifies as a communist. That's why I asked if this was now a belief that was going round in some circles.

This is a leaked conversation with "officials" coming to lock you up in your appartment :

To me it appears they lock you up and don't want to listen to any complaints and use the good old "the government will provide" bullshit but they know they are going to be let on their own, never trust the government to care for you in such emergencies when they probably have hundred thousand, if not millions of infections in their hands, the person is being reasonable with his questions tho, wich again show how obedient and scared these people are from these "authorities", you see how quickly irritated the guy talking to the couple gets, you know with that kind of "let me work and worry not, cauz i don't give two shits, you are as good as dead to me" attitude, he just want to get this over with as quickly as possible and not think about it.

Probably limiting the "human" true social factor so his mind can be at peace when they are left in their place to die either from the virus or starvation / an "accident".

And some hum... "taking you away" for your own good clip :

If someone really has Coronavirus in these people well, not a lot of them are wearing ear, or eye masks, for the amount of sweating, crying, shouting, saw the guy with his mask removed spiting at some point, you can count them all for being infected. The police, the whole residential building, people around... What an inefficient way of dealing with the situation... 10 policeman unable to act quick with efficience, plus, they all look weak as fuck for not being able to deal with two woman, but all in all it's a very uneffective and virus spreading method for the amount of physicality and biologic material dispersion that happens through sweat / shouting / rapid breathing / physically clinging to / body to body / skin contact.

They are all fucked if this is the way they handle this with a panicked population.

It's the same mixture of inhumanity, brutality and utter stupidity that characterized the cultural revolution. Horrifying shit. It really shows underneath the new money and flashy new facade of the cities, nothing has really changed there.

She's entirely Western and identifies as a communist. That's why I asked if this was now a belief that was going round in some circles.
There's three theories.
- The virus was a bioweapon released by tehh evil murikkka, wants to win the economy war.
Gay, why the fuck would America do that, do they not know there's 1.4 billion slants, and they've placed military bases basically enclosing China and Russia, what makes them think the virus won't spread to Japan or Korea, or even the west? And what kind of shitty virus is this? Surely the Americans with genetic information of Asians (731 bioreasearch camp documents) can make a better virus.

- The virus leaked from whatever lab in Wuhan
Also gay, if a virus gets leaked so easily, where's the party politics leaks, leaks on internal corruption of higher officials of the party etc?
Why is there a lab of that kind in a tier 2 city, and moreover why would the state let people know about it in the first place?

- Some Chinese eat all kinds of fucked up shit, China's hygiene standards are low, the virus was obtained from weird animals being consumed (bats, pangolins?)
This is the most plausible, and pretty much can be assumed when there's some weird plague going on in China.

Also, Chinese pangolins are a highly protected species. China doesn't mind executing those who harm endangered animals, it takes some kind of brave and unsavoury fucktard to eat such a thing.

Discussion on the first or second case will get the banhammer on Chinanet. Her whatever autistic theory in promoting racism against Chinamen isn't one of them. I've never heard it within China or outside. She's delusional, but then she's a commie so yeah. There's so many reasons to dislike typical Chinese of various kinds (yes, this includes those from HK too, some of which harbour equally annoying Chinamen traits, such as being loud and stubborn, walking in large packs on pedestrian pathways blocking everyone else), it doesn't take a bat virus to do so.

I personally find Taiwanese and westernised ones to be the most bearable. I dislike tourists and FOBs the most, but I also dislike politics from the former as they are usually annoying leftists.

For the first time in weeks there's a major change on the John Hopkins dashboard--besides the 2 Aus and 1 Japan cases, there were no First World "Recovered" cases. They now show a US case as recoverd on Seattle. According to news reports, he was the first US diagnosed case, but all they say is he was sent home from the hospital to be isolated and monitored. Not sure if this is good or what.

Of course the Time article is from 4 days ago, so either John Hopkins is late on reporting the "recovery"or it's a true recovery and his condition improved in the past 4 days and they have access to info not yet reported in the news.

Case number four in UK. Some associate of the third case who caught it in Singapore and spread it to people in France before coming home and plague-ratting about here as well.

A fourth person has tested positive for coronavirus in the UK, England's chief medical officer has said.

The new case is a known contact of a previous British patient, and caught the virus in France.

It comes after around 200 British and foreign nationals evacuated from Wuhan on the UK's final rescue flight arrived at RAF Brize Norton on Sunday.

There have been more than 37,000 cases of the virus globally, mostly in China, where it originated.

The death toll for coronavirus has now overtaken that of the Sars epidemic in 2003, according to health officials in China, reaching 813. In 2003, 774 people were killed by Sars.

In a statement on Sunday, Professor Chris Whitty, chief medical officer for England, said the latest UK patient has been transferred to a specialist NHS centre at the Royal Free hospital in north London.

"We are now using robust infection control measures to prevent any possible further spread of the virus," he said.

"The NHS is extremely well prepared to manage these cases and treat them, and we are working quickly to identify any further contacts the patient has had.

"This patient followed NHS advice by self-isolating rather than going to A&E."

Meanwhile, a British man has been diagnosed with coronavirus in Majorca after contact with a carrier in France.

The repatriation flight arrived at RAF Brize Norton at around 07:30 GMT on Sunday, carrying more than 200 British and foreign nationals.

The Foreign Office said the flight was the second and last flight chartered by the government out of Wuhan, the city where the new coronavirus emerged.

The passengers comprised 105 Britons and their family members as well as 95 Europeans. A total of 13 staff and medics were also on board the flight.

Evacuees were taken on eight coaches to a Milton Keynes conference centre and hotel for 14 days of quarantine. NHS staff in blue scrubs, gloves and masks met passengers as they disembarked from the coaches at around 10:30 GMT.

The UK's ambassador to Beijing, Dame Barbara Woodward, told the BBC that two British people who wanted to join the flight were not allowed to board after failing temperature checks in China.

Elsewhere, the government in the Balearic Islands confirmed on Sunday a British man has tested positive for coronavirus.

He was admitted to hospital in Palma on Friday, along with his wife and two daughters. The rest of his family have tested negative for the virus.

The local health ministry said an investigation into cases that may have had contact with the man has begun.

More than 100 UK nationals and family members have already been evacuated to Britain on flights chartered by the UK and other countries.

They are being held in quarantine at Arrowe Park Hospital in Wirral.

The latest returnees will be housed at Kents Hill Park conference centre and hotel, where they will remain in isolation for two weeks - the incubation period of the virus - to ensure they are not infected.

At the hotel, they will have access to Netflix, magazines, books, baby equipment including highchairs, children's toys and games, mobile phones, and tablets for reading, games, and browsing the internet, the NHS said.

Clothing and toiletries have been laid out for their arrival. Passengers on the previous flight said they were only allowed to travel with a 15kg (33lb) cabin bag.

The flight follows the decision by the Foreign Office on 4 February to advise all Britons to leave China if they can.

British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have suspended all flights to and from mainland China, while other carriers continue to operate flights between the UK and China.

China's National Health Commission said total cases in the country from the virus had reached 37,198 on Sunday morning.

Outside of China, 288 cases have been confirmed in 24 countries, according to the World Health Organization. All the fatal cases have been in China and Hong Kong apart from one in the Philippines.

In the UK, the Department of Health and Social Care said that 686 people in the UK have been tested for coronavirus as of Saturday afternoon.

The virus causes severe short-term infection of the airways, and symptoms usually start with a fever, followed by a dry cough. Most people are likely to fully recover - just as they would from the flu.

Two of the UK coronavirus cases - both Chinese nationals - are being treated at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

After the third case was confirmed, it emerged that the British man had been exposed to the virus in Singapore and stopped at a ski resort in France before returning home.

There, five more Britons - four adults and a nine-year-old boy - staying at the same chalet in the Alps tested positive for the virus.

A student at Portslade Aldridge Community Academy in Brighton is self-isolating for 14 days following advice from Public Health England.

Also two Brits were denied boarding to the last flight out of Wu Han because they had temperatures.

My first thought on seeing that wet market shit, or the fact they’re worse on personal hygiene than fucking India, was how has this not fucking happened already.

I have a feeling that weird infections at wet markets happen all the time. However, most of the diseases will either have mild symptoms, or no symptoms, or not be very infectious. Even deadly infections that aren't very contagious probably happen, but don't spread, and the cause of death for the one or two or three victims is listed as something else. In other words, it happens and no one notices. This happens all the time in Africa, where a villager or two or five die from an unknown disease and it's just called "bush fever". No one really cares and no one really notices, until and unless the disease happens upon advantageous mutations and becomes widely transmittable.

The difference this time is the virus is highly transmittable via person-to-person contact, it has symptoms that range from mild to very deadly, and it is persistent on surfaces.

One more thing of note: Brazil is part if the BRIC alliance. BRIC stands for Brazil, Russia, India, China. It deals mainly with trade agreements In this group Everyone is China's Bitch and more or less has abused this group for their own personal gain

To be honest, BRICs are just a meme invented by some Goldman Sachs guy that China then took really seriously. It's one of those things (like joint exercises with the Russians) that the Chinese state media makes a really big thing about to imply this is an important cunning stepping stone to taking over the world, displacing the "Anglo-American" world order and all garlic-breath skinnyfat Chinamen NEETs get blond haired waifus. They have some public meetings, but a serious alliance it is definitely not. The Chinese and the Russians, for example, may not trust the Anglosphere, but they trust each other even less and if you don't believe me then look at where their elites send their kids to study, where they buy their property and where they generally stash their loot.

The Belt and Road policy is designed... to put it bluntly... to turn these 3rd world countries who deal with them into colonial debit nations being ruled by that fat ass in his palace bunker.

Yes that and to try to export China's bloated infrastructure sector bubble that grew to an absurd size in the wake of post-2008 (mal)investment and is now a powerful lobby group within the country that employs enormous numbers of people. There's nothing for these unskilled workers to do if they aren't building shit but now that every Chinese city has a massive ghost town ringed around it and there's high speed rail connecting towns nobody has ever heard of, there's nothing more for them to plausibly build in China... so the big brain idea is to build shit for Africans and stick them with the bill. In the short term, it'll look like big profits and wise policy for the banks. But the Chinese, as usual, have too much hubris to see the flaw in their plan. The Americans after WW2 had already tried the "we will deal with you honestly, employ your people, teach you skills and build you some shit - and we don't have the baggage of the European colonists" in Africa. The dams and factories went up and everything was great but after a while the Africans saw the ratio of interest payments to new shit being built was unfavourable; chimp-outs and nationalisations followed. China is openly an insincere partner, dismisses Western corporate charity-work in the region as naive (instead of necessary pacification bribes to maintain a long term presence), attempts no spiritual connection with the people, often openly refuses to employ locals and instead employs Chinamen transported over in cargo ships and sees simply buying off officials as an efficient way of dealing with Africa, as opposed to a time-bomb that starts ticking when unemployed Africans see tens or hundreds of thousands of Chinese workers living behind walls in their cities, building what is supposedly their new shit but with the local street level economy seeing nothing from these big Chinese investments except, possibly, in the brothels. There'll be smiles for the Chinese while they're building stuff and there'll be (a lot more) allegations of neo-colonialism and the beginnings of chimp outs once the structures are built but the interest payments are still due.

Honeslty I doubt Xinnie the Ping is going anywhere. The CCP has the masses raised into loyalty

That's far too general a statement. They definitely try to raise the masses in to loyalty. But the loyalty is nowadays essentially predicated on the economic situation getting better forever. As soon as enough Changs feel that their quality of life is stagnant with no sign of getting better, then the implicit binary choice the Party offers of "us or chaos" will eventually have enough people saying "cao ni ma, I choose chaos".

But I want to add that I noticed, that the post I quoted wasn't quite accurate. Sometimes it had been 1,9%, sometimes 2,0%, sometimes 2.1

This looks like a great example of how communist China still is in practice.

Whoever is authorised to put the fake stats out there had been told by the guy bossing them "keep it around 2%". But then the panic spread, the situation got worse and the person making the call is worried about how their instructions will look afterwards, so they just clammed up and stopped giving instructions. So the people in charge of implementing the instruction have not had an update. And obviously, they are also concerned about how they'll look afterwards, so they continue to keep implementing the latest instruction they had, no matter how detached from reality it is because they can say "we did what we were told!" afterwards. I suppose it's a useful thing for the system that its cogs are still more scared of the system itself than the virus.

You've shared a lot of interesting shit ITT my dude, but I disagree with you here. I think this is the most plausible one.

At Red Square in Moscow, there is (or at least was) a hotel nearby that has two different facades; half of it is one look, half of it is another.
moskva_hotel.jpg
Now obviously, having a hotel look like this is objectively stupid, so why did the Russians build it? They aren't idiots, obviously. The story I heard goes that the architect, upon bringing the plans to Comrade Stalin to approve, had proudly drawn 2 possible designs and was allowing The Glorious Leader Of The International Proletariat to exercise his judgement on which side looked better. Stalin, at the end of a busy day, glanced at the blueprint and signed it approved. And nobody in the room who was aware of the mistake had the nerve to correct Stalin. So they built the 2 separate parts as one hotel, just like the approved blueprint. Stalin was the kind of guy who probably found that hilarious after the fact, but if he heard that you agreed that it was funny, you were dead.

So when you ask "but why would the Chinese build a bioweapons lab in the middle of a city? That's obviously stupid", you need only look at that hotel. Some big shot Party bigwig who didn't really grasp what was going on had a senior moment and nobody dared to correct him.

Honestly I think if people put things in perspective, something like this happening really shouldn't have been a surprise.

The Chinese:
  1. Horrible sanitation practices
  2. High population density
  3. Haphazard nature with everything
  4. "It's better to hide a problem, than fix a problem" attitude
  5. Absolutely barbaric eating habits
  6. Government controlled medical
  7. Don't put any important information out to the public
  8. Oppressive government, which makes the infected more likely to hide, than turn themselves in
  9. Low value of life, which causes them to favor profit over public health, and safety
It's really kind of a wonder it took so long for something like this to happen.

Of low interest but a friend last week told me that she believed Coronavirus was a hoax put about by racists. If not actually not existing, then bigged up disproportionately. She wasn't clear on the purpose of the hoax exactly, but I got the impression she believed the intent was to encourage racism against Chinese people. Is this a thing? I haven't really been plugged in much this past month.

She must be pretty hot to tolerate such dumb opinions. I am absolutely unsurprised that a soi disant communist will come up with any kind of babble other than the truth: communist governments are shit at protecting the people it supposedly serves.

It's a little more like the pre-Chernobyl radiation exposure from a spill of radioactive sludge. I forget the name but it only really came out during the 90s that it even happened. A huge swathe of the Eurasian countryside became unlivably radioactive but people were still bathing in the rivers and ponds and the Soviets would just shoot them dead to stop them from going to other towns and irradiating people there.
That would be the Kyshtym disaster

She's entirely Western and identifies as a communist. That's why I asked if this was now a belief that was going round in some circles.
Of course she does. Anytime communnism does an oopsie or, you know, fails you get a bunch of bootlickers saying it only failed because of the CIA and not because of any inherent problems with communism

This is pretty much how I see it. Most people would probably just think they had a bad case of flu, or food poisoning or gastro, even though the actual strain may be quite different under the microscope from normal gastro etc. 9 out of 10 times, the normal remedies work, but that special number 1 turns into outbreaks like this.

Answer seems pretty obvious to me. He was an immigrant to the USA originally, which means he had Chinese citizenship and passport. Then he acquired USA citizenship/passport.

So, wait, this guy was a top researcher working on genetic stuff and diseases in the United States, shit that can be easily weaponized, and they let him keep his fucking Chinese passport?

Considering that the latest SF86 form throws a shit-fit if you had an expunged underage drinking ticket from over 20 years ago, how did this guy fall through the cracks?

It sucks he died, and he was probably more American than the American NPCs who are sucking China's yellow dick right now, but how many more Chinese people who have dual-citizenship are currently in security sensitive positions in the US who can just fuck off to China (or flee to the nearest Chinese embassy) if the heat gets turned on them?
