The number of people under quarantine went up from 1518 to 9400. These people are not infected but are in govt. hospitals for showing wuflu like symptoms. They will stay for 17 days and then will either be checked out or taken into ICU if they have wuflu. Only 3 cases so far, all in south india a region with uncleanliness, humidity and farming. 2 or 3 days ago I said that 741 were tested and only 3 came positive. Now 1518 were tested and none came up positive apart from the 3 cases 3 days ago. Tibet and India has formed the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) set up near Tibet to guard the border between India Tibet and China. Military is being redeployed from Kashmir(superpower 2020 will have to wait) to TIbet and Nepal to secure border crossings. States in India have been given official orders on how to handle an outbreak and have been given men and equipment to do so. Tiny bit of power level here but I canceled my trip to Japan and lost around 400 dollars

Brazil's economy has been doing great for the past months. When the news of the Amazon forest being on fire was making the rounds, many theorized it was because France wanted out from some agreement that would completely shit over their own farmers as Brazilian meat was cheaper and better and they started the rumor. Bolsonaro was ready to tell them to fuck themselves and many people said it wouldn't be a problem for anybody because that would mean more and cheaper meat for themselves (and for the rest of our continent).

China, in Latin America, exports things we produce, except cheaper. It causes local farmers being underpaid. If, for example, China says tomorrow they won't be able to send more tomatoes, local tomato farmers will be very able to compensate it in affordable prices. And of course, another country would step forward. If, by tomorrow, we stop importing lettuce from China and we get ti from, say, Uruguay, that would be a good thing for everybody. I've seen local markets of clothes and other goods being deeply affected by China imports. Local producers will be glad China's gone.

Now, yes, the economy is gonna be bumpy because a big chunk of trade goes and comes from China, but it's not like we're gonna starve or being completely fucked. Ordinary citizens will probably be paying a little bit more for food and will perfectly able to survive without a new iphone.

I wonder how many corona virus deaths in China are preventable. What I mean by that is what if a lot of the deaths are just because of a lack of proper treatment and medical infrastructure. I am wondering if perhaps this disease wouldn’t have been as bad if they just didn’t try to sweep it under the rug and if they had the proper medical infrastructure. If the deaths stay low in say Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau, that would be an indictment on the mainland Chinese government. Even if the deaths are minimal in India, Japan, and South Korea, it would be a sign imo of this being exacerbated by the CCP.

Who knows? Time will tell if this disproportionately affects East Asians, if it fucks over everyone who gets infected, or if it’s just CCPs pure incompetence.

Probably most of it preventable. Viral pneumonia doesn't automatically mean death sentence, yes you can feel like your dying and be sick for up to a month but as long as you get adequate rest and fluids you can recover. The problem with china is resources. They don't have the capacity to treat a lot in one go.

If the virus is, for whatever reason, far more deadly to east asians, then we can expect India to not be too badly shaken up by its spread, while South Korea and Japan will be hit pretty damn nastily.

If both india and japan/south korea are more or less unaffected by the outbreak while china is decimated, then shit is going to be really fuckin confusing to everyone
